I've reviewed our previous correspondence. I understand you're concerned about applying $8 promotional certificate.

As my colleague mentioned we are not a participating dealer for this particular promotion.

I hope this helps to explain things more clearly. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

So another no-go. I clicked the no link and gave an explanation of why the response wasn't helpful.

Thinking of trying one more time . . .

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

I couldn't resist and sent them the following email about the $10 off Up coupon:

Hi, you guys have been great. My order shipped this morning, but today Disney released an official $10 off coupon for the Up Blu-ray and all stores are accepting it - Target, Walmart, Best Buy, all of them. The coupon can be found here:

http://disney.go.com/disneyvideos/an...p/couponoffer/

http://www.disneypixarupcoupon.com/

Is it possible to get a $10 credit adding to my account to make up for my lack of being able to use this coupon? If not that's fine, I just wanted to ask to make sure. Thanks a lot!
And they replied back in six minutes with the following:

Hello,

I've requested a refund of $10.00 to your credit card. You'll see the refund in the next 2-3 business days.

Once processed, you'll be able to see the refund here:

*edited*

I hope this helps. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Huh?
Sorry, but that math is wrong....
If you just paid Target $11.94, and you already gave Best Buy a $7.50 deposit, then right now you have paid $19.44 out of pocket....
If you go get that $7.50 deposit back, then you STILL have paid $11.94 out of pocket for them at Target....you can't deduct the $7.50 you are getting back at BB off of what you just paid at Target since you originally spent the $7.50 on the BB pre-order....getting the $7.50 back that you originally paid is a wash and completely unrelated to what you just spent at Target...

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

Even though I had pre-ordered at BB, I decided to see what Target had to offer after reading some of the experiences here.

I scanned UP and it did ring up 19.99, and the Monsters, Inc case also had the $10 coupon. With all of the coupons, I decided not to even bother trying the Monsters BB price match.

Unfortunately, I couldn't use the $8 coupon because they said I could only use 1 manufacturer's coupon per movie. But I did have a $5 off 2 Disney Blu-ray's coupon that I had gotten on a previous visit. So even without any price matching, I walked out the door spending $14 (incl. tax). If I had known they wouldn't take the $8 coupon, I would have tried the price match. After the fact, I went to customer service saying I forgot I had the ad to price match, but the way the Target $10 coupon rings up, it actually drops the price on the receipt to $16.99 so she couldn't get it to work.

I still won't complain for $14. I'm trying to decide how honest I want to be - I don't see anything on my BB receipt indicating I had gotten the steelbook.... Even including the $ I spent for the steelbook (and the fact that I do still have it), $21 is pretty good for 2 brand new blu's...

This one always gets him as well:

Three guests check into a hotel room. The clerk says the bill is $30, so each guest pays $10. Later the clerk realizes the bill should only be $25. To rectify this, he gives the bellhop $5 to return to the guests. On the way to the room, the bellhop realizes that he cannot divide the money equally. As the guests didn’t know the total of the revised bill, the bellhop decides to just give each guest $1 and keep $2 for himself.

Now that each of the guests have been given $1 back, each has paid $9, bringing the total paid to $27. The bellhop has $2. If the guests originally handed over $30, what happened to the remaining $1?

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

and this is why amazon is so frustrating, the total lack of providing the same service to ANY and ALL coustmers who request such and provide the links.
and i had my last straw with them now over the bs they pulled on me with the xbox deal and how they cheated me out of my free 100 dollar gift card and conviently wait to send email notification till after it went into shipping soon.
amazon can stuff it now for all i care.

congratulations to you, atleast you were able to get a great deal.

So, did you get a credit too?

Although I did not expect much, this does piss me off. I could understand if they brushed everyone off, but this on-again-off-again crap is frustrating.

I have learned my lesson ... unless it is a limited edition of something, DON'T PREORDER from Amazon.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

I got a YMMV deal...
Up at Target was $19.99
PM BB -> Monsters $18.99
---------------------------
Total $38.98
$10 off UP (disney)($10.00)
$10 off Up/Monster($10.00) from the Monsters slip cover
$10 off Up/Monster($10.00) from the Target online ad
---------------------------
Total $ 8.98
plus tax on $28.98 $ 2.38 (this is what the receipt said)
------------------------
Out the door $11.36

Boy did I get lucky.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

Target denied my Monster's Inc price match to bestbuy because of the book that is included with Up. They did however have Up for $19.99.

They also would not let me use the $10 off coupon that was on the Monster's Inc box because I was already using a manufacturer coupon for Up.

$19.99 Up
$26.99 Monsters Inc
-$10 target coupon
-$8 Monsters Inc coupon
-$10 Up coupon
Total $18.98

I think I'm returning Monsters Inc as I was hoping to get it for cheaper than $9.

Guess you have make sure they scan all the $10 ones before the $8 one inncase they don't allow all 4.
I got it down to $16.xx after the 3 $10 coupons.

Amazing experience at Best Buy today. It took them a sec to get it all square, but they were friendly and I was pleased.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

My order has been in 'Shipping Soon' mode for over 24 hours at Amazon. I sent them a little note to see if they could nudge it along. Since the total is under $12 total for the 2 BDs, all paid with GC, I'll wait.

If the Disney*Pixar says that coupon can be redeemed in Amazon, please write back to us and we'll apply the promotion for you.

Same response for the $10 UP coupon!

Just got back from Wal-Mart and got Up! for $10. No argument from anyone, the cashier asked where she could get the coupon.

LMAO! So Amazon.com paid you $9.54 to take these two Blu-rays off your hands. Hysterical. I wasn't going to try for it since I'm already at $8.98, but fuck it. I am now! Thanks for the laugh!

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

Okay, got a YMMV deal at Target too!

1. Price matched Best Buy for Monsters Inc.
2. UP! was already on sale, with a promo card in front of the price and everything:

$18.99 - Monsters Inc
$19.99 - UP!
$02.68 - Tax (9.25%)
-$10 - Target coupon
-$10 - UP! manufacturer coupon
-$8 - Monsters Inc. coupon
--------
$13.66 - Total

But it gets better. Using Nick Crushian accounting: $13.66 - $15 from Best Buy steelbook refund = -$1.34!

The guy didn't let me use the manufacturer coupon that was on the Monsters Inc slip case. He said, "there are too many coupons! You should hold on to that one."

ALSO for those worrying about the slip case, there was a STACK of them behind the counter in the electronics section at my location (Antioch, CA).
