Disney Blu-ray Club!

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!
The only animated Disney BD I know I don't have off the top of my head (because it was always overpriced) is Mater's Tall Tales, but that's so short it doesn't feel like it's worth $13.95. I guess I'll log into DMC, type Blu-Ray, sort by price, and hope I can find something. Of course I don't know if their web site supports useful searching like that or not.

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!
I spent some time looking at the Disney Movie Club BD enrollment options as well as BDs as a member on the DMC web site using the A-Z option and selecting BD only. I came up with less than 16 BDs I might want, and several of them would be unnecessary DVD to BD upgrades. If I got the various "buddies" movies which I've never seen, that accounts for 5 of the 16. However, I noticed someone mentioned Tombstone and Armageddon, and sure enough when I searched on those titles specifically those BDs popped up. That makes me think there are more BD titles than I can see while just browsing.
So, how do I find a complete list of BD enrollment selections (and ones that are available through the club but not as an enrollment)? Does such a list exist or not given that browsing only shows a subset?
And does anyone know when the current get 5 offer expires?

You have to look under "Grown Up Hits" to find the non traditional Disney titles.

I would not recommend the Buddies movies if you don't have kids. I'm all for family movies that anyone can watch (which obviously includes a lot of Disney movies), but those really are made for kids.

I did come up with an alternative method though. Just search for "Blu-ray", as all the Blu-ray movies have Blu-ray in the item title. Should give you an alphabetized list of everything.

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!
Thanks for the help. Using those tips I was able to find more BDs I'd like, though I'm not positive if what I saw is truly everything. At least I have enough to be worth signing up for a new membership... assuming I can.
Someone posted that you can sign up for the Disney Blu-Ray club if you have a DVD Club membership (in spite of the wording on DMC of limit 1 club account per household), but if you switch your DVD club preference to BD that switches you into the BD club so you have to cancel your membership and wait a while before enrolling again. Since I had just changed my format preference to BD, I was worried doing that was a mistake.
So I called up to order my $10 BD selection for switching (I picked the WOW BD and the rep said it was free shipping though others said it cost $3.95). While on the phone I asked about this, and the rep said they are 2 separate clubs and switching my preference to BD does NOT switch me into the BD club, so I could still apply for a membership to the BD club in spite of the 1 per household text on their web site.
I hope that's right, but it's different than what others have posted. If it's right, when you enroll at www.disneymovieclub.com and pick your titles, how does Disney know to put you in the BD club instead of the DVD club again? Do you select an option during checkout, do they figure it out based on whether you order BDs or DVDs, or some other factor? Surely they will see I'm already a DVD Club member, and I guess that's OK.
Once I understand these details, then I can enroll... as long as this current offer doesn't expire first.

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!
Maybe they can give you free shipping when you call it in. When I was in the DVD club, I always ordered the $10 Blu from the website, and was charged shipping. Or maybe they just changed it outright (I haven't been in the DVD club for a while).
As for the difference between the BD and DVD clubs, I don't know for certain, I just assumed your account was a BD membership when you switched your preferences to blu-ray (since it is the exact same website for both clubs). As for how to make sure you're in the blu-ray club, use an offer code that ends in B. That's a Blu-ray offer code. Also, if you look at the wording of the commitment text, you can be sure which club you're signing up for. The DVD club requires fulfillments to be 19.95 or more. The BD club requires 29.95 or more.

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!
I am new to the club and I have not bought any of the required DVD'S yet. Each month the special offer gets better and better. I now have BOGO 40% off and free shipping. Should I fulfill a DVD now or will the offers get even better? Thanks!

I think it's probably the best offer I've seen.

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!
Thinking of churning again for a ...... 5th time? Wondering what titles people have had luck getting as enrollment titles by phone? Titles that weren't available on the enrollment website. I know they recently added Thor and Captain America, would LOVE to get those if possible. Anyone tried?

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!
Yeah, buying with 40% off will not count as a fulfillment and will increase your average cost per title.
Best you can hope for with DMC is free shipping. Might want to call them and see if they can give you the free shipping when you order two (which is part of the current offer) but charge you full price for both titles.

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!
*NEWSFLASH*
DMC has now cracked down on the phone method as well! :-/ Just got off the phone with a cast member. At first, she wouldn't even let me give her just the titles of my selections, asking instead for the specific number because "only specific titles are eligable for enrollment". When I told her I didn't have the numbers, she let me go ahead with the titles, but then proceeded to deny every single one.
So the jig is up. It was awesome while it lasted, but it looks like we're now relegated to strictly what's listed on the enrollment website.

I don't know if anyone is interested, but I found out you can browse their virtual catalog without being a member.

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!
Does anyone know approximately how long it takes for a BD to land on the club list? A bunch of Ghibli titles come on on May 22 (Arrietty, Castle in the Sky, Whisper of the Heart) and I just quit the club so I can rejoin and get the deal again.

If you're not looking to get them as enrollment titles, all three can be ordered now, but they probably won't ship until May 22.

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!
See my post above. I believe all the cast members have now been given a specific list of titles to allow for enrollment, and that's only the titles on the website. I'm pretty sure about this because I made a second attempt, and got the same results (cast member wouldn't accept any titles I mentioned that weren't on the website). If anyone DOES have luck with this though, please share!

I just cancelled my membership. I received a "feature" title that I didn't want. So I guess the real question is.. Are the mailings sometimes MAIL only and not listed on the website? I have decline confirmations for all the online ones, but have never sent back a mailing.

No more clubs to me... unless some spectacular deal comes along.
