DDD, Thank you.....and are you listening?

Here I am once again placing my semi-annual HUGE order to DDD breaking my "fun-money" budget ($1500 order).

And here I am to once again thank DDD for these great sales and to be able to put so many great titles into my collection.

And......here I am as usual twice a year to grumble and ask DDD to PLEASE do some DESPERATELY NEEDED reconfiguring of their web site!!

The item in GREATEST NEED of updating is when after selecting a dvd category (ACTION; HORROR; DRAMA and etc.) at which time you will be presented an alpha-meric list for title selection. Selecting any category will only yield/load only FIVE TITLES PER PAGE!!!
If one wants to browse EVERY title of a given category, you will have to load literally hundreds of times, with five titles per page, which can take hours.

For this great semi-annual sale, I wish to look at everything in each category. It would be nice to set my display to load 50-100-200 titles at a time, at my discretion and then click on what I want (as some other dvd seller's web sites allow). This would save ENOURMOUS amounts of time.

Didja ever notice that you can place dozens of titles on your WISHLIST and browse them all as a single page? Why can't they do that for title lookup selections???

To a lesser extent, someone needs to know how to place titles within the database. I reference titles beginning with the word 'THE'. These should NOT be placed under 'T' but under the letter of the next word in the title.

DDD are you listening to the praise as well as the long-standing relatively simple (and logical) requests from your customers?

This is my biggest complaint.

There's no way I'm going to look at 42 pages of M's under Comedy. I should have the option of how many titles I want to see per page, an elementary website function that even Blockbuster has.

I would have bought many more DVDs at each sale if I could have perused the titles instead of having to know what I was looking for first. I would think that's a fairly basic marketing concept.

Magazine Subscriptions at checkout

Hi. Has anyone tried those magazine subscriptions after checkout? Is it $2 per subscription or are there any hooks? Just wondering if it's a big fat scam..
Thanks

After the last sale in June I called DDD and outlined this problem. I also suggested to them that their sales would increase if they could make this change. Unfortunately I could only talk with the "front-line" phone people who were sympathetic. The individual I spoke with went on the site while I was on the phone and she zeroed in on what I was saying. She said "You're right....I never noticed that before". I told her that it really becomes noticible when one is trying to wholesale look at ALL of the titles, not when one looks up individual titles. She said that she'd pass along my "suggestion".

Well here we are six months later. Is there ANYTHING we can do to get our thoughts known to the right people at DDD?

I'm sure they've gotten more than their share of feedback on their search function, which actually was upgraded recently. Someone in management apparently decided it wasn't worth the money to do a wholesale redesign of the search function, which they must be aware is sorely needed.

I wonder if the whole site is undergoing a redesign, so they're holding off doing major work on just the search component. That's what has happened on systems I've worked on...people complain about one part of it, and I have to say that part will be upgraded when the rest of the system is re-released.

No, he means to literally put "Live 8", just like that with the quotes, into the search engine.

http://search.deepdiscountdvd.com/se...w=%22live+8%22

And you'll find its the top result.

Ditto the comments above. Deepdiscountdvd, if you are reading this, I love your prices and pretty much only buy DVDs from you, but please update your search feature to allow more than five items per page. It's impossible to browse.

Anyway, here’s what I ended up ordering:

EERIE INDIANA-COMPLETE SERIES $ 16.78
MADAGASCAR (WS) $ 13.74
CRONOS (SE) $ 7.42

Tax: $2.56
Shipping: FREE
Your Total: $40.50

(tax because I live in Illinois)

Eerie Indiana and Madagascar WS are both backordered, I hope they make it here before Christmas.

There's a lot of things I'd love to buy, but needed to keep the order relatively small this time around. The Quantum Leap series and Sliders series are high on my wish list... hopefully there's a price drop sometime.

Oh, and here’s another interesting Spanish language selection:
La Oreja de Van Gogh, DVD / CD combo for under $10:
http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com/redir...fier=SON095203
I’d pick this up buy I already have a couple of their CDs and a DVD of their videos / some concert footage.

You could always pick up Madagascar at Target for $14.99 and hold on to the receipt. If the DDD one doesn't arrive in time, just return it and you're only out $1.XX. If it does arrive, return the Target buy.

If you can't see the coupon field on the shopping cart page, log out of the site and then clear cookies. It should be there when you log back in.

Dammit, I couldn't stand it any longer. My third (and REALLY my last) order-

LIVE 8 1 $25.92

I had intended to wait till I find it cheaper down the road, but I'm guessing that will be a long time off so I just bit the bullet......didn't do SO bad though......four box sets and 6 single titles for about $165 over three orders

I read where that happened to someone else. I think you have to log out then back in. Rather than to go through the entire order, selct one title, then enter the code to see if it give you the discount. You can always go back and add more before checking out. I kept ona page of orders for several days before checking out. It saved all titles plus the discount code.

Better hurry, its almost over.

Anchorman is $6.99 at jr.com.

BTW, I agree, DDD's search sucks. Also I know of a couple DVD's that show the wrong cover. Also last time I ordered by phone and they sent the wrong DVD, which was a pain in the ass to exchange.
