Borders Rewards $5 of $20 instore. May not be combined with other "total purchase" coupons (which suggests it could be stacked with a %-off-list coupon)

Exp. 10/4/09

Good idea, except the %-off-list coupons usually say something like "Coupon cannot be combined with any other offer" in the fine print. You could get lucky, though.

Haven't been able to get 30% coupons to work recently. Had been auto-renewing, w/date as late as 10/09. Anyone having similar problems? Or solutions??

Thanks!!

Pretty sad when a 30% off coupon still can't beat the standard everyday pricing at Amazon or DD. At least for the items on my wishlist.

It's pretty sad when the 50% off Blu coupon can't either...

Through October 31, you'll also receive $5 in Borders Bucks for every $50 that you spend(it's usually every $150).

After checking my BR wish list and weeding out the ones that are still cheaper at Amazon even after the coupon, not available in stores, or out of stock in stores near me I ended up with one title and a savings of $1.50. Not really worth going to a store for (especially since it is considered only likely in stock).

But not all is bad, the exercise did give me a change to price compare some of Amazon's offerings and a few I'm interested in did go down in price there. So maybe it was worth checking into since I will likely be making an Amazon order instead.

Any chance the 50% off BR Borders coupon could be combined with the $10 The Proposal manufacturer's coupon?

Thanks for that. I went in the morning with the 50% off BD coupon, but I had to go back when I found an OOP Anchor Bay Hammer Double-Feature.

You could always give it a try, since they SHOULD be paid from that coupon by the manufacturer regardless....however, the Borders coupon does specifically state on it that it cannot be used along with any other coupons, so good luck with that argument....

No issues--was able to combine with the $10 The Proposal BD coupon--for $12.49--I have no idea who they expect will pay the $44.99 retail price they have listed.

It CAN, you just have to be very selective and do some digging....I got The Omen and Grease today for a total of $24 using the coupon, which is about $5 less than if I had bought them from Amazon....

I couldn't find a BD to purchase, but I noticed that there are some Halloween/horror DVDs on sale. I used the 30% off coupon to get Sleepy Hollow for $5.50.

Re: The Official Borders Coupon Thread volume 2 - Updated Weekly

Sadly, my local Borders sold out of Drag Me To Hell.

Decided to wait on getting Dawn & Day Of The Dead.

Bought Chocolate for $13.68. Way happy I might go back tomorrow to see if there is anything else I want.

Advice needed...

I never shop at Borders because of obvious pricing reasons, but I find myself in possession of GCs that I need to burn up. In addition to the coupons that are posted from time to time, is there any consistent product type (on either DVD or Blu-ray) that I can look to for a relatively reasonable price? Box sets? TV? New releases? Gift sets? A specific studio or brand? Believe me, my potential purchase pool is gi-normous!

What do you think is the best deal?

Thanks for any help!

I've always been tempted to buy the Herzog-Kinski 6 disc set. I believe it sells at $66(probably lower in store) and if you use the 40% off coupon (that periodically pops up) you can get it for under $40.

I'd also try to get the Truffaut Antoine Doinel Collection for $60 (with a 40% off coupon ) of course.
