Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI
The sale with free shipping was better than using my points so I suppose I will let those go. I did buy multiples of a couple titles for gifts and was surprised when I received them the order was cheaper than I originally paid. The titles I bought 2 were marked down to $5 each instead of the $9.99 my original order showed.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI
Not surprised. I knew something was up when I was able to get Avatar: Extended Edition bluray for $12.98 (shipping included). I then used my points to get Hercules 3D and Wizard of Oz 3D for $10.98 but my points never were deducted. I used them again for another order and if they honor it I will get Interstellar and TMNT 3D for $10.98 total. I was around when BMG music went under and they had a major fire sale so hopefully Columbia House has a major fire sale too.

The titles I got 2 for $10 during that sale were Guardians of the Galaxy 3D and Amazing Spiderman 2 3D.. Makes me wonder if I shouldn't have ordered duplicates of every title I ordered as I may have received a better deal..

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI
Not surprising news at all. I suspected this might be coming when I noticed a significant drop in inventory a few weeks back.
My last order apparently *still* hasn't shipped and I now hope I receive it but if not, well... I guess it's OK as I'd already pretty much wiped out my points and placed the order to burn off the last few just in case.
Yeah... some type of "Fire Sale" would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath.

It does say they plan to sell the DVD club, so it's not dead yet. Of course, there may be no buyer, or if there is, they could change the club.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI
They've still not shipped my last order from a few weeks back, and the item I ordered is no longer on the site. I've not bothered contacting them but think I'm pretty much out of luck.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI
^No. The temp charge finally fell off so I contacted them. All I got was a song-n-dance story about "we try to have sufficient stock" blah...blah...blah... They offered to let me select another title at the same price and they'd apply the bonus points. I told them "Thanks, but no thanks - just put them back in case I want to place another order in the future." We'll see if they comply. At this point I consider myself fully done with them and don't plan to try another order unless they do some type of going-out-of-business blow out. They have less and less each day that I'm interested in purchasing.
**EDIT**
The level of incompetence at CH is simply stunning. They replied that they're "having trouble applying bonus points to accounts" and if I want to use those last few I'd burned off on that order that I'd have to contact them with what I want and let *them* enter the order and apply the points! Considering their poor track record getting orders right that's not going to happen. Looks like I'm officially done with CH.

Not sure how well this works with the now limited selection or the fact it has to offset shipping, but here is a coupon code for $10 off an order.

Yep, the selection is pretty bad.
I still managed to place 5 orders for $2.99 (shipping cost with the titles being less than $10).

I ordered a couple of cheap DVD sets for $2.99 each: Classic Christmas Favorites and Rizzoli & Isles: The Complete First Season.

Looks like it *may* be limited to 4 orders per account. I just placed 4 orders and when I went for the 5th I got a "Coupon code "10OFF" is not valid." error/message. It still works on my other account (no orders placed on it yet).

Just tested it on a 2nd account and it worked for me. Not sure if there's a limit per account or not. As I mentioned before, I used it 5 times on one account with no issues.

Still... I'm about tapped out as I was ordering just because the titles were cheap enough for blind buys. I've not yet ordered on my second account and really don't know if I will or not.
They have a few of the Perry Mason movie sets I'm eying but really don't know how badly I "need" them for my collection as I recall not truly caring for them much when they originally aired.

I could not find a single thing that I wanted that using the 10OFF would have been any more advantageous as buying from another retailer. My whole wishlist is no longer available.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI
^My wishlist disappeared 4-6 weeks ago (during the last sale).
The stuff I ordered was simply because it was cheap and sounded moderately interesting. I believe I looked at the entire list of available titles, sorted by price, and stopped when the $10 off would put something at the same or higher price than Amazon - typically around $14. I struggled to find 4 items to order and one was the Christmas Classics set Bigjim25 mentioned. I already have a copy, as do both my kids' families, but $3 was too good to pass up for a backup copy or possible gifting. It's worth that much just for the 50th Birthday Deluxe Edition of How the Grinch Stole Christmas it includes.

Might be that since they have less stock it takes less time to find the product. Or maybe with less people purchasing there is less activity so they can get right to it.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI
I just received a "We're unable to fulfill your order due to insufficient stock" cancellation email for my July 23rd order! Almost *two* full months! I'll consider myself *very* lucky if any of the last batch actually ships.
