This will probably get buried in this giant thread but...

***(YMMV)***My local Target (Novato, CA) had the UP Target Exclusive BD w/ Adventure Journal ringing up $19.99

I just bought a copy.

I went to Best Buy with a printout of the Online $19.99 price for Up. I showed it to the girl at Customer Service and she said she couldn't modify the price. I explained to her she could and she did, reluctantly.

When I told her Monsters, Inc. should then ring up at $18.99 and showed her the in-store ad, she rang it up and it didn't work. I explained to her that when you buy Up Monsters, Inc. is reduced by $10 thus making it $18.99. She didn't believe this and instead told me that what it did was make Up $18.99 and Monsters, Inc. $23.99. Obviously it is the same price, but the logic she used in reaching that conclusion given that the ad says "Buy Up and get Monsters, Inc. for $10 cheaper" blows my mind.

So when she finally called a manager over and the manager said, "Yes. He is right. Adjust the price," I am already feeling very frustrated. This is THIRTY minutes I've been standing at Customer Service. I show her the coupons and tell her they are Manufacturer Coupons and there will be no problem, she reads the fine print and says "They can't be used in conjunction with any other offer. This thing in the ad is an offer so it won't work." I politely say forget the whole thing then and leave the store.
Same exact thing happened to me. The prices are backwards in Best Buy's system. UP rings up at $18.99 and Monsters Inc at $23.99 when purchased together. She didn't want to give me the $19.99 price for UP from the website because it was already at $18.99. I told her if I ordered both from the website I would have gotten the lower price. After a little arguing she reduced UP to $14.99 to make up the difference. She had no issue with the Disney coupons though. After my $7.50 deposit and coupons applied, it was $15.37 out the door.

I would have tried PM'ing at Target first, but they were already out of Monsters Inc and I didn't feel like driving 3 miles to the next Target when Best Buy was right across the street.

Oh, and Best Buy does not accept competitor coupons.

That's a huuuge YMMV because for 99% of people it's ringing up at the regular price of $26.99

Fuck, I don't know what to do now.

The place I'm going, 10 minutes from here, has a Toys R Us, Target and Best Buy. I was planning on going to Best Buy and get everything there, both movies and MW2, pricematching to TRUS for the GC.

Now, getting the Special Edition from Target for $20... and my wife wanted that one.

Thanks for the heads up. I edited my post to reflect that.

As doctorthodt kindly reminded me, the $20 Up BD I posted was YMMV. Others are having it ring up at $26.99.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

My attempt at purchasing Up and Monsters Inc failed. My target didn't even freaking get their Up Blu Ray shipment. They had the normal versions of Up and Monsters Inc but no Up Blu Ray.

I didn't because the Target I went to didn't have them out at 8:30am.

The guy stocking the new DVD's said the guy who usually does them just decided to not show up to work and he was slowly getting out Tuesday's releases.

I'll probably go back with my $8 Monsters Inc coupon sometime during the week (whenever they have it on the shelf), buy the BD and get a price adjustment.

depending on when you are going, i know TRU is giving a $20 gift card until 2pm if you buy modern warfare 2 there. If you are a reward zone member, go on to bestbuys rewardzone website and there is a coupon for a $10 gift card if you buy modern warfare 2. thats what i did and used the GC towards UP/Monsters Inc.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

So if I can get Target to pm Best Buy's prices on Up and Monsters, I can still use all three coupons together (Target/Save$10, Disney $10 off, $8 off Monsters)??

Has anyone had luck (or not) with that at Target?

Some people posted in here that they have. I don't think anyone has said they have not. The real trick is getting Target to PM Best Buy's website price I guess.

My Target had tons of UP, but were already out of Monsters, so you better hurry.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

I just bought a copy. With the coupon it'll come out to $9.99+tax

SUCCESS - WITH A BIG YMMV

I just came back from Target and out the door I only paid $3.01!

I had the BB ad and for the Monsters, Inc. pm and printed the BB online ad for the UP! pm. When I got to the store, I noticed the Keep Monsters Inc, blu ray had a $10 mfg coupon (purchase UP! and Monsters at the same time). One my way to the register I scanned the movies to see what they were and UP! rang at $19.99 and Monsters at $26.99.

So, I went to customer service and just showed them the ad for the Monsters price match (tossed the online pm since I didn't need it) and then added all of the other coupons:

- UP! blu ray - $19.99 (w/ Adventure Journal)
- Monsters, Inc. blu ray - $18.99
total: $38.98

- Target online coupon for buying both movies
- Disney online Up! coupon
- Disney online Monsters coupon
- Disney coupon on Monsters blu ray
- with this coupon, the CS rep said the computer indicated there were
too many mfg coupons being used, and, without my prompting, she
then said, "There is a button here to accept anyway, let's see what
happens when I click it....oh, it took the coupon. Wow, you really got
a great deal on these!"

coupon totals: $38.00

Plus....don't forget the $4.00 Rozini rebate and the $5.00 Voila rebate.

I am so glad I held off on my Amazon purchase, I just don't think I could have beat $3.01 for both of these movies.

I can't go until after work. I'm not that concerned about getting Monsters - if it's there fine. And with this deal I'm all over it.

Otherwise I'll be happy with the $9.99 UP.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

Is the $10 coupon stuck to Monsters Inc a Target exclusive coupon? Best Buy did not have them (unless they removed them all)

So tempted to still try and buy another pair at a Target. EDIT: Scratch that. Can only get 1 Monsters Inc coupon per member.

I'm not too sure about that. I didn't know about it until I went to Target and it was stuck on the front. For me it was just an added bonus - if they didn't take it with all other coupons, I wouldn't have cared that much. The cashier who helped me was very courteous and helpful.

Went to Best Buy to get Up! and the Doug Talking Plush and didn't have any problem matching the online price and using the $10 cpn except i had to pay 9.99 for the plush instead of $4.99 due to the price match but with my rz coupon walked out of the store with both for $15.81

Weird. Even on Best Buy's website. If you add both UP and Monsters Inc to your cart, Up becomes $14.99 and Monsters Inc becomes $23.99, so it takes $5 off each movie and not $10 off Monsters Inc.

FYI, I was DENIED at the Fry's in Manhattan Beach, CA. I was pretty much told straight up that they do not accept Manufacturer's coupons.

Good luck to those at other locations. I'm going to try BB at lunch time.

The reason you were denied was because this could possibly be the worst store in the history of stores. You would have better luck with a guy on a corner downtown taking any kind of coupon or hell, giving you customer service than you would with this store.

I have been tempted to ask them for an employment application just to see if it has one question: "Are you mentally challenged?" with a check yes or no box.

I would rather shop at wal-mart and enjoy it than Fry's MB.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

Your telling me that if you go to Customer Service at TARGET to get the Price Matches, they will accept all 4 Coupons on top of matching 2 different ads.

I think I have a better chance of buying a lottery ticket (atleast at my local Targets)

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

Target wouldn't let me pricematch the combo because the manager considered the Target exclusive version of UP with the stupid book a different product than what everyone else carries - which I'm sure is what Target had in mind all along with that. I'll have to hit Fry's during lunch.

I go because it's the closest Fry's to me. I accept that Fry's has horrible customer service.

BTW, they had the price for Monsters, Inc. posted as $27.99. When I pointed out to them that the price listed in the OCRegister ad was $23.77, they tried to tell me that the Orange County prices don't apply to their store. I pretty much said, "The OC ad includes Manhattan Beach on its list of stores." And their reply was "No, that's not the case." But one nice associate doublechecked the price in the computer and was like..."You're right...they must have printed the wrong price."
