Yaeh, agreed. It must be very difficult. That's why I'm totaly cool with however longs it takes (plus free shipping is a bonus), but when they just outright totally canceled part of my order (in this case Psychic Academy) which was something I had really wanted it sort of angered me a bit, but I just gave them a call to see what was up with it.

Not to mention that they have to have temp workers to fill in in CS and order fulfillment during this time. Getting people trained in a short period of time, especially the kind of worker you get as a temp, must be a challenge too.

I hear what you gentlemen are talking about here ....

but sometimes it's really small things that put a roadblock on people getting their orders in.

For example: I had forgotten my password so I used the email password option and never got it. I checked bulk and everything. I tried again to see if it was a glitch ... and it still didn't send it. I hope they didn't send it to some other guy. So I had to organize my inbox by sender, and search manually for the password. Sometime in May of 2004 or something they had sent it to me. So now I am finally ready to place my order ...

That has happened to me at sites I rarely frequent BUT I don't blame the site for something clearly my fault.

May 2004??

Might have been easier for you to set up a new account.

I ordered one during the last sale but truth be told, it's still sitting in the carton awaiting assembly. I didn't really need it before. That will change with the new additions from this sale.

The box is about 1x1x4' and weighs in like a solid block of wood. The UPS guy almost got a hernia from carrying it to the door. When I get around to building it, I'll probably add the shelves to the upright frame. It might take two to tilt the finished assembly off the floor. There was no shipping charge and surprisingly no tax since it was delivered to my northern CA home from a southern CA warehouse. Good luck with your new project!

Cmon, what's more important? Car insurance, or DVD's? If you're sitting at home watching your DVD's, you don't need to drive anywhere!!! Get your priorities straight!

I just received my 2nd order, in full. My first order, which was placed 3 days earlier and for many more titles, has yet to ship. I know they're busy filling orders, but they should at least do them in the order they were placed! My first order was done on the first day, and nothing was out of stock until the last couple of days...

Well, if all goes according to plan, I can sell my house in time for the next sale. I can live in my car with a portable DVD player.

At least Amazon upgraded me to Prime for 3 months free so I'm getting free 2nd day shipping.
How the heck did that happen? Me want. But I get all my free shipping orders in 2-3 days anyway...

Which is kinda why I'm glad the sale is earlier this year. Last year I ordered a bunch of things as holiday gifts which ended up on "backorder". I got them AFTER Christmas.

This year, I doubt I will have to worry about that.

And BTW - they do go NUTS at that fulfillment center. Last sale I got Bewitched S1 in color instead of B&W, and the customer service rep apologized profusely (understanding fully why I was upset/unhappy with the COLORIZED version!). She confirmed my suspicion that the warehouse was going bonkers trying to get everything packed and shipped. Got everything easily and quickly resolved. I hope S2 arrives B&W with my 1st order this time around!

First (and likely last) order:

ASTAIRE & ROGERS COLL V.01 $ 33.11 In-stock
VAL LEWTON HORROR COLLECTIO $ 33.47 In-stock
EXORCIST-25TH ANNIVERSARY $ 7.19 Backorder
THIN MAN COLLECTION (7PK), $ 33.47 In-stock
WIZARD OF OZ (3D/COLLECTORS $ 27.87 Backorder

Merchandise Total: $ 364.65

If I was smart I would've split this up since I'm not planning on placing another order (to lessen the likelihood of box damage) -- but I guess I'm not so smart since I forgot about that until now. I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm too late for the Exorcist -- that they were clearing out the old version, and that there won't be more on the way. Not too bad considering last sale I spent over $1000. Plus, there are a number of Christmas gifts for others in here. I just have to keep straight the DVDs. It wouldn't do me good to have my mom open a present and instead of "Oklahoma" get "Strip Nude for Your Killer"

Will they price match Amazon? I want Futurama V.4 , DDD has it at 34.81, Amazon has it at 24.97. If they will match, can anyone tell me how to do it?

Here's my second order:

THE SONG OF BERNADETTE $ 8.26
ENEMY AT THE GATES $ 4.79
CODE 46 $ 7.29

I was going to buy "Lagaan" but here as with other items, it's several dollars cheaper from Amazon (provided you guy something else to get free shipping). If you're interested in something a little different -- a Bollywood spectacle -- check out the viewer reviews on Amazon's "Lagaan" page.

I've read each post since thread one... what an ecclectic group we are.

Interesting point, I've only gotten a couple of damaged cases...both on larger orders. I try to avoid ordering digipack style cases online for this reason... keepcases I can always replace.
