Re: Save $10.00 off Toy Story & Toy Story 2 Blu-rays when you upgrade from DVD or VHS

Went this morning to Target.

$45.98
- $10.00 Target promotion.
- $20.00 Disney Rewards Upgrade coupons (2 x $10.00).
- $10.00 Disney Manufactuer coupons (2 x $5.00).
= $5.98 before tax ($6.46 after tax).

Boom. Did I buy two copies of each? Yes. Will someone be getting a gift of Toy Story 1 & 2 on BD soon? Yes. Better than the poor schmuck who got G-Force as a gift.

Wal-Mart, $14.95 each, total of about $32.00 with tax. $8.50 movie tickets x 2 = $17.00

32-17 = $15 for two movies, not bad, but not as good as others on this thread.

I am in Moses Lake WA and will not be getting back to Seattle till Sunday night. But I am happy with my savings.

Re: Save $10.00 off Toy Story & Toy Story 2 Blu-rays when you upgrade from DVD or VHS

First and Foremost thank you to everyone for the constant update on this sale

I went to Toys R Us at lunch time. No blu-ray boxes were on display only the DVD versions. Reserved copies like others mentioned were behind the counter at customer service where there was a tiny tower of them on the floor.

A lady in front of me was picking up her copies as well, she had both $10.00 coupons but was given TS1 on blu-ray box and TS2 on a DVD box. I don't know if ppl were randomly given any style or she had pre-ordered one of them as a DVD version but then again she had the $10.00 upgrade coupon.

When I presented my receipt I was given the first 2 copies at the top of the pile which luckily were on blu-ray box. So I dunno if they specifically reserve blu-ray boxes or not. But either way they seem to carry only a handful of those.

Oh yeah so i paid $6.26 today plus the $10 reserve = $16.26 for 2 Blu-Ray combo packs plus ticket to see Toy Story 3

lol, no kidding, they're like the only site of the web that freaks out so much about coupons. Kinda embarrassing really

Now I'm sorry I didn't try the $5.00 coupons too. Not really. I'm very satisfied with the $15.98 price and I don't feel like I've done something not intended by Disney.

If we abuse these they may not keep coming.

The way Disney is practically giving away the Blu-Rays and then giving away free movie tickets (well, at 3D ticket prices, discounted anyway) inside on top of that, this must be budgeted with them expecting to make their real profits off of us buying the Toy Story 3 toys and merchandise. Cars has been a huge merchandising bonanza for Pixar, so maybe that's what their endgame is here.

eeeeeh, for every one of us, there's 50 J6P's who buy the movies during release week at the store's "discounted" price, all the while blissfully unaware of the existence of any coupons. (See Amazon's TS $40 "special" this week)

I thought Disney might stop putting out these coupons after all that UP/Monsters Inc. craziness. Hopefully they'll continue with Finding Nemo/Toy Story 3 in the fall.

Re: Save $10.00 off Toy Story & Toy Story 2 Blu-rays when you upgrade from DVD or VHS

Picked up my copies at TRU this afternoon for $1.99 each. The girl only wanted to scan one of the coupons but I said that I had been following the saga online and knew for a fact they'd both scan and she said "you're right, I can't argue with you" and scanned both.

I wanted a copy of their ad so I could go to Target and try to pricematch, but they only had one left, and it was the store copy.

So I went to Target and picked up the Target Exclusive versions (and they do stock non-Target Exclusive versions, so be careful), and without an ad, talked my way into them price-matching TRU (I think the manager who came to help was in to me, lol), and used both coupons. It turns out she only PMed one of them down to $21.99, but whatever. I was out the door for $4.98 plus tax there.

I was going to pick up one more copy of each at TRU for my dad/sister/brother (who all still live together) but they were all out of Toy Story 2. They said they might get more in later this week, so I'll call back.

Hear hear.

Am I jealous that some people got these for like, a few bucks each? Yeah. I guess a little. But I am COMPLETELY satisfied at having paid about $8 per title & doing so legitimately. There's something unwholesome about having a cashier "try" to scan more coupons when it says right there in black & white "one coupon per item." I just consider that greed. And feigning ignorance.

Sorry to be all lecture-y.

I'm thrilled about all these coupons (thanks everyone for sharing them!), but I'm not expecting them to last for too much longer. I have a bad feeling Disney will catch on to the abuses & sometime soon, we're not going to see as many generous coupons from them.

I hope I'm wrong. But some of these posts just sounded a little shady to me. I hope these people don't ruin things for everyone else.

I asked for a copy of the ad and was told they do not provide them and they only keep one in store and that I could look at it but had to return it. The manager said if I wanted one to go get the Sunday paper. I don't know if it's an attempt at being green or attempt to keep people from taking their business elsewhere via price-matching.

Got mine for about $19 at Target. They charged me tax for the $45.98 price (before coupons). I wish it would've been after the coupon but I didn't want to make a big deal out of it since the movies also comes with free tickets

Has anyone actually tried using both coupons @ Fry's for both TSs today?

^^ World's first candidate for human cloning... wouldn't it make it so much easier if they were all like that???

On the other hand...

I must say, I agree with this, to a certain extent. A killer deal is a killer deal, but if the retailers had their sh*t together, not a one of them would ever let someone walk out the door paying just a couple of bucks because they found a way to work the system, let alone having had a negative balance on their purchase! That said, there is a certain balance in this versus those times when some power-mad manager starts making up the rules as they go along, thus denying the consumer a legitimate deal. Not that either side is in the right, but there is a karmic balance to it all, eh?

I don't think we'll have to worry about Disney ceasing to issue coupons. It's really not their drama - it's the retailers' problem. They're the ones that are going to have issues when they try to balance their books and factor in the coupons redeemed versus what they've been reimbursed for those coupons (a discussion had many times over in the various movie coupon threads). In this day and age, however - when any numbnuts corporate dude could go online and read the threads here, the threads at SD, etc., and see firsthand the kind of scheming going on - and they don't take any steps within their own system(s) to prevent abuse, then it's their loss. Heck, I'm surprised some over-eager corporate brown-noser hasn't brought this to Target's/TRU's attention before now and demonstrated the loss of revenue (or maybe they have and the corporate muckety-mucks just don't care...?).

Were both supposed to come with a slipcover?
I didn't notice 'til I got home, but only my TS2 has one.
Thanks for the info!

Re: Save $10.00 off Toy Story & Toy Story 2 Blu-rays when you upgrade from DVD or VHS

I don't think any of this coupon 'stacking' is abuse, as some of you are claiming. The fine print on almost every coupon says 'only one coupon per item'. It is referring to that coupon. You can not use multiple of the same coupon, but can use one of each type of coupon per item. Stores should go out of their way to accept any and all manufacturer's coupons, as they are better than cash. They get reimbursed full value and a handling fee.

I base the above statement on years of working customer service, and years of speaking to customer service managers at various stores.

Of course, as we know, not all cashiers, supervisors, and store managers know/believe this, and will refuse multiple coupons. That's fine. I never fight it personally, got denied using more than one coupon at TRU today.

But I think any of you thinking poorly of any of us using or trying to use multiple coupons need to relax a bit.

Again, I am just basing this opinion on actual practice and on multiple conversations with managers of all types of stores. If certain stores have different policies or there are laws contradicting what I said, please don't call me a liar. I'm just going by what I've been told dozens of times over the years by multiple managers.

Re: Save $10.00 off Toy Story & Toy Story 2 Blu-rays when you upgrade from DVD or VHS

Yea in now way did I or anyone for that matter that im aware try and double up the 5.00 or 10.00 coupon. With the 10.00 preorder fee thats what I ended up paying..5.00 for each movie maybe a bit more with tax as TRU had no problems. She took my papers, cut off the coupon, called MGR..mgr said do it and I was out a few minutes later paying 1.32 in taxes.. A good deal i believe..but then i did something really bad.....

At the Target I went to they would only take one coupon per title, so I used the $10 ones. Still, $16 and some change isn't bad.
