Is that for personal reasons or is that a (new) TRU policy?
I don't want/need multiple copies of TS3..

I think they might mean whether or not you would be willing to pre-order another copy of TS3 in order to get $10 off but not picking it up (thus saving a net of $5).

Similar experience to yours. At my TRU, I thought it was odd they only had TS1, TS2, & TB3 blu-rays locked in case along with video games. I was looking to buy some of the older Pixar blu-ray titles but not were on display. I finally asked the employee in electronics and he did mention that they had a couple boxes of blu-rays in the back. He brought out the box and I was able to pick up Cars and Bug's Life.

You don't need to pickup a second copy, just pre-order it. There is no obligation to pick up and you don't lose money you are actually saving money Tuesday because you get $10 off for spending $5.

So you can still get the $7.99 price tomorrow:

+$22.99
+$5.00 (Pre-Order Toy Story)
-$10.00 (Toy Story Pre-Order Discount)
-$10.00 (Manufacturer's Coupon)
=$7.99 (+Tax)

But in the case of Toy Story, why would we not be allowed to stack them? I had 1 TRU manager actually explain without me having to say something to the employee the reason why we could use both the $10 upgrade coupon and the general $8 coupon since they WERE 2 different coupons. That's the whole reason behind at least my complaint this time around.

The fact that they did this with Snow White makes it all the more interesting then why they even bothered 2 different amounts with the Toy Story movies which allowed us to use both. By chance do you remember if the Snow White coupons had the same UPC barcode?

Stacking multiple (manufacturer's) coupons (whether it's the same amount or different ones) on a single item is always YMMV; e.g., Target does not allow it (but you may get away with it if you buy a $1 snickers or what ever), TRU seems to allow it.

Wrt. the UPC barcode, I don't know about Snow White, but the $10 off coupon for Tinkerbell has the same bar code as the $10 off coupon(s) for BatB (and similarly, the $10 off coupons for both TS1 and TS2 had the same barcode). So it seems more related to the discount amount then the actual movie it's for.

I'm a little late to this thread, but this has to be the worst first post because it has ZERO to do with the thread title.

It wasn't until I scrolled down and saw Corvin's post that it made sense.

Heading to TRU tomorrow to pick these up and canceling my Amazon order.

Yeah, I had a mod change the title when we started discussing all the releases. The thread started out as a gripe about Tinkerbell.

Re: Tinkerbell + B&tB + Toy Story 3 = $30 total at Toys R Us

So assuming we didn't preorder anything.

Later this week:
- Pre Order TS3 $5
B&TB $23
DMR coupn -$10
TS3 discount -$10
total: $8

November:
TS3- $25
TS3 coupon (??) -$10
Preorder -$5
total: $10

Total cost- $18 for both movies, with a possible repeat when Fantasia comes out. How would a toy story 3 coupon work? The other films were DVD upgrade coupons.

Re: Tinkerbell + B&tB + Toy Story 3 = $30 total at Toys R Us

Disney has put out $10 off coupons for first time releases, like Princess and the Frog and I believe Up also had one, so there is a good chance.

I'm hoping Toys R Us has a preorder for Fantasia, but it's gonna stink that Disney is probably only going to offer a $10 off Fantasia when its two movies (greedy I know)

Re: Tinkerbell + B&tB + Toy Story 3 = $30 total at Toys R Us

So, I have a question... I already pre-ordered BatB when I bought TB3. If BatB is $23, is it still gonna be possible to use all the discounts? Here's why I ask.

+$22.99 - BatB
-$5.00 - BatB deposit
-$10.00 - DMR coupon
-$10.00 - TS3 discount
+$5.00 - TS deposit
+2.99 - TOTAL

It comes out to a positive amount. But, taking out the $5.00 paid for the TS3 pre-order, the discounts total more than the value of the movie.

This morning, I was thinking "no", but now that I take a closer look at previous receipts for deals using multiple discounts, I think "maybe".

Here is why:

1) The item itself must end up greater than $0 in the main column.

2) The way the cost (in the main column) for BatB will be is:
$22.99 - $5.00 (BatB pre-order)
$17.99 - $10.00 (TS3 pre-order discount)
Cost of item in main column: $7.99

3) The Disney coupon is not taken off of the item ... it is listed as a separate entry on the receipt: "Vendor Coupon", so it does not directly impact the listed cost of BatB.

The only caveat, as others have noted, is that the $10 TS3 pre-order discount does state that it takes it off a movie $19.99 or higher ... so they could get us on a technicality.

If the TS3 pre-order discount is not allowed with the BatB pre-order, it is almost better to write off the BatB pre-order and use the TS3 pre-order discount with the Vendor coupon.

Re: Tinkerbell + B&tB + Toy Story 3 = $30 total at Toys R Us

so, we should just return/get our 5bucks back on the batb preorder and just by batb & preorder toys3 again. would that be the procedure for the preorders? actually, when i picked up tink four days after the release..the store manager & cs had a corp. memo sent down..specifically to not scan the gcard and the ring up procedure. one store knew how to handle this perhaps other stores wanted to ignore the corp memo and pretend ignorance!! Maybe, we need to ask 4 this transaction specifics & memos on purchasing

In theory, if the BatB pre-order and the TS3 pre-order discount work together, I think they are about the same ...

With BatB pre-order:
$22.99 - $5 (BatB preorder) - $10 (TS3 pre-order discount) - $10 (Coupon) + $5 (TS3 pre-order) = $2.99 (with $5 toward TS3)

Cost of BatB = $2.99 ($2.99 + $5 paid previously for pre-order less $5 toward TS3)

Without BatB pre-order:
$22.99 - $10 (TS3 pre-order discount) - $10 (Coupon) + $5 (TS3 pre-order) = $7.99 (with $5 toward TS3)

Cost of BatB = $2.99 ($7.99 less $5 toward TS3)

So, actually both methods end up with the same out of pocket cost. The only difference is if you pre-ordered BatB, you received $10 off a previous purchase ... there is no impact to the cost of BatB.

Does anybody here went to TRU Time Square New York if they already accepting pre-order of TS3? I went there 2 days ago and they still didn't have the TS3 pre-ordered card and they don't accept pre-order without the card... So ridiculous!

I'm shocked that B&TB is only $22.99! I'm heading out now to do my pick-up/pre-order. The way it looks, anything more than $2.99 out-of-pocket today is a hose-job.

Based on reading the $10 BatB Coupon thread, TRU has their act together this time and all is working well (pre-orders, pre-order discounts and coupons).

$2.99 + tax, out the door.

Anyone know why TRU didn't do a pre-order special with Fantasia, A Christmas Carol and The Sorcerer's Apprentice?

Too soon maybe? Perhaps on 11/2 when TS3 comes out, they will be another pre-order opportunity.

Re: Tinkerbell + B&tB + Toy Story 3 = $30 total at Toys R Us

Inadvertantly scored an extra $5 off on this today. Went in having pre-ordered 1 copy already and decided to get a 2nd copy as well. Figured my total out the door would have been $10.98+tax today. After everything was rang up with tax the total was $7.49 only. Obviously puzzled and I even mentioned to the clerk, but doubt he heard me that I figure my total was going to be about $13. Walked out the door and looked at my receipt still unable to figure out until I saw it. The register took the $5 pre-order amount off both copies of BaTB today as if I had done 2 pre-orders back when I got Tinkerbell when I had not.

Hopefully they will have pre-orders out for Fantasia as that is really the only other one I want when TS3 comes out.

Man, this is sweet. So far I've paid 7.99 and gotten tinkerbell, B&tB and a $10 gift card. Can't wait for TS3 to come out!

Re: Tinkerbell + B&tB + Toy Story 3 = $30 total at Toys R Us

Picked up BATB and pre-ordered TS3 this morning. I never got TB. $9.43 (after tax) - $5 gift card I had left over = $4.43 out the door.

Unless people are mistaken on exactly how much they are paying ("$7.99 + tax" or "$2.99 + tax"), I don't understand how my TRU seems to always apply tax before ALL the discounts have been applied. Not complaining, but just curious. $9.43 after CA tax of 9.75% is NOT $7.99 + tax.

Re: Tinkerbell + B&tB + Toy Story 3 = $30 total at Toys R Us

My TRU gave me more shit today. More bullshit along the lines of not taking a manufacturer's coupon and getting the TRU $10 off deal. I asked for my $5 back then, so I can go elsewhere. The clerk walked me over to the CS desk and asked them to take the $10 off and threw up her arms in frustration before walking back to the electronics dept. Nice service! So I did get it for $3 and change after all.

I'm going to a different TRU to pick up TS3 if there ends up being a Fantasia offer.
