Did you happen to order anything that was in stock but has since gone out of stock and you still got it shipped to you? This is a huge relief to me as I've stated somewhere in the thread that one disc I ordered has seemingly gone OOP and I'm hoping they saved me a copy even though my order was also placed on the 11th, but hasn't shipped. I don't quite understand why they'd ship items the way they seemingly do (out of order), but all will be forgiven assuming I get the disc I rightfully should have.

That'd be me. I did this same project in June, but didn't decide on doing it until after the sale was ending. It took me about a week to go through all the threads and cut the orders into a file that the program I wrote could go through. This time, I started making that file at the very beginning and have been updating it every morning. So far, the file (a simple text file) is up to 233K, and the total spent is over $100K. I'll post the totals when she sale ends, and then probably do it one or two more times when the final posts trickle in.

I did, sort of. I won't get the order until tomorrow, so obviously I can't say for sure until then.

My first order that was sitting around for a few days was made up of all instock items. When I checked the order on Sunday, one came up as Backordered. Still was on Backorder on Monday when I sent an email to them about the order. When I got the notice it had shipped, that item was listed as having shipped with the order.

So, while it was indeed Backordered, my order was one of the ones that had made them go out of stock. We'll see for sure when I get the order tomorrow. The inventory software should be tracking how many of an item are instock, so when they pull yours for the order, it will of course decrease the number. It's very possible they have had your order open and working on it for awhile, which could mean the DVD they put in your shipping box is the one that made it go out of stock.

Yeah, they added it, but they're also showing a "release date" of 11/22/05 -- after the sale is over. And this is not a price drop. The $29.95 MSRP they're showing is the same price it was released at on 10/26/99. Apparently they don't want to include it in the 20% off sale.

That's weird. I bought Stop Making Sense during last years 20% Off sale and the discount did apply. And this is a great concert DVD. I highly recommend it.

I agree. One of the best concert films ever.

Since they only recently re-added it to their site, it's possible that they're going through another distributor this year, and the price is so high they can't put it on sale.

I've had orders that remain instock and are shipped fairly quickly. But others I've placed that have backordered items take longer to get the shipped email. So I'm assuming they wait a while longer to see if they can ship the entire order.

Lots of times I've expected the same thing you stated above, but if you check your order status regularly on their website, they'll tell you what they do. I've gotten disappointed twice already with an item listed as backordered and then one day I check and see it's been cancelled or no longer available, even though it was ordered on time, when it was still instock.
