May not be combined with other “total purchase” coupons, or corporate, classroom, or other group discounts.
Discount combines with all sale pricing and in-store promotions.

All I know is that you would have to hand over two coupons, the 30% off one item coupon and the 20% off of your total purchase coupon, and Borders will usually only let you use one coupon. Hopefully it will work out for you.

Yep--probably not worth the drive to find out--I wish Borders would just have reasonable prices to begin with--no idea how they are still in business with most stuff being MSRP or higher. Who actually shops there without a coupon? (I seriously doubt they will still be around next year.) Why wouldn't someone just go to a Best Buy, Walmart, Target or Amazon where DVDs are usually at least 30% off MSRP as a regular price?!

Re: The Official Borders Coupon Thread volume 2 - Updated Weekly
I used to buy a significant number of DVDs and CDs (film scores; classical) at Borders, using their Rewards coupons. But Borders cut their in-store selection of DVDs and CDs about a month ago. Even their largest brick and mortar stores are a pale reflection of what they used to be. They had a 40% off DVD sets coupon last week - in-store only use - and I just couldn't find anything I really wanted in stock. Admittedly, I bought a lot of DVDs on the recent Deep Discount sale - but I thought surely I could find something. Most of their coupons are designed to get people into their stores - but what good is it if they don't have the selection?
And one another thing - as was noted, their internet website prices - for most DVDs and CDs - are consistently $1 higher than suggested retail prices. That's really odd to me, because even with a coupon the prices are still higher than many of their competitors.
No doubt they are on a slippery slope of some kind.

As many other posters have posted various times in this thread, Borders makes much of their money off Books.
Many big B&M stores have been cutting their DVD stock, Borders is no exception. Catalog titles are getting harder to find at B&M stores and smaller production companies are falling by the wayside at big name retailers. We all remember a time where Unearthed Films, Blue Underground, Mondo Macabre, Dark Sky and so on were packed on Best Buy's shelves. Now? Not so much.
Borders is no exception, B&M stores just don't have the space or the money right now to keep around titles that are collecting dust with no inherit history of sales in a calendar year.
Also why do the Borders Coupon Threads always turn into some Borders fall from grace thread or some story about how Borders sucks. I can post in the B&N thread about how my local B&N has 20-30 different horror titles total or how my local BB has even less, but I don't

To be fair, Borders' financial troubles have been on topic for a while now. They're in the middle of major restructuring and have had to cut inventory and capital spending due to the poor economy--it's bound to crop up even in the coupon thread since there's less selection for people to use them on.

FYI ... the 50% coupon worked for me. Also, was able to use at multiple stores. Apparently, unlike using coupon online which automatically limits you to one-time usage.
Great deal in that bought 3 bigger ticket cd box sets!

It worked for me, but they had no clue what it was and were going to check on it, so anyone at that store after me will likely be denied.

Re: The Official Borders Coupon Thread volume 2 - Updated Weekly
The girl who checked me out kind of made a confused face when she looked at it, then she entered it in, it went through, and she said "I've never seen a 50% coupon before" and finished ringing me up.

There was a 50% off Blu-ray a month ago, so I don't understand how an employee will look at this new 50% off coupon with suspicion.
