Wasn't super impressed with the performance of Flight Simulator. Very slow and choppy. I was surprised that it didn't perform better TBH.

flight sim…Slow and choppy? Runs smooth for me and looks fantastic

Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

I've been online and at the ready for (I think) every MS and Walmart drop for the last month, as well as various retailers' Halo Edition preorders. No luck. These are gone in a yoctosecond. Just today, I was already on the Microsoft Series X product page, hand on mouse, when Wario and Hotstock notifications went off. Refreshed the page and clicked the Buy Now button...out of stock.

And no luck with another MS drop today. Gone in seconds. lol

I'm thinking about going with the Xbox All Access route. From what I've seen, it's a good, fair deal for the console and 24mo of GPU, and I can (and would) pay it off immediately with no penalty.

Are you a Gamestop Pro member? It worked for me the second time they dropped PS5s... it's worth the $15, IMO.

I am not a Pro member, no. Does Gamestop ever sell just the console, or is it always bundles?

Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

My buddy did GS and they said only way to get was in bundle so he spent like 800 all together or something. I say try FB marketplace guys. Save the headache. My experience was so easy and no way shady. Took seconds. He opened it after showed me sealed. So easy and got lucky and paid retail plus tax. Just saying. 10 minutes from work, picked it up, that’s it. No headaches, refreshing waiting hoping. Might save time and headache. Food for…

I believe only bundles... and yes, you'll probably get a game (or two) you don't really want. But it's an option.

Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

Finally got my X from the 8/25 Walmart drop and it was only a few days later than promised. Now to get it set up and install Flight Simulator.

Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

I am pretty annoyed at Microsoft controller quality anymore. I am now waiting for my fourth Aqua Shift controller from Amazon. First one the Y button was wonky, second the Xbox button really didn’t work, and now the third the A button catches on something. This is in addition to my original Series X controller trigger sticking. I know I am being picky, but a $69 controller should be perfect. Blah. At least Amazon makes exchanges super easy.

Weird. I have NEVER had an issue with a first party Xbox controller since the 360 days and still use a wired 360 controller on my PC. My XSX one is fine as well. Maybe a disappointment compared to the Dual Sense controller but it works perfectly. I hope there’s no issue with the FH 5 controller that I have preordered from Amazon.

Thanks to whoever recommended turning off the other game quick resume. Now Flight Simulator runs very smoothly. So peaceful and relaxing to just fly around a city. Really enjoy that, even if I’m playing with every assist possible.

Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

Could be a bad batch of controllers. Only issue I've had with MS controllers is the left stick on the controller that came with my Xbox One started to drift after 2 years. I replaced it and haven't had any issues and it's been a few years. I'm still using my Halo themed controller on my 360 and that's got to be at least 7 years now.

The one with a cartoony Master Chief on one side and a Warthog on the other? I have that one too. Gotta be 10-11 years old now.

I had a pretty horrific run of bad controllers on the XB1. 4 or 5 bum controllers over time? Stick drift was overwhelmingly the primary problem, and there was one that refused to stay connected. I don't recall ever having an issue with any other controller on any other system I've ever owned. (Edit: wait, I forgot about my launch DualSense which won't actually do anything on my PS5 95% of the time.)

The funny thing is that the day one XB1 controller -- the one that's by far gotten the most use -- continues to work great! But the Project Scorpio edition flaked out after something like a year and a half.

I had an Elite with a sticky A button, an easy exchange with Amazon fixed that though.

Same here. My Project Scorpio controller bit the dust in less than two years of use.

Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

Had the Far Cry 6 bundle from Gamestop in my cart several times this morning, but the two payment methods I tried to use, Paypal and standard credit card, were kicked back for some reason or another. So I lost out on that.

However, as I'm trying to trouble shoot that issue, a Wario notification came up for Series X at Walmart, so I jumped over there and managed to grab one. I had it in the cart but needed to run downstairs to get the security number off my credit card. Came back upstairs and entered the number, and it looks like the order went through. Had to clear it with my bank's fraud prevention system, but I'm seeing a pending charge of 541.91 on my account, so I'm going to assume we're good to go.

I have a delivery date of Nov 16 but from what I'm hearing it should arrive before then. Even if it doesn't, I can finally disable Wario notifications, which were so frequent it was bordering on (self inflicted) harassment.

Congrats. Walmart seems to always come through as long as your order went through OK. Mine wound up being a few days past the promised by date but no biggie.

Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

Is there a direct number to talk to Xbox support? I work night and sleep during the day. I woke up today to a 1700 roblox charge and Xbox is refusing to refund this. I don’t play roblox and my kids plays in but on the computer..not on Xbox. They are refusing to refund this but I’d like to know why or how it was charged etc and there is no number….just a chat and there is a loading screen and error every time

They used to answer their 800 number but now you have to request a call back through their chat option.
