Same here. Closest TRU is half an hour in the opposite direction for me. And the last thing my daughter needs is another jewelry box. So no real incentive for me to cancel my Amazon order. $12 shipped to my door was good enough for me.

I would like to buy Beauty and the Beast and Toy Story 3. What is the best and cheapest method?

I too am curious as to what is the best method for buying just these two titles. I have no interest in Tinkerbell.

From looking at my original receipt and the new one, I have no idea how this worked out.

1) What I do see is that on the original receipt, TB is listed as $15 (29.99-10Batb-4.99TBpreorder), so I was charged tax on $15. Actually, in total, I was charged tax on $16.39 ($1.27), but using none of the numbers on the receipt could I actually calculate that number.

2) On the second receipt, they returned TB for a refund of $5, but then charged me $0.01 for Tinkerbell. So, I think they refunded tax ($1.16) on the FULL $15 from the original receipt.

To let some people know, in the inserts, there are no coupons of any kind.

In other news, there is a new Tinkerbell movie coming to Blu-ray and DVD Fall of next Year. TINKERBELL AND THE MYSTIOUS WINTER WOODS.

Re: Tinkerbell + B&tB + Toy Story 3 = $30 total at Toys R Us

Worked out great for me. I pre-ordered TB this past Saturday. Today I went in and came out with TB + $10 GC + Digital Watch + TS3 pre-order and it didn't cost me a cent. Not sure how that is possible, but the guy just took my manufacturer's coupon and pre-order slip and said, "here you go and you don't owe us anything." I felt like I was in The Shining, ala, "Your money is no good here Mr. Torrance." The receipt looks ridiculous and makes NO SENSE but all I care about is I got a lot of free shit today

Doesn't surprise me one bit. I think most of the cashiers are confused as hell when combining all of these promos together. I give them props for trying to find a way to do it! It's just funny that every store seems to be doing it differently. Well, I have no complaints. For those that got shot down on combining the promotions, I hope you come across another bargain that makes up for it. And for those that got the deals to work, I raise my glass and toast! Gotta love TRU, and gotta love Disney for all the great coupons...

^ Yea, I didn't make out as great as others this time around, but I did score two sets of TS1&2 for .92 each with a load of coupons not too long ago at TRU.

Re: Tinkerbell + B&tB + Toy Story 3 = $30 total at Toys R Us

I picked up my TB today and had to go through three people, and two transactions (they forgot the giftcard in the first transaction!) but the employees were all very polite and accepted the disney rewards coupon, applied the $10 off promo, and the $5 off 25 coupon as well. I was picking up some toys for my son with their various buy 2 get 1 free promotions so I am guessing that helped with applying all of the coupons. To top it off I used $5 in rewards promotions so this turned out to be a great deal and I am looking forward to getting BaTB cheap. Thanks DVDTalkers!

Re: Tinkerbell + B&tB + Toy Story 3 = $30 total at Toys R Us

Just got back from TRU. I walked all over the store trying to find something for $5 or so that I would want or need, but just couldn't find anything worth it. I ended up in electronics which is where I had to pick up the blu-rays (they didn't put them up for the pre-order people). The girl who rang me up was real nice and rang everything up and was shocked at the price. I told her it should be $5 something and she said it was $1.20 (or something like that). Then she realized she scan the gift card. That brought it to $11.20. She was nice enough to try and re-ring it several times, trying to figure out the issue. Then I decided to throw in a pack of batteries to see what would happen. I picked up the $9.99 Duracells that were on sale. The total came to $16.38 after tax. She seemed bummed at first that it didn't work, but then I realized it was right because $10 of it should be the batteries. So if I was expecting $5 something and add the $10 in batteries plus tax, it made sense to me. So I rang up two transactions (I pre-ordered 2 TBs) for $16.38. I remarked "I wonder if I could just return the batteries", and when she finished the first transaction she looked at the receipt and saw that it was listed separately at $9.99 so she said "it looks you should be able to." So adding something to the mix definitely helps. As other people have said, it is the gift card that's messing things up. The "balance due" is taking $10 off, the BatB pre-order is taking another $10 off, then when they ring up the gift card, it takes the $10 off of the movie instead of the gift card (for reasons that make sense, and others have mentioned here). So that's $30 off of a $29.99 movie. Throw in the $10 coupon, and it really freaks out. But the way mfg coupons work is that they just check to see if the item has been purchased and the receipt total (which usually doesn't include taxes) is equal to or above the coupon amount. So since you already have $5 toward BatB, you just need another $5 item to get the total to $10. But like others said, they have had no problem returning the items they purchased.

It's probably YMMV depending on the cashier, but lots of people reported that they were able to cancel Snow White pre-orders without returning the steelbook.

I had no problem getting a full refund. There's nothing on the receipt about the case, so unless the clerk is aware of that specific deal, it should be no problem.

Aren't these promotions even worded that you get the steelbook for pre-ordering, with nothing being said about completing the purchase?

It definitely reads like that, and in the fine print it says something along the lines of "the receipt may be refunded at customer service." That being said, I had no problem getting refunded on the 2 copies I picked up.

I don't think you can, at this point, get the $10 gift card for Tinkerbell, though, since it's no longer a preorder...

But they might still get a deal by purchasing BatB at TRU and get an additional $10 off by pre-ordering TS3 and maybe save even more if they want to purchase a Disney movie today (whether it be Tink or something else). If they can't get their money back from the Best Buy order, though, it may not be worth it.

Corporate called me back about the $10 gift card. No dice. They gave me the same spiel about no coupons on promotional offers.

Unfortunately that puts my out of pocket at $15 for Tink. Not awful, but not great. B&tB for $5 will help bring that down though.

They better send me mine since they told me they would. This is a real wishy washy thing claiming that we can't have the promised gift card when it was part of a promotion for pre-ordering and not the actual payment of the disc on pickup day. This promotion should have nothing to do with how you actually resolve the balance due on pickup day. It's a real crock of shit in my opinion.

Thanks for the tip on this. I was able to find that coupon and got Tink for 7.99.

Re: Tinkerbell + B&tB + Toy Story 3 = $30 total at Toys R Us

The lesson learned for sure here is not to do 1 of these deals if a GC is involved. Unless of course we simple take into account that we have to spend on whatever transaction involves at least the value of said GC. Once all is said and done it will still be a good deal. Just not as good as it could have been. Now I am just wondering if they sneak in a BATB coupon for $8 like they did back with the Toy Story films. We had the $10 upgrade and then a $8 regular just off. I know at least my TRU accepted both.

Re: Tinkerbell + B&tB + Toy Story 3 = $30 total at Toys R Us

In case anyone still hasn't picked up their TB3 yet, they (kind of) have this working. Corporate sent out a memo and the front end should have it. It involves ringing up the balance order w/o the gift card, then doing a second transaction (using the receipt of the previous balance due transaction) to generate the gift card. Walked out w/ TB3 & BaTB pre-order for $6.xx (well, $16 including the original $10 pre-order) plus a $10.88 GC. The manager said corporate really didn't care about stacking the coupon with the "$10 off w/ Disney pre-rder" TRU promo because it was a manufacturer coupon, so if you get a staunch manager, ask them about the memo. It took me longer to convince the original cashier his math was incorrect than it did for the manager to ring everything up.
