I've tried doing it in the past, 4 or 5 years ago and it never worked for me either.

Re: CH Enrollment Codes Part II

my last several apps with 27b have been "ignored"

question: will cancelling an account put me in a better position to getting a new 7:2 account open finally?

Re: CH Enrollment Codes Part II

I enrolled on 10/5 using 27B and got the credit card post on 10/6. Today I received the "Welcome to the club" e-mail. I think that's the fastest turn around for a membership I've ever had.

If it is fulfilled I would close it. I applied and currently have 2 accounts, the only difference is I applied with my wife's name. I've heard in the past that 2 accounts was the max you can have, not sure if it is still true.

^Yes. 2 accounts per type. That is: 2 DVD accounts *and* 2 TVonDVD accounts simutaneously.

If you only have 1 open account closing it is no guarantee you'll get another open.

If you're interested in TV seasons you might look at the TVonDVD club. Code HDL gets you 2 sets for $9.98 w/free shipping and you fulfill with 2 DVDs at $19.95 or more. The fulfillments do *not* have to be TV titles. They can be movies, BR, etc. just as long as the minimum price point is met.

Has anyone gotten the HDL to work since CH changed their default offer to 3-for-$1? The banner on that code changed as well.

Re: CH Enrollment Codes Part II

The TVonDVD site offer banner with HDL still looks the same to me... My last TVonDVD enrollment was ~4 months ago and I really don't know if that was after the DVD site changed the main offer. I've pretty much given up on the main DVD site as long as I can get TV sets for just under $15/each using a B1G1/Free Ship fulfillment. Of course, I've just about run out of sets from the very limited offering I'm interested in picking up. They need to cycle a few again...

The "default" TVonDVD offer is still the same as it's been for a loooooong time:

"Get 1 set free when you buy one set for $19.95, with free shipping on this order! All you need to do is buy 2 DVDs in the next year at $19.95 or more, plus shipping and processing, and you may cancel at anytime after doing so."

HDL changes it to "Get 1 set free when you buy one set for $9.95" with the rest of the offer the same.

Re: CH Enrollment Codes Part II

I successfully used HDL recently, but I think it was a few days BEFORE the banner change. Toggling through the offer, everything looks the same to me too.

Re: CH Enrollment Codes Part II

Wasn't there an enrollment offer a while ago where you could use the account number of an existing account and they would close the account for you and enroll you in a new account? Is that still possible? If so, are there any drawbacks in doing that?

Thanks.

^If you enroll with any code that requires a PSN and you use an open account as the PSN, Columbia House seems to close the existing account while opening a new one. I've had this happen, as have others.

Re: CH Enrollment Codes Part II

So, what's a good PSN code to use? 27B isn't prompting me for one and the code list on page 1 of this topic is 2 years old!

If anyone has been able to successfully accomplish the above using an active code that requires a PSN, please share that code with the class. I was able to do what Lizard described above for months last year using code 76C, but CH nixed that code in January. Lately, I use 2KC (a 9:2 code), but haven't attempted to re-enroll using a PSN with an open account yet. I'll have to try that soon.

in the past, all i did was apply for a new account using 27B. after approved, ch automatically and conveniently closed my newest account for me.

lately, my apps keep getting ignored

i requested one of my accounts to be closed, hoping that id get a "please come back" email and up the chances of getting an app approved. unfortunately, i just received a reply stating that my account was closed as requested and a polite buh-bye!

maybe ch is going through "a phrase". hopefully, that is

A "PSN" (not "PSN code") is an old account number of your own.

What you seem to be asking for is a good enrollment code.

^Peep is asking for an enrollment code that requires a PSN. The last one I used was 76C. This code is still active on-line, but no longer works on the phone, as it once did.

Thanks. That's exactly what I was looking for. I'll post whether or not it worked once I've tried it.

Re: CH Enrollment Codes Part II

I don't understand why you would want to have a code requiring a PSN as opposed to a code without.

Did you read my original question? I want them to close an open account as part of the enrollment process.

Are there any drawbacks that I don't know about concerning PSN-related codes?

Re: CH Enrollment Codes Part II

^Just as easy to close it yourself.
I've closed dozens of accounts with a simple email.
Over the last several months, they reply with an email confirming the closing a day or so after I send the email.
The last couple accounts I closed, they replied back in less than 24 hours.

^While it is true that it is easy to close an account, by going the PSN code route one can leave the account open unless/until a new one is approved. Nice to have an open account, even if fulfilled, as you know.

just for the sake of closure

i received a "come back to us!" email with the "great offer" of 8 dvds for $.49 each plus s&h with 4 commitments. not the email i was hoping for

^Interesting. I usually get good 7:2 code e-mails (but haven't checked them lately).
