This has probably been mentioned before, but if you join the Disney Movie Blu-ray Club through the Disney Movie Rewards site, and use a code, you won't get the 500 bonus points. I e-mailed them about it twice and both times they said the bonus only applies if you pay $1 per enrollment title.

It's not a huge deal, but you'll have to decide whether you want the 500 points or $5 in savings. I'll go for the points next time.
It's significantly more than $5 in savings. If you don't use a code, you have more fulfillments to buy, and I think the 6th and 7th titles in your enrollment package also cost more.

EDIT: Just confirmed specifics. Without a code, you have 4 fullfillments to buy after your enrollment, and the 6th and 7th titles in your enrollment package cost 14.95 and 9.95. With the best code, you have 2 fulfillments to buy after enrollment, and the 6th and 7th titles in your enrollment package cost 11.95, and 8.95. So it's its more like a $60-70 savings to use the code (and possibly more depending on what you order as your fulfillments).

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!

quick question. does anyone know if Toy Story and Toy Story 2 come in the blu ray packages? I've got them both, but in the DVD packages. I'd like to swap these out and send the blu rays to Amazon, which would basically be a wash with the credit they give me. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!

Do all $24.95 pre-orders count as fulfillment titles, or only when it's part of the featured offer? Specifically, if I order Brave will it count?

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!

Decided to sign up today, since a friend of mine had recently done it as well.

Used the code that was posted here that only asked for 3 commitment titles in 2 years.

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!

Considering signing up for this but I've never done anything with clubs... So If I pick the 7 titles for $21.xx with the code I'll only need to purchase 2 full priced titles after that in 2 years?

edit- okay I get that part...

Here's where I need some assitance- They mail you a thing every 4 weeks or so about the featured title and if you don't respond they automatically ship and charge for that title. Do they email you about the featured title or just snail mail? I'd prefer to find out via email so I can decline the title immediately rather than waiting for it in the mail and hoping it doesn't get lost.

They do email you, but it is just as easy to check online when you're aware a new one is coming. Of course, there are a couple of random featured titles that pop up since you get 14-15 featured titles a year.

bit the bullet and signed up last night. Too good of a deal to pass up even when I really shouldn't be spending the extra $ right now

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!

I made an order last month that said if I picked up certain blu-rays (we got James and the Giant Peach) we'd get a free ticket to Wreck-It Ralph. Thing is, I checked email and the Disney Movie Club website today so I can pick a theater now that we're ready to go and I can't find a code or whatever.

Where should I look and what should I look for?

I got a free ticket to Wreck-It Ralph when I entered my points for James And The Giant Peach.

Got my first 7 movies and aside from the slipcover of Dumbo needing some glue they're perfect. This is a great deal.

You ordered yours before I did, weird. I have no idea where they ship from (didn't bother to look) so it's possible I'm closer on the east coast.

Looks like it's Wisconsin, so that's probably it.

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!

Got my first 5 titles today. The cardboard mailer smashed up some of the cases & slipcovers real good, but I can't complain for the price.

Why didn't you order the 6th title and 7th title? 6th title counts toward your commitment leaving only 2 to buy, and the 7th title is a pretty darn good deal even if it doesn't count toward your commitment (assuming you used the best code).

DOH!

I didn't know the 6th counted towards commitment, or else I would have done it.

You should be able to get The Great Mouse Detective if you call in to enroll. War Horse is a Dreamworks film that is distributed by Touchtone, which don't seem to show up in the club.

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!

Looks like I screwed up. Instead of picking up Brave on Black Friday for dirt cheap like a normal person I let it come as my featured title / final fulfillment title. It arrived and it's the standard combo pack instead of the ultimate edition I thought was coming (seriously - other titles like Finding Nemo are offered as the ultimate edition for featured title but all of a sudden Brave wasn't?). Shipping for the first order plus shipping for a replacement ultimate edition just kills the whole deal so I'm sending it back and I'll pick it up at Amazon for $30 free shipping. Even though it's a lot more money than if I'd been smarter and canceled it when I saw Black Friday prices, it's better than what it would be otherwise.

Oh, well. New to the club. Live and learn.

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!

You're going to have to eat one or two ridiculously priced blus from DMC. The real crux of the club is the enrollment deal.

You just have to decide which films you get hosed on.

Re: Disney Blu-ray Club!

The site went through a redesign this morning. There are a few new titles added, several 3D titles have had their club price reduced to $31.95, and there are several new titles available for enrollment. You can also select to have an entire order placed at regular club price which is good for fulfilling orders.
