So since I'm new to this whole thing, what's the deal with Wall-E?
The movies in the Club seem to run list price, which if combined with the right deals and coupons, makes it cheaper than the few dollars off that Amazon and others offer.
But I'm wanting to get the 3-disc Wall-E which has like a $40 list price but is on sale at Walmart for $22 (nearly half off). Would I just be better off buying it at Walmart or Amazon or does the club sometimes give even better deals in a few months on its nice collector editions?
I don't mind waiting but I don't want to hope for a better deal that may not come.

I just got accepted with the 7:2 deal. I would like to purchase Disney Treasures DVD's through the club (list price $30), but I don't know the most economical way of doing this. Am I better off purchasing one as one of my 2 fulfillment titles, and then buying more at the same time with a % off code (current code doesn't allow them to count a discounted one as a fulfillment, even though it would be over $20). Or will it be cheaper to fulfill with $20 titles and buy the treasures with deals I will receive after completing my committment. Any help would be appreciated.

Some people on the forum on UltimateDisney.com say to expect all of Season 2 there by February(?)
Apparently, they followed this sequence with Season 1 on the DMC site: list the first 2 in Oct, the next 3 at Christmas, and then the season set in February.
I'd like to get Zorro myself, but it's way too costly for me. I prefer to keep my season sets under $20, with the optimal price at around $15 for half-hour shows.
5 Discs at $7.31 each is too much...

Basically, I can afford to wait. Actually with all the great sales all over lately I pretty much *have* to wait.
I feel the same way about season sets. I generally like to keep it at or below $.50-$.75/episode for half hour shows and $1-$1.25/episode for hour length shows. But I'm willing to make somewhat an exception with Zorro as I don't expect it to *ever* fall to that pricing level unless it's several years down the road for a used copy.

^ I should have put more question marks for the dates. Since Zorro's not on my radar, I wasn't trying to remember them when I read the thread. Check out the forums at UltimateDisney.com for people talking about Zorro. A few fans over there. Re: Zorro prices, I hear you. I recently gave up and went and got the Prisoner 40th Anniversary Megaset for about $30. More than I like to pay, but I've waited long enough to try to find it at my optimal price, and I wanted to watch it after I watch the Secret Agent set. There's a certain value for that which should be included, after all...
^^ Bobaray, please read further back in this thread. It was posted by others before me, but I confirmed as recently as post #703 that anything with a final price over $19.95 does count as a fulfillment, even if a code resulted in a discount code to make it that price. I used some season sets discounted to as low as $19.98 to count as fulfillments. Of course, they could have changed things, but then again rules *always* said they wouldn't count, but then they did.
The value of a fulfillment credit when using a 7:2 code to enroll is:
(7x$7.31-$25.90)/2=$12.64.
(i.e., If you paid $12.64x2 in cash, without getting any more DVDs, just to fulfill, you'd break even at $7.31/DVD for the account.)
So, when considering buying a box set, try to get it discounted to as close to $19.95 as possible (but above it), and then mentally subtract $12.64 to think about the "value" you are getting.
For example, if you use a B1G50%+FS code, and order a $34.95 non-discountable 2-pack Director's Selection and Lost Season 1, you will pay $34.95 and $19.98, and they will both count as fulfillments.
If you think about your enrollments costing you $7.31 each, then...
The $34.95 DS 2-pack is really costing you $22.31 (and getting you free shipping, so order enough to make it worthwhile).
Lost is really costing you $7.34.
(You can also think of it like getting 2 DVDs at $7.31 each and Lost at $22.31+$7.34-2x$7.31=$15.03. That's how I look at it. Keep everything in mind as a package, and value all DVDs at $7.31, since that is the minimum value of them when cycling accounts.)
Think about it this way:
Your total expenditure for the account is:
$1.00+$14.95+$9.95+$34.95+$19.98
=$80.83
OR
Think about it this way:
Your initial DVDs were $7.31 each, for 7 of them; you got 2 more and a season set for $15.03.
$7.31*9+$15.03+$0.01(rounding error)
=$80.83
Remember, there might be different offers available to you on the "Other Offers" page of the new site.
Therefore, think of a Treasures base price as being $29.95-$12.64=$17.31.
If you can use a 25%-off code, it will be $29.95*.75=$22.46-$12.64=$9.82
If you can use a 30%-off code, it will be $20.97-$12.64=$8.33.
I've never seen one, but optimally, if they have a 1/3-off code, you'd get the price down to $19.97, so it would be like spending $7.33.
Any discount above that would put the price below $19.95, resulting in a lost value of $12.64.
A 35%-off code would be $19.47, for example--a much worse deal than $7.33.
I didn't factor shipping in, so you'll have to do that. I always use free shipping methods--either by code, or by buying an item that gives free shipping for the order, like a Director's Selection (or whatever it's called) 2-pack.
In order for this to work most beneficially for you, the key is to order something non-discountable as your B1, and then higher-priced items can be discounted. I am not entirely sure this works on the new DMC site.
Be patient, and wait for the right combination of codes and/or Director's Selections.
^^^Souzou, use the same math above for the 3-disc Wall-E. Chances are, the club will carry it, but it will be $29.95, or something like that. No guarantees, of course.
^^^^inksketcher, I think there's no benefit. I think it's just a screw-up since the site redesign. Complain to them. If they get enough complaints, they'll fix it. There are lots of problems with the new site. If you're lucky, they'll do for you what they did for Souzou, and let you have a pricey item for an enrollment selection.

I'm sure if they start geting enough calls like this, someone will fix the website though.

Cheato, thanks for the help!
From what I have read here, the best offers show up after fulfilling my account. I'm not really interested in cycling accounts, because I only want to buy the Disney Treasures at this point. It looks like I should fulfill with cheaper titles and then use better offers to get all the Treasures I want to buy at the same time. Is this correct?

My strategy is to fulfill with something I want that gives me free shipping when I can also use a code that makes other things discount to good prices.
Sometimes, there is a free shipping code (like, if you buy 3 or more DVDs), and sometimes those are also at the same time as something like a 25%-off-additional.
But, as you say, sometimes better codes come along after you fulfill. The DMC has been a little stingy with their codes for VIPs. My last VIP welcome email was a great B1G20% code. Others at the UltimateDisney forums have been saying the same thing; some people get good codes, some get lousy ones.
If you don't care about cycling, then wait for a B1G60%+FS and go crazy. Just remember that the most expensive thing is your B1, unless you're buying a non-discountable item which will take its place.

Cheato, Did you get the two credits?
Also, has anyone gotten any offers other than B1 then 25% on the new site (before fulfilling commitment)?
Secondly, my first order shipped on the 12th and it is now the 21st. Is it normal to take this long? What would you guys consider a usual shipment time (I live in Massachusetts)? I really hope they get here before Thanksgiving.
Thanks for the help.

My last account which I fulfilled and then cancelled within the last few weeks (and just re-enrolled with the 7:2 code), had a buy 2 get free shipping deal, which I used to fulfill.

RE: Secret Agent/Prisoner... I broke down and purchased both of those during the last DD A&E B1G1. While, like you, they are a bit outside what I like to pay they are also A&E/BBC titles which *always* seem to have a very stiff (i.e. exorbitant) price tag... Kind of like some Disney product... ~$3-$4 per 30 minute episode and ~$4-~$6 for 60 minute episodes! I really expect to get a jar of vaseline (BOHICA) when I break down and make one of those purchases, even with a discount!

They *finally* responded.
In the email, they restated what the deal was: buy 4. Then they said that their records showed I had already bought 2, and they invited me to proceed to the website to order more Disney goodness.
So I went to the site, checked my account, and now it says I have to buy 2 to fulfill my agreement.
I don't know if it changed on its own in the last week or so, or if they did it before they emailed me, but the deal worked out!
EDIT: OK, I thought about this some more. I realized that the charge on my credit card *just* went through on Friday. So, I guess that before that happened, the first two "purchases" may not have happened. However, I actually received my enrollments early last week. So, there might not have been a problem. I guess I'm used to CH, where as soon as your account is set up, they've already shipped your stuff, and charged you, so the fulfillment numbers are always up-to-date.

In my experience, calling them works best.
Placed a very large 60% off order in July.
Waited a few weeks, then emailed.
No response.
Waited a couple of more weeks. Emailed again.
Got an email saying that the holdup was due to obtaining stock of some more popular titles.
After a couple of months, finally called. CSR said the holdup was due to the order being "such a large order" but that would look into it.
Three days later, the entire (huge) package arrived.
I have the feeling that the order got lost in the system somewhere along the line. Also, Disney's policy of wanting to put everything in one shipment (even though you pay BY THE ITEM, unlike most commercial retailer) should have allowed for sending out the in-stock items right away. At any rate, the phone call did the trick.
Just sayin'.......

I have a situation...
I placed a very large order in October with 60% off. This was on their old system. I was never charged and the order "mysteriously" disappeared with no email confirmation. Now, today - 2 months later - I receive an order confirmation for 3 of the items (3 out of LOTS). I go on the (new) site and see that the order I placed in October is on hold. It appears that they just took these 3 items out of the old order and created a new order with them on it. I am so confused but would like to know if anyone else has had their very large order taken off hold like a previous poster? If so, I need to get that money in my bank account ASAP! LOL! Thanks!

I'm thinking of cancelling/re-applying. Anyone know if Toy Story/II is going in the vault? They told me that around June (when I was fighting with them), but the website shows Peter Pan / Little Mermaid going in the vault and not Toy Story. BTW, those titles go in Jan 31, right?
Anyway good luck and DON"T GIVE UP ... they should have the original order on file (just pretend you have a copy).

^Thanks! I just cancelled my account a week or so ago in anticipation of doing a new one to get some of the titles going into the vault. The rest of the Zorro titles showing up make it a no-brainer!

This may be a YMMV deal. However, here's an update on how I see codes working on the new site.
When I log in, I have a banner to get 50% off additional, after a $19.95+ title. I have no other offers available under my "Other Offers" link.
I added the current Director's Selection package, the Little Mermaid Trilogy, at $39.95 to get free shipping. Then I could add Lost Season 4 to the cart, which is also $39.95, and it went to half price.
However, if I add the deluxe Sword in the Stone gift-set, it goes in at full price. In other words, it becomes the new highest price item that you have to pay for, and the LM Trilogy is non-discountable (beyond its current sale price), so it remains at $39.95. If I put in the Nightmare Before Christmas gift-set, the SITS gift-set goes to half-price, and the NBC gift-set goes to full price. Another NBC gift-set will go in at half-price.
Conclusion: it seems that the DMC has "fixed" or changed the way the non-discountable items triggered discounts for higher-priced items. It looks like the party we had is over. For example, you can't get Zorro Season 1 at half-price, unless you buy something else at $59.95 or higher.
I didn't play around with Blu-rays, but they don't even show a discount on the main listings. If anybody wants to experiment with those, feel free...
One last thing: The old link to the sale listings is gone. (see the EDIT mention at the end of this post for more info)
For me, the change in how the discounts work doesn't affect anything. I had planned on geting the LM Trilogy (learned from UltimateDisney.com it would be available as a Director's Selection this month) and Lost as my fulfillments on this 7:2 (thanks again, turkishtornado!) account. So, I'll wind up with 10 DVDs and Lost S4 for $85.83. If the DVDs have a base value of $7.31 from a 7:2 account, that means Lost S4 will cost me $12.73. Sounds perfect to me. I love it when a plan comes together.
I would have liked to have worked the new Sleeping Beauty Blu-ray/DVD combo into the deal, but the DMC wound up not carrying it!
EDIT: I'm gonna have to take that back about *all* the sale prices being gone. Out of the 10 on my buy-list, 3 are still on sale at those even $ prices. And the prices all dropped from $13/$15 to $10/$11. A few others went back to their previous $21.95 or $19.95 prices (but of course have a lower final price after a 50% discount), and 2 of them went up to only $14.95, which after 50%-off becomes $7.48, which is close enough to $7.31 for me to get them this way instead of as enrollments in a cycled account. So I guess I'll be ordering the Muppets' Muppet Movie and Great Muppet Caper 50th Anniversary Editions.

OK, I swear the "Club Deals" link was not there yesterday, but it's there now. Either I couldn't see the forest for the trees, or they added it to the site today.
So now some of those sale-priced items can be more easily found. I was looking for them in a much more complicated fashion yesterday, by viewing "all" in a category, and having my web browser find ".00." That method is not as elegant.
When viewing that category at this time, the site shows only Christmas-themed movies as being "on sale," but there actually are many other titles that are "on sale," too.
