No other purchase necessary for the 45% off + FS. Don't you have to buy one at regular price for the $7.95 deal?

Yes you do have to buy one at full price first if you're not using the code. But, unfortunately I wanted to buy @20 DVD's and it would be more expensive for me with the code for FS and the 45% discount.

I tried to log on during the recent free shipping sale and most of the titles on the site wouldn't show up. It said they were having a technical problem.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI
their web site has been pretty awful lately. really slow or just down in general. if i try and log on from work it's ridiculous. the best times are at like 7am or something.

they're also having a 19.95 deal on most blu-ray pre-orders...picked up SCOTT PILGRIM for 19.95 shipped.

Why the hell does The Goonies and Elf have a $50 retail price? Is that right? WTF?!? So those titles are $30 to pre-order, and aren't included in the 19.95 sale...
EDIT: To answer my own question, Goonies includes: new board game, original movie storyboard reproductions, 1985 souvenir magazine reprint, and reprint of 2009 Empire Magazine article with cast photos and updates.
Elf comes in a tin and includes a stocking and other stuff...
I think I'm fine with the versions I have. I don't need to upgrade. Goonies is tempting, but Elf is not...

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI
This code does work, it has to be a DVD chosen from the list of 1,300 titles. The reason why I know it works is I wrote down titles I was interested in the last time I went paperless. And I just used rider's code now on one from my list.

And how does one see this list?

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI
I think in order to see the list of titles available, one must have received the emailing that thanked you for going to a paperless membership.
Again,I did use this code on accounts that did NOT go paperless,as well as one account that already has been paperless ever since I enrolled a few months a go.
Just add a title to your cart and than enter the code.If it works, than it will show up as free.
It looks like titles higher than $19.95 will not work(obviously, sets are not available for free..)but not all $19.95 titles will work(ie;IRON MAN and BOONDOCK SAINTS ok..ZOMBIE LAND not ok).
The ones I picked for freebies are;
FRIDAY THE 13TH
FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 2
FRIDAY THE 1TH PART 3
MONSTER SQUAD

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI
The free shipping code (20101022FSWT1D) also applied to my free Bonus Points blu-ray, but would not let me check out until I added something else to my cart to make it > $0. Otherwise it gave an error trying to process the credit card.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI
^^ had the same f'n problem. sent a notice to customer service but haven't heard back. what's the point of bonus points if you can't use them??

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI
^It's normal for free shipping to *not* be available on orders using bonus points. From the "Bonus Points" FAQ:
"Bonus Points redemption cannot be combined with any promotional offer."
That they could with this promotion is a glitch and your notification to them will most likely kill it. You'll probably get a polite "We're sorry, but free shipping is not available with Bonus Point orders" type reply.
"Bonus Points" were once called "Fun Cash" and both methods are pretty worthless. The point of them is to entice people to spend lots of money on "regular" price DVDs. Even without the great codes of old it's still more cost effective to cycle accounts.
