I couldn't find a link either, I had to call the Club to order it. The "cast member" had no trouble placing the order for me.

For some reason it seems to be too close to release—my order already says "processing"—to still be listed on the website.

So, just give them a call. I got right through at around dinner time here (MDT).

Edit: I just got the "shipped" notice today. For a September 25th release? Interesting.

For those interested, Finding Nemo, December 4th, is also a $24.95 pre-order.

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!

Thanks Lizard. I just called and they said it will be the feature title starting next week and it might have free shipping.

I have it pre-ordered on Amazon right for $25. The 3D version. So if I can get it off Disney for $31 shipped I might just take it lose the $6 but get a commitment under my belt.

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!

So I signed up and got my 7 titles for 21.xx and that meant I had to buy 4 more over whatever span of time. Now when I check my account one of the enrollment titles now has the symbol next to it showing it counts as a commitment title. I wonder if it is a glitch that will get fixed or if I am really off the hook for 1 of the 4 commitment titles.

Pretty much every offer code allows one of the 2 extra titles in your enrollment package to count as a committment title, read the terms of your offer again. However, if you had used the best offer code, you should have got 2 commitment titles from your enrollment order, and only had 2 more to buy.

You used a bad code. 17674B or 17674D will give you the same 7 titles for $21.90 with only 2 titles to fulfill.

I believe that only one of the bonus titles counts for commitment. But the best codes have only three required commitments, so it amounts to the same thing: two more after the enrollment package.

The reason to take the second bonus enrollment BD is that it is a good deal: $8.95 plus free shipping.

Terms of Membership:
As a Disney Movie Club member, all you need to do is buy 3 movies at regular Club prices in the next 24 months (starting at $29.95 per DVD and $29.95 per Blu-ray), plus shipping and processing of $3.95 for the first title in each order, and $1.49 for each additional title in that same order. You may cancel your membership at any time after purchasing the 4 movies.

By agreeing to purchase at least 3 regular-priced movies in the next 24 months, you qualify to receive 5 Disney Movies of your choice from the list of titles currently available from the Disney Movie Club for $1.00. Shipping and processing is free. Please allow 2-4 weeks to receive your first shipment. YOU MAY ALSO TAKE A 6TH MOVIE NOW AT THE SPECIAL PRICE OF JUST $11.95. PLUS YOU PAY NO ADDITIONAL SHIPPING AND PROCESSING CHARGE. This Bonus Movie will even count towards your purchase commitment, so you'll only need to purchase 2 more movies in the next 24 months instead of 3. PLUS YOU CAN SAVE EVEN MORE by selecting a 7TH movie NOW FOR the special price of JUST $8.95 AND STILL PAY NO ADDITIONAL SHIPPING AND PROCESSING CHARGE. About every 4 weeks (up to 13 times a year) you will receive a mailing indicating the "Featured Title." Plus you may also receive up to 2 more seasonal Featured Title mailings a year. That's up to 15 buying opportunities a year! You can choose to receive the Featured Title, an alternate, or no movie at all. If you do not inform us of your choice within 10 days or by the date specified on the card (either by returning the card, visiting the website, or by calling the 800 number on the card), the Featured Title will be automatically shipped to you...

You are correct. I'm thinking of the old DVD club. Back then there was a code where the commitment was 4 but both bonus titles counted.

The best code now has 3 commitments and one of bonus titles count.

As much as I researched CH codes the other day I failed to look around for Disney codes. Oh well. 3 instead of 2 left to buy isn't too bad but as a fan of finding deals I am kicking myself a bit.

The order came in today and they sure do skimp on packing these things to ship. The "cardboard" bag they came in seems on par with a paper grocery bag. I'm going to open A Bug's Life but I guess the rest will be put back for the next few holidays.

I find that the "sticky cardboard" mailers that the Disney Club uses work quite well. The problem with regular boxes is that the disc cases can slam around and get damaged unless they are well cushioned, which rarely happens because it takes extra time, effort, and materials (the Amazon air bladders are often worthless IME).

Crushing could be a problem with the Disney mailers but it hasn't been significant for me. My recent enrollment had one slipcover that was creased on one end from crushing. But that was the extent of the damage. Seven BD sets for $8.58 each remains a pretty good deal and I don't expect expensive, robust packaging.

Got my pre-order copy of The Avengers from the Disney Club today, early as expected:

Not bad for $8.58 (the average cost of my membership titles).

Anybody else with an early delivery?

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!

So, I'm ready to quit and re-enroll, when I got this snail-mail offer that uses three-digit item codes. Is there a list of these codes anywhere? The little stickers included aren't much of a selection.

Don't bother with a mail enrollment. Check post 407 above and use one of those codes to enroll online. For a good average cost per title be sure to purchase both bonus BDs since the first qualifies for commitment and the second is a good deal at $8.95.

You should be able to enter the enrollment code here:

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!

I'd like to find a way to refer a friend with a decent selection for both his enrollment titles and me for my referral reward.

Ordered The Avengers big ol' package for $31.95 and they had a deal to add Captain America so it was only $49.95 total for the pair. Placed my order and then realized, waitasec - that means Cap is $18 and not the $8 steal I thought! Cap was good, but not $18 good. Called and canceled Cap and it went smoothly. Picked up James and the Giant Peach for $14, too, which is a good price compared to Amazon right now.

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!

^To get the best deals from the DMC, you really need to think about your membership in terms of cost per title. Best thing to do is fulfill as cheaply as possible and get out. Then if you like, you can start a new membership and start over. You can't think about how much you pay for your fulfillment titles, as even with 24.95 pre-orders with free shipping, you will usually pay more than you would for the same title in a store, but if you think about the fact that you got 9 titles for 8.XX apeice, that's pretty darn good for Disney titles.

Also, you can't refer a friend and get your referral bonus and have your friend also get the best offer. In order for the referral to work, your friend has to order with the default offer, which is no where near as good as the one you get with the best code. I generally don't refer friends, because I'd rather have them get a good deal than for me to get a free movie.

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!

I've been trying to be in that mentality and when it looked like the 4-disc was going to be at or around $30 pretty much everywhere I didn't have an issue with it but $12 is a pretty big difference.

Cinderella, on the other hand, at $25 seems reasonable and we went with that. We'll probably conclude enrollment titles with Brave this fall.

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!

Yeah, but even things like adding James and the Giant Peach at $14, even though it seems like a good deal compared to the store, will increase your cost per title.

If there's enough other titles you're interested in, JATGP could be added to your next enrollment.

Cinderella order went through yesterday so I'm hoping on the phone call they'll let me move JATGP over to that order and keep that 40% off price.

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!

FYI, that worked. I haven't been in a club like this since BMG back in the 90s and I am pleasantly surprised by the customer service level. Excellent!

As Obi-Wan Jabroni pointed out above, it isn't a "$12" difference because a club membership should be viewed as a package deal. Buying it from the Disney Club is much cheaper, about $11 or so total price, depending on how you calculate your DMC membership.

A standard club membership using $29.95 fulfillments with individual order shipping would look like this:

Enrollment: $21.90 (7 BDs)
Fufillment: $29.95 + $3.95 (shipping) + $29.95 + $3.95 (shipping) = $67.80 (2 BDs)
Total: $21.90 + $67.80 = $89.70 (9 BDs)

Average cost per BD: $89.70/9 = $9.97
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A standard club membership using $24.95 pre-order fulfillments, purchased together to save on shipping, would look like this:
Enrollment: $21.90 (7 BDs)
Fufillment: $24.95 + $3.95 + $24.95 + $1.49 = $55.34 (2 BDs)
Total: $21.90 + $55.34 = $77.24 (9 BDs)
Average cost per BD: $77.24/9 = $8.58
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A standard club membership using two $31.95 fulfillments, like The Avengers 4 disc set, with two shipping charges would look like this:

Enrollment: $21.90 (7 BDs)
Fufillment: $31.95 + $3.95 + $31.95 + $3.95 = $71.80 (2 BDs)
Total: $21.90 + $71.80 = $93.70 (9 BDs)

Average cost per BD: $77.24/9 = $10.41
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are other ways to calculate the relative cost of a fulfillment title but the point is that it is way cheaper to buy than the apparent purchase price because the enrollment package greatly lowers the average cost of each title. So, getting The Avengers 4 disc set is cheaper at DMC than at Target or Amazon.
Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!
Thanks for the tips. Still really new to this. I will say that while we like JATGP already, it will come with a code for a free ticket to Wreck-It Ralph which we plan on seeing anyway so that's an excellent savings right there.
Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!
Though I cycled through the CH club many, many, times I just enrolled in the DMC for the first time recently. (Thanks for the codes!)
This has probably been mentioned before, but if you join the Disney Movie Blu-ray Club through the Disney Movie Rewards site, and use a code, you won't get the 500 bonus points. I e-mailed them about it twice and both times they said the bonus only applies if you pay $1 per enrollment title.
It's not a huge deal, but you'll have to decide whether you want the 500 points or $5 in savings. I'll go for the points next time.
