June 17th. I'd assume at midnight June 18th eastern time even though it may be central. Maybe someone knows for sure what time zone.

I bought my previous two from racks and stands.com using a 10% coupon and the total for each was $199, so DDD's price of $159 is a nice steal. I asked racks if they could price match and all they could do was $187. So anyway, my point is go for it.

Thanks petrco!

I was on the edge, but you've helped to push me over. :-)

Sounds like a good deal. I think I may need 3 of them now...

The highest dvd count per rack we could get was 504 of the standard single cases (18 per row X 7 rows per side X 4 sides), the 600 figure must have invovled just placing as many dvds in the rack as possible without any shelves. The holes for the shelf pins are 1 1/4" apart and go the full length of the sides, except for 6" at the top and bottom, so adjusting shelf height to suit your needs is simple. You'll have extra shelves and pins left over if you are using the rack strictly for dvds. Though each shelf is just deep enough for a standard dvd the end of the shelf is backset about 1/2" from the side so putting a slightly deeper case is not a problem.
Thanks PT1015!

Another great response, DDD must be happy with us. hehe.

I'm doing an order for 3 of those nice spinners. DVDTalk...a great forum!

DDD Calculator Update for 6/16

Number of orders = 814
Number of items = 7220
Total = $122853.03
Average number of items = 8
Average per order = $150.93
Average per item = $17.02

One more major update to go, and then a few more over the course of next week when other people's posts trickle in.

****

And to those people who wait to order unti the last minute, don't! It never ceases to amaze me that people wait until 11:55PM to order and then get pissed that they missed out. Go ahead and place those orders today, and don't miss out on these great prices!

****

...And I just wanted to thank DDD for having the best sale of the year once again!

Have you seen Infection? It's the first part of the J-Horror series that Lion's Gate is releasing. Premonition is the second installment. They have nothing to do with each other, though....just thought you might be interested, it's a pretty good film.

I really hate to break it to you, but that version is nowhere near the quality of the MGM double-feature. Not even in the same ball park. And with the MGM, you also get an entire extra film (Panic in Year Zero), for only $3 more.

And the "TV Pilot" on that DVD is The Left Fist of David, which has nothing to do with Last Man on Earth, other than also starring Vincent Price (who along with Peter Lorre, plays an art appraiser).

My second and last order:
GOSPEL OF JOHN, THE $ 11.13 In-stock
HIS GIRL FRIDAY $ 15.31 In-stock
IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST $ 17.99 In-stock
LOWER DEPTHS (CRITERION), T $ 23.99 In-stock
TWILIGHT ZONE-1ST SEASON-DE $ 70.19 In-stock
FRIED GREEN TOMATOES (ANNIV $ 11.28 In-stock
Total for this Order: $ 149.89

Amazed that, this late in the game, everything is still in stock. Granted, I haven't seen the above discs exactly being blown out the door...

For those interested, I highly recommend "The Gospel of John," a word-for-word (recent) depiction of, well, the Gospel of John. Great direction, acting, very well done.

Items 2-4 were discs highlighted in a recent Time Magazine story.

andAh well, to each his own.
I'll preface this post by saying that I love Cemetery Man. At the very least, I think it's one of the top ten movies of the 90s and one of the best executions of the horror/comedy genre.

That said, I'm still shocked it's receiving so much attention. In old DVD Talk threads clamoring for a decent R1 release, there've been only a couple handfuls of people chiming in. I'm getting the feeling that the few rabid Dellamorte Dellamore fans have influenced hundreds of blind buys. And to be sure, many people will not love this movie. I don't mean that to be a challenge to anyone's cinematic sensibilities but just that this movie isn't going to be for everyone. EuroCult cinema is often very cool... but few films ever get this kind of treatment. Because of the timing of the sale with it's relase and the fact it's just a helluva cool cult flick, the blind buyers swarm... and with good reason. But I bet for everyone one that finds a new jewel for their collection, there will be just as many that put it up on Ebay, posthaste.

yeah, so caved and added one more order to finish picking up the movies I forgot with the first order of movies that I forgot. Follow?

MCA025821 DVD : SHAUN OF THE DEAD $ 7.48
WBD058671 DVD : KISS KISS BANG BANG $ 15.31

Frankly, I don't understand how I forgot Kiss Kiss in my last order. Probably too excited about Dellamorte Dellamore.

Hmm, hold off to pay more elsewhere ... interesting strategy. I think the fumes off of Silas Deane Highway are getting to you.

When someone first posted about it here, I had no intention of getting it, but at some point I read up on it at IMDB (7.4/10) and Amazon and the reviews I saw were pretty favorable. The reviews at Rotton Tomatoes are just so-so (and the "cream of the crop" ones are all bad) but horror is one genre that I don't think regular critics are reliable for (there's just a lot who hate almost all of it). I like zombie movies, and it's unlikely I'll be able to rent it anywhere around my house, so I decided for under $10 I'd give it a shot. If I don't end up liking it it's not too big a deal--I can skip my latte a couple of days

For those who are asking when the sale ends, why not spend the same time and go to DDD and place the order that you're obviously worried about placing after the sale ends? Just a suggestion.
