I placed a pre-order for "The Big Trail" back in May with DD, and after it was shipped, didn't recieve it for 3 weeks. Not sure why Media Mail is taking so long lately, but I'm thinking these orders will take about the same length of time to arrive.

My order shipped out on 6/10 and I just received it today, so it took about a week. That was with free shipping. A little longer then usual but not bad.

I'm in NC and my order shipped for free on 6/9 and arrived today, 6/17.

I remember previous sales where people's order wouldn't even ship out for 3-4 days on in-stock items. Then, the order arrived surprisingly fast, typically within 3-4 days.

Is it possible that DD is telling us that our orders have shipped before they actually do? Theoretically, once an order is picked up by the USPS, it should take a set amount of time for it to arrive. I'll bet that the delay is on DD's side and not the USPS.

I'm in Illinois, just a couple of hours away from DD & still haven't received my first orders. Granted I think it's only been about a week or so since my first orders, but usually even with Media Mail I would get my order within a few days since I'm right here in Illinois. I ordered something from a seller on Amazon from Arizona & it was sent Media & I got it in just a couple of days. I think they, DD, are generating shyipping notices when the orders are only just packaged. Who knows how long it is before the orders actually ship.

That's why you use a credit card.

I dont believe this is the case otherwise they would have some good deals and I cant find much anymore with them. However I am a bit suprised that Deepdiscount hasn't responded to any of the negativity going on.

Really? If anything, they've been having too many good deals recently... The Kino 50% off sale, the Anchor Bay B1G1 free sale, the MGM/Fox B1G1 free sale - they were all pretty fantastic deals in my opinion. I'm about to order the complete "The Prisoner" for a little under $40 - more than $15 cheaper than anywhere else I've seen online. That seems like a good deal. In fact, pretty much every order I've made during this sale has seemed like a good deal.

The point being, you do have to look around and compare, and you can't expect everything to be cheaper - but there are plenty of good deals to be found here.

As for the "negativity going on" - it happens every sale. I'm sure they're extremely busy right now, and it probably is best not to expect them to show up and respond to every complaint - especially in a thread as long as this one. That may have been something they've done in the past (I don't remember) - but it doesn't seem like something we should expect. But maybe that's just me.

I'm also not a fan of the slow shipping (my orders from the Kino sale just showed up last week)
Let me clarify I meant good deals this 20% sale. I may be wrong but seems like this sale has a lot less postings of some great deals. And you may not think that since they haven't posted in 12 days thats normal. They were much more acive during the pasts sales.

Sorry, I guess I misunderstood you. I thought you were suggesting that they hadn't had any good deals at all recently - which I simply couldn't agree with.

I do agree that this sale hasn't been as exciting as some past ones - mainly because, as others have mentioned, DVD prices in general have gone down. Whereas pretty much everything was once the cheapest during this sale, now there are so many other sales throughout the year (at DeepDiscount, and Amazon, and sundry other sites) that it's hard to be excited about it. You have to look around more, and pay attention throughout the year - however, this sale still offers the cheapest price on a fair number of items.

Anyways, I do wish they would respond to some of the complaints - especially about the shipping. But I imagine that they are very busy during the sale - and even though they were able to come here more often in years past, it just might not be possible now.

I'm in Wisconsin, ninety miles away and my order that shipped on 06/06 hasn't arrived yet either. Normally I'd get it within two or three days.

Did they ship on the same day?

As long as the orders make it, I'll be fine, its just a bit frustrating because you get excited about an order and dvds coming and then day after day you visit the mailbox only to have nothing. I think much of the frustration (I'm not sure I'd label it negativity) is on the fact that even though media mail is 5-10 business days, in the past we've always gotten it much quicker. DD being busy could affect how quickly the item gets packaged to be shipped, but it shouldn't affect the shipping time unless they are sending out shipping notices before they are actually ready (which wouldn't make any sense from their point of view to do). With no tracking numbers, you just don't know what's going on........ again the price for free shipping, but it was always free shipping before and we never had the delays. If shipping takes this long in November's sale (if there is one), you won't see all the comments and concern because everyone will be like, that's how it was in June and 'remember the good old days when you could order a dvd, get excited, and it would arrive before your excitement turned to frustration and wonder?

Here's a question, what do you do if you haven't received your shipment and its been the 10 business days that completes the shipping window?

I have one more order to make, but I'd kind of like to actually see something arrive in the mail first.

Nothing, you don't do anything. They'll make you wait thirty days (I think) before it's declared lost.

Idle speculation based on what? Your logic is somewhat mind-boggling, since nobody would "fatten up their bank account to pay creditors before filing for bankruptcy" since the purpose of filing for bankruptcy is to avoid having to pay your creditors.

"shit, where are the orders man ? I got a shipment notice on 6/6 and nothing yet. so much for USPS - never seen shipments handled worse than USPS. And this after increasing postal rates. Is there no accountability for USPS ? Shitty governmental organizations - yet another prime example."

Couldn't agree more. The more money you give those USPS morons the slower they are. Btw, my DDD order placed on 6/8 and shipped on 6/9 has yet to arrive in California. Unless DDD is generating bogus shipping notices...

Yeah, and Psycho 2 is one of the best 80's slasher films. It is really great. Psycho 3 is fun, and Psycho 4 gave us Mick Garris for the first time. Worth the price for part two alone.
