Is it just my store or has anyone else seen a lot of these? I'd be tempted to buy it if the store goes to 70% off --that is, if its still there.
Yeah, the C&T set was still stocked aplenty at the 122nd store in Portland when I was there last week, along with a few copies of Tony Orlando & Dawn. There are certain parts of my childhood I just don't want to relive!

I was at the 102nd store yesterday. They still had all of the Captain & Tenille, Tony Orlando & Dawn and about 11 sets of Strong Medicine.

I ended up with a couple UMD movies for $5 each. Went back again last Sunday and found nothing of worth. I had a Final Destination 3 in my hand but put it back. There was a FS SW:ESB but I put that back, too.

i bought the mondo macabro disc of Panic Beats at the nashville store for ten bucks. also grabbed derailed for the wife. they had another Paul Naschy title i had never seen called Devil's Possesed, but I took a pass as it looked one step up from a poor bootleg.

only other disc i saw that interested me was the swarm at 19.99 - 60% Even at 8 bucks it seemed a bit steep, as that title is destined for either the dump bin or a double feature disc.

i was hoping to grab a Napolean Dynamite tin as a gift, but they were out. Odd since it was everywhere just a few days back

I too was hoping to get a napoleon dynamite tin... I even asked an employee where they all went... he said once they marked them down to $15.00 about 8 days ago, they flew out...

They were $19.99 at my Tower today with only a few left; I'm cheap, I still thought that was too much

According to the store, their last day will be Tuesday. Current mark downs are 70% of cd's, 60% off dvd's, all Pop/Rock/Soul cd's are $4.99 and various other specials throughout the store.

Hot damn! $4.99 for rock CDs? Does anyone in Northern Cali (Bay Area/Sacramento/Valley) know what kind of deals are going down around here right now?

How funny....I bought both today as an afterthought...$4.99 is a deal for these- Captain & Tenille, Tony Orlando & Dawn....
each store seems to have their own little deals...Picked up the soundtrack Last of the Mohicans for 50 cents for instance which is awesome. There are still some Criterions out there too and if they are still there at 70 or 80% I'll get them.
Anyone been to the Long Beach or Anaheim Tower..too lasy to go so far...

That's hilarious. I saw that exact same fullscreen copy of SW: ESB on Tuesday night. My Mom brought it over to me thinking that I might want it (she still hasn't quite grasped the whole Widescreen vs. Fullscreen thing).

Yeah, I think that was established a few pages back, but I meant that since they are sending out an e-mail to everyone, the final closing of the B&M stores is imminent.

So of all the stores, what is the biggest discount we are seeing for CDs and DVDs?

Right now the local store is still at 70% off both today. Someone mentioned all pop/rock CDs at $4.99, but since most CDs are around $18.99 or so, that's only between 70-80%.

I stopped in the Tustin store last night. All music DVDs are 6.99, all jazz CDs are $3.99. I actually found the deluxe edition of Whitesnake Live: In the Still of the Night. Last copy. Not a single other DVD title of interest. I may still wander in on the final day just to see what special deals they have.

Bummer...we'll be passing through Nashville and Memphis on 12/22, but all of them will be closed by then. Memphis is already gone, Nashville Opry Mills closes 12/19, and Nashville West End closes 12/20.

last night (friday) brea store had 7 days left.
Nothing there for me. The dvds were picked clean but still only 60%. You never know there might be a nugget in there but not worth sifting throught the trash to find it for 60%. They still had a ton of the napoleon dynamites as well priced at $20. $10 and maybe ill own the silly movie.
