Would it be safe to order the "Sword in the Stone" collector's set as part of my enrollment? Reading some of these pages, I'm worried Disney might screw with my order. But as I see it, its listed as an enrollment movie fair and square!

I'd say go for it. If they catch it and pull it from your enrollment package you should just get a voucher to pick another title at the same price.

So I placed my order. Filled my five slots and this is what it gave me after I included all my billing information!

The Sword in the Stone 45th Anniversary DMC Premium Package - $69.95
Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: Collector's Edition - $24.95
Enchanted - Widescreen - $0.20
Toy Story 10th Anniversary Edition - $0.20
Toy Story 2 Special Edition - $0.20

Total $95.50

WHAT THE HECK?!?!

I guess I'll be calling customer service tomorrow to figure out why I didn't get those for the enrollment price. Grr! Or maybe will that correct itself when the payment processes?!

Why wouldn't they give the total before asking for your billing information?

Yeah, looks like their system is really screwed up. I'd give them a call to find out what happened. They'll probably tell you it was a mistake and you can't have them and will have to pick something else, but I don't think they can reasonably expect you to just pay for them without telling you the price in advance.

Interesting to note that since it only charged you 20 cents each for the other titles, it probably was going to be the 5 for a dollar deal, even though it says 5 for $1.99 each.

Also, you really should've purchased the 6th title for 14.95. It counts towards your fulfillment, reducing your commitment to buy to 3 (instead of 4), and you won't get a fulfillment title that cheap (not to mention with free shipping. Always buy the 6th title. 7th title is a scam to increase your average cost per DVD though.

Didn't realize the 6th counts as a fulfillment! (they should note that somewhere.) But yes, they will be getting a call from me first thing in the morning. I don't mind picking other titles, I had a very long list sorted by preference, but some warning would have been nice. Maybe I can get them to cancel the whole order and let me do-over with a 6th title.

And the 20-cent thing makes sense now after reconsidering the agreement I "signed." It said that since I included a credit card, I would be paying a $1.00 but at the time I didn't know if that meant a dollar per movie or something else.

This is regards to the 7th DVD being a ripoff. When I signed up (I dont remember what code I used to sign up, I threw the papers out), I bought the 6th and 7th DVD because it said they would both count for fufillment and they did. I only owe 2 now and received the first 7 for ~26. If I had known that this wasnt normal I would have posted the number, but I thought that was standard. Anybody else heard of the 7th DVD counting toward commitment (and then only owing 2 commitments after your initial offer)?

Yes, the web site seems messed up. It allowed me to put 7 Disney Treasure titles in the enrollment cart, but on the final page before submitting the order, it showed my total as $30 per title (approximately $210.00). I bailed out of the deal.

Neither of those numbers ("7" or "2") makes sense for the DISNEY movie club. It does make sense for the Columbia House DVD club. Are you posting in the right thread? Nobody's ever posted about a deal like that for the DMC.

The current best Disney offer is: enroll with 5+1, ignore the 7th, and then fulfill with 4.

Actually, right now, total fulfillment is only 4. So if you buy the 6th title, you only have 3 left to buy. I just fulfilled my account like that.

Here is an excerpt from my online commitment page:

"As a Disney Movie Club member, all you need to do is buy 4 movies at regular Club prices in the next 24 months (starting at $19.95 per DVD), plus shipping and processing of $3.95 for the first title in each order, and $1.00 for each additional title in that same order. You may cancel your membership at any time after purchasing the 4 movies.

By agreeing to purchase at least 4 regular-priced movies in the next 24 months, you qualify to receive 5 Disney DVDs of your choice from the list of titles currently available from the Disney Movie Club for $0.99 each. Shipping and processing is free. Save even more when you sign up with a credit card, and pay just $1.00 total. Please allow 2-4 weeks to receive your first shipment.

YOU MAY ALSO TAKE A 6TH DVD NOW AT THE SPECIAL PRICE OF JUST $14.95. PLUS YOU PAY NO ADDITIONAL SHIPPING AND PROCESSING CHARGE. This Bonus Movie will even count towards your purchase commitment, so you'll only need to purchase 3 more movies in the next 24 months instead of 4.

PLUS YOU CAN SAVE EVEN MORE by selecting a 7TH DVD NOW FOR the special price of JUST $9.95 AND STILL PAY NO ADDITIONAL SHIPPING AND PROCESSING CHARGE. This Bonus Movie will also count towards your purchase commitment, so you'll only need to purchase 2 more movies in the next 24 months instead of 4."

Notice at the bottom it says I only need to buy 2 more.

^^Obi-wan, my mistake. Thanks for correcting. You're right: it was 4 without the 6th, but 3 with it.

^turkishtornado, that is an awesome deal! Sorry for doubting you! I wish you could remember the code. Do you know the source of the offer (credit card mailing, etc.)? I don't think anybody's posted one that good here before.

I actually think I may have got it from the retailmenot.com Disney Movie Club page. I am not 100% sure. I had received a code in the mail, but I was looking around the internet one night to see if there were better deals out there and I stumbled upon that one. It could have been from another site as well, it was pretty late at night and I was trying to decide where the best deal would be from to get movies for the long thanksgiving trip. I hope someone else finds it so that everyone can use it. If I had known that this was an unusually good code then I would have posted it (I am a long time reader but recent poster). Sorry

^ You're my new best friend (don't you feel honored?).

Before your post, I searched a bunch of places, tried all kinds of codes, but couldn't find it. After your post, I went to retailmenot, checked out a few of the codes and found this one:

978283

5 for $1, 6th for $14.95, 7th for $9.95, 2 to buy
a real 7:2 code!
If you get FS to fulfill, and get $19.95 titles, it works out to:
$1.00+$14.95+$9.95+2x$19.95=$65.80/9 = $7.31 each (!)

That's a hell of a deal for Disney. I wish they had enough left I wanted to justify a new account.

Tell me about it. My supply and demand curve just shifted by $2. $10 was the old price point for a Disney movie I wanted (ordered a bunch for about $10 each from a recent DD sale, for example), but now it's $8.

I just submitted an app with that code. We'll see how it goes...

Fingers crossed first for the acceptance, and then that the new DMC website offers good deals with free shipping combinations like the old one did.

One other thing that you may want to note. When they shipped my order, the web page still showed that I had to buy 4 movies to fulfill my commitment; however, I sent them a message asking what was going on and it was corrected by the next business day (so you may need to send them a message asking them to honor the 6th and 7th movies as ones that count toward commitment). It wasnt really a hassle because all I did was cut and pasted that section from the commitment page and asked why this was not reflected in my account and they took care of it without ever contacting me.

Souzou, did you end up calling them about the SITS Premium Package? I'm looking at a similar enrollment strangeness with The Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe 4-disc set with bookends. Doesn't seem like it should be available as an enrollment title.

I did end up calling today and got everything worked out! I had anticipated a big run-around from customer service but the guy I spoke to was SOO helpful.

I had him pull up my account number and started explaining my situation about how I'd signed up and hadn't seen the charge until the end, and so forth. So he's looking up my order and suddenly I hear him go "woah...that's not right." Haha. And he was great, went right ahead and fixed it for me. He made the "Sword in the Stone" box-set my 6th order for $14.95 and the "Nightmare Before Xmas" set became my 7th order for $9.95. Then I added "Peter Pan" and "Spirited Away" to round off my five movies for $1. In the end, I paid about $26 for $200 worth of movies. I didn't have to beg or anything, he just went right ahead and changed it for me. Only got the fulfillment for the 6th movie, not the 7th, but it was a really good deal so I went ahead with it since I really wanted the NB4Xmas.

Now I'm just wondering how often I'll be receiving coupons, especially the ones for free shipping.

WALL-E is the featured selection for December. I'd get it AND the double feature of the Pixar short if WALL-E was the special edition but it's only the 1 disc

If they would only finish the Zorro series I'd have a reason to cycle an account! After waiting *2 years(!?!)* for season 2 to start to arrive I'm not so sure I want to trust 'em to get it out in time to fulfill...

Some people on the forum on UltimateDisney.com say to expect all of Season 2 there by February(?)

Apparently, they followed this sequence with Season 1 on the DMC site: list the first 2 in Oct, the next 3 at Christmas, and then the season set in February.

I'd like to get Zorro myself, but it's way too costly for me. I prefer to keep my season sets under $20, with the optimal price at around $15 for half-hour shows.

5 Discs at $7.31 each is too much.

I just got approved for my 7:2 account. Thanks yet again for turkishtornado for the heads-up on the terms. I looked in my Terms of Membership, and it says I have 4 fulfillments to order. And under the terms' details, it says 2. (I also saved the webpage from when I signed up, which also says 2.) So I used the "Contact Us" form and sent them the info. Hopefully, they will be as friendly to me as they were to tt and Souzou.

Congrats to Souzou for getting that package as an enrollment!

It really seems like the DMC is much more willing to resolve problems in favor of the customer, as opposed to CH's behavior.

I went to use 978283 and it's showing blue-ray titles available as enrollment titles. Is that a glitch or am I going to get a letter from Disney in a few days saying they're not available? It's also showing sets (ie. 4-Disc Narnia) as enrollment titles.

I've love to open another account but I don't want to deal with returns and CS if I don't have to. Any ideas?

Look at your $ total.

It lets you choose anything, but then charges full price if it isn't on the default selection screens.
