I was assuming that there would be a number of threads here on this now because of length. I know for Canadians the deal is cold now because of shipping, as mentioned already in the thread, but there doesn't seem to be as much overall interest as in previous years.

During the last two 20% sales I've received my orders within 2-4 business days after shipping confirmation. My first order from this sale shipped 6/5 and it arrived two days ago... I live in NC. A similar delay happened when I ordered the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull CD... and I had preordered it!
Yep, I'm noticing especially slow free delivery as well. I don't mind the delay when it comes to things I don't need to watch right away, like TV sets, but for things like Be Kind Rewind or the Men In Black Blu-rays, the 20% isn't worth it for me to wait two weeks to see them, so they're coming to me tomorrow from Amazon with Prime.

Did another order a few days ago but didn't enter it since I didn't really expect it to ship. Since one of the disks (Tale of Two Sisters) shipped yesterday I might as well post it.

TALE OF TWO SISTERS, A $ 11.90 Backorder
LADY VENGEANCE $ 12.42 Backorder

Anybody receive an order yet? I placed an order with priority shipping the day the sale started. DD said it shipped the next day, but I haven't seen it yet. I never paid for shipping with them, but if this is priority shipping to them, then I might as well not pay for it in the future.

I wonder why DeepDiscount doesn't have the Anaheim Ducks 2007 Stanley Cup Championship: Special Edition set? And did not have it the last sale, either. It's not out of print, as Amazon is selling it: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000T28PZG/

Orders that shipped on the 6th and 9th still haven't arrived (just checked the mail for today). This is the LONGEST its ever taken. Granted, I did free shipping, but I live in St. Louis and its always come within a week of shipping, usually 4 days or so. I wonder if its lost or just slow. Its kind of frustrating.

Haven't received anything yet from DD or DVDP. Went the free route with shipping and got a email from DD saying it shipped on 6-7 and from DVDP on 6-9.

Placed an order with Amazon several days later and they shipped that order on 6-12 via free shipping. Got it 2 days later on 6-14!

How could the shipping/receiving times be so different between these companies?

I agree with LostFan. This is the longest anything has ever taken with DD or DVDP even going the free way. Not gonna complain as long as I get everything but it sucks being disappointed day after day.

What's funny is this sale seems like it has been the slowest so far of all the years they have been doing this. By now both threads are up to new threads because of so many posts from orders. Seems everybody either has what they want or the economy/gas is really affecting everyone.

I'm in NY state and am still waiting for my first order (over $200) shipped on 6/4. I too have noticed that it's taking extra long for orders to arrive from both Deep Discount and DVD Planet then it did last year. Wished they would provide tracking information. (As I previoulsy posted I was able to track two TLA video orders and saw that they went from Philadephia to California first before being delivered to me in NY.) Once had a large order from DVD Planet never arrive ... waited 30 days and then contacted DVD Planet and they did send out a replacement order which arrived in less than a week. A postal clerk once told me that Media Mail packages can sit in a postal office until there is room on a truck. Then once it does arrives to your local post office, a postal carrier may not deliver it until he/she has a light load day. Not sure how true this is, but I used to find that larger orders came more quickly than smaller or 1 DVD orders, but not anymore.

I live i San Diego, CA. Had a large order ($200) and it states that it was shipped on 6/06. Still hasnt arrived. Was going to order a couple dvd's that they have for much cheaper prices than their competitors but if I dont get my dvd's by tomorrow, I will no longer do business with DDD. This concerns me because this is how business' operate when they are about to go bankrupt and/or dissolve the business, leaving the customers high and dry.

shit, where are the orders man ? I got a shipment notice on 6/6 and nothing yet. so much for USPS - never seen shipments handled worse than USPS. And this after increasing postal rates. Is there no accountability for USPS ? Shitty governmental organizations - yet another prime example.

Dont necessarily blame it on the USPS. Could very well be that DDD is having financial problems and all of the dvd's are sitting in a warehouse and they are fattening up their bank account to pay their creditors before filing for bankruptcy.

1. It's free shipping. Upgrade if you are impatient.
2. Once the package leaves DD, I don't think any of us can really answer as to why it takes this long to get the items. It's consistently takes about 2 weeks for me to get my stuff here in CT. I know this and still order from them, as I'll take cheap prices any day.
