Amazon has lowered its price to $26.97. Still can't get off the fence on this one, though.

Well they are backordered now. So that might make it easier for you to decide.

Nah. I can still order them. I'd just have to wait for shipment. This does nothing to actually deter me.

Just under $20 after the 20% off. Three miniseries worth of westerns (somewhere at 14 or 15 hours long in total). And read the reviews, Lonesome Dove at least is a highly acclaimed miniseries.

What, no Return to Lonesome Dove? They actually had returning actors for that one... well, Chris Cooper and Rick Schroeder anyway. But it had a pretty decent cast for what it was (Reese Witherspoon, William Petersen, Barbara Hershey, Dennis Haysbert, Oliver Reed, etc.).

Why would that make much of a difference? The discount still applies, the items can still be had.

Jump off that fence!

Seriously, this is a wildly entertaining show (especially for that price). I just wanted to apply a bit of pressure, since I'd want someone to pressure me if I hadn't seen Firefly and was debating a purchase.

For anybody on the fence about Firefly I'd recomend it. It would most likely be the DVD I'd keep if I had to pick from my collection. Not too Sci-fi not too western and an amazing cast. I got it right after it came out and watched the entire thing in a weekend including the commentary. I've rewatched it a couple of times since, even rewatched some of the commentary. If you want to check it out first I think it comes of Scifi Fridays at 7.

I know! That's why I want it! And it'd take up less space on my TV shelf!

These are important aesthetic considerations.

Oh you can order it, but there is no guarantee that they will get it back in. It is supposed to be limited edition. But you never know, maybe they will.

Maybe being out of luck makes me want it that much more. I'm broke, dammit. Broke!

If I ordered something that was backordered, I would still get the 20% off, right?

I was wanting to order Eerie, Indiana, but it's on backorder.

Thanks for the pointer. I wanted to sample before deciding but couldn't find it on the local Fox affiliate. Now I know where to look.

I'll post the totals when she sale ends, and then probably do it one or two more times when the final posts trickle in.
What sort of figures are you planning to run? I tried searching, but couldn't find any sort of previous post from in June. I'm curious what sort of stuff you'll be running.

Uggh, I ordered this on the 12th for $41.85 (pre-discount), and now it is back up to $37.21 (pre-discount) ;( I'll have to see if I can at least get that $3 or so back.

Just checked everything else, and that is the only item that has had a price drop since I ordered. Stewie Griffin went up to $28.56 (I ordered at $21.79), but that's the only other change.

Okay, now I have seen THE PINKY VIOLENCE collection in person at Best Buy, so it's not just other online vendors that have it shipping now. The release date was yesterday, but DDD still has it listed for 1/1/06.

Hopefully they will fix this so the discount will work.

I made my first order early on the 11th, and UPS attempted to deliver it today. While I appreciate them bumping my order up to UPS, I second a previous poster's preference for USPS. Living in an apartment, UPS, FedEX and DHL are all quite annoying, as anything would get stolen if I allowed them to just leave it there (someone stole my free cookies, damnit!), and I'm never available to receive it. At least UPS lets you easily change the delivery address of a package after a missed delivery attempt (to a business address, for example). USPS is definitely preferred as they can use the lockboxes and whatnot.

Second Order:

1 ATA435182 1080 CD OSKAR $ 100.76 Backorder
1 BVD039661 DVD : LOST-1ST SEASON $ 29.49 In-stock
1 FXD021805 DVD : MILLENNIUM-SEASON 3 $ 33.48 In-stock
1 FXD030789 DVD : FAMILY GUY PRESENTS STEWIE $ 17.43 In-stock
1 HBD092429 DVD : CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM-4TH SE $ 22.37 In-stock
1 MCA027340 DVD : JERK (26TH ANNIVERSARY), TH $ 11.19 In-stock
1 MGD004203 DVD : ROAD HOUSE $ 7.29 In-stock
1 NTD000704 DVD : DIFFERENT STROKES-UR $ 4.79 Backorder
1 SON034819 DVD : LEGEND OF ZELDA-ANIMATED SE $ 14.35 In-stock
1 WBD006955 DVD : HARVEY BIRDMAN ATTORNEY AT $ 18.71 In-stock

Third Order:

1 BVD039998 DVD : SCRUBS-2ND SEASON $ 22.31 In-stock
1 COL011065 DVD : BROWN BUNNY (SUPERBIT), THE $ 9.10 In-stock
1 FXD001650 DVD : BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER $ 5.74 In-stock
1 FXD030640 DVD : KINGDOM OF HEAVEN (WS/2DISC $ 13.51 In-stock
1 MCA021780 DVD : MULHOLLAND DRIVE $ 7.91 New-Price
1 MCA025850 DVD : SKELETON KEY (WS), THE $ 14.70 Backorder

I've since discovered that Kingdom of Heaven will be $9.99 on BlackFriday, but oh well, $3 is worth the hassle avoidance
