It still ships for free. The current offer for the month is that you receive free shipping if you order one title at full price.

Hmmm I have the 3D one pre-ordered on amazon for like $24. I wounder if it would be worth the $7 loss just to get a commitment out of the way so I only have one left...

Thoughts?

Also thanks for those that helped I ended up getting these BD's

1. The Incredibles
2. Ratatouille
3. Toy Story
4. Toy Story 2
5. The Muppets
6. Up
7. Cars

Do you need the 3D disc, or did you order it just because it has a coupon? Personally, I don't need 3D, but I have the 3D version pre-ordered at Amazon because of the coupon. If I had a membership that needed fulfilling now though, I would dump the pre-order and just order the 2D version, because to me it's about cost per disc with these clubs, and 7.xx is better than 24.xx.

Alternatively, even if you really want 3D, you might consider ordering the 2D version from the club anyway and flipping it, as you could certainly get more than 7.xx for it, which would bring down your total club costs.

Personally, I think it is worth the extra $7 to get a commitment out of the way.

The free shipping deals are the best time to knock out commitment titles imo. When they had Cinderella up for pre-order at $24.95, I went ahead and pre-ordered it along with Father of the Bride I/II($13.17) and got free shipping.

I think I am going to hold off on picking up The Avengers. I want to wait and see what the b&m stores have to offer first. I may pick up the The Rescuers: Special Edition 2-Movie Collection + The Aristocats BD deal for $39.95 w/ free shipping. Will up my avg. per title some, but still not a bad deal.

Yeah I really want to have he 3D I never saw it in theaters and would like to experience in 3D. Obi you have a great idea to filp it for profit but then I have to put it on sale and risk getting screwed and besides I'll be honest I'm just plain lazy about thinks like that.

Can anyone tell me if the Disney Club pre-orders are release day delivery or does it take awhile? Also to they wait to charge you when it ships or when you pre-order it?

They try to ship it so you have it on release day, although it may arrive a day early or a day late. And they will charge you when it ships.

The enrollment package usually arrives within a week or so. The commitment orders seem to take a little longer for some reason.

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!

I have two commitments left and would like to order the two Ghibli blu-rays. Right now, with the current promotion ("buy-one-get-33%-off-others"), I imagine that I would only get credit for one fulfillment.

Is there a way I can manually remove or decline the discount in order to buy two normal price blu-rays in the same order (cheaper shipping, I imagine), thus ending my commitment obligation?

That seems like what I'm looking for -- where do I find the special offers button? Thanks for the help.

The next new offer you get after you change to VIP should be something like buy one, get the rest for 50 or 60% off.

But honestly, if there's a lot of stuff you still want, it's better to close your account and start a new one. I've never ordered anything as a VIP.

Yes..I am looking to get bunch of 3D titles with VIP discounts..once I get those I plan to cancel to rejoin. I was hoping discounts offer to shows once I get VIP status..but it looks like I need to wait

It has been mentioned upthread that a $24.95 pre-order can be used as a commitment. Is that any $24.95 pre-order or are some marked as being eligible, for example the Featured Selection?

The reason I ask is that I see no $24.95 pre-order exception to the standard $29.95 commitment requirement in the "Terms of Membership":
As a Disney Movie Club member, all you need to do is buy 3 movies at regular Club prices in the next 24 months (starting at $29.95 per DVD and $29.95 per Blu-ray), plus shipping and processing of $3.95 for the first title in each order, and $1.49 for each additional title in that same order. You may cancel your membership at any time after purchasing the 4 movies.

By agreeing to purchase at least 3 regular-priced movies in the next 24 months, you qualify to receive 5 Disney Movies of your choice from the list of titles currently available from the Disney Movie Club for $1.00. Shipping and processing is free. Please allow 2-4 weeks to receive your first shipment. YOU MAY ALSO TAKE A 6TH MOVIE NOW AT THE SPECIAL PRICE OF JUST $11.95. PLUS YOU PAY NO ADDITIONAL SHIPPING AND PROCESSING CHARGE. This Bonus Movie will even count towards your purchase commitment, so you'll only need to purchase 2 more movies in the next 24 months instead of 3. PLUS YOU CAN SAVE EVEN MORE by selecting a 7TH movie NOW FOR the special price of JUST $8.95 AND STILL PAY NO ADDITIONAL SHIPPING AND PROCESSING CHARGE. About every 4 weeks (up to 13 times a year) you will receive a mailing indicating the "Featured Title." Plus you may also receive up to 2 more seasonal Featured Title mailings a year. That's up to 15 buying opportunities a year! You can choose to receive the Featured Title, an alternate, or no movie at all. If you do not inform us of your choice within 10 days or by the date specified on the card (either by returning the card, visiting the website, or by calling the 800 number on the card), the Featured Title will be automatically shipped to you.

When you join the Disney Blu-ray Movie Club, you may provide us with your credit card information (website accepts credit card orders only). You will be charged only for the movies that you order (including Featured Title shipments) plus shipping and processing. We will not charge your credit card until the date of shipment. Sorry, we do not accept debit cards or check cards at this time.

You agree to fulfill your purchase commitment within 24 months of sign-up. If you are unable to meet your commitment within your commitment period, your credit card may be charged for the value of the 4 reduced-priced titles you have received. This amount is dependent upon your initial sign up offer and the format of your introductory movies...

It never has been mentioned officially in the terms, but it is sometimes mentioned on the product page, and every 24.95 pre-order I have ever placed has counted, whether it was stated on the product page or not.

^Thanks. I may call them to see if I can get a CSR to verify that the one I want is eligible. But your experience suggests that it is.

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!

It'd be really awesome if we got a free shipping code, then fulfill with Brave and Finding Nemo at 24.95 each for an awesome average.

I called the Disney Club and verified that any $24.95 pre-order does qualify for commitment.

I ordered two pre-orders together (The Avengers and Brave) to save a bit on shipping. My average for the membership came to $8.58/BD. Not as good as with free shipping but not too shabby either.

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!

I haven't been in any type of movie club since the early 90s. When the Disney Club pack came in the other day I figured I'd bite. The 5 movies for .20 deal was too good to ignore. I let my 2 year old pick out all the movies he wanted except for A Bug's Life which I HAD to finally pick up on Blu-ray. With the 7 total films we picked up it'll be nice to stash some away for snowy/rainy days.
