yes it does. No problems with mine yet...watched the movie w/ commentary and scanned the 45 minutes of storyboards.(it's on side a, the rest of the doc in on side b)

going to watch side b tonight and will get back to ya if there's any problems. I didn't have any issues with Casino, so hope this one is smooth too.

yeah...i thought i'd try and see if they would have it early...i got the re-issue of The Thing there a few days early too. But sometimes their computers refuse the sale, and that can suck.

I got it early as well at my local Borders. Thanks LeeVing for the heads up!

I didn't mind either paying a steep $28 for it, considering I got it early which is cool, and the LD, as you know, once was at a whopping $400 price tag on eBay .

So this was a good deal for me, and it should work just fine in my dvd player.

Other viewers may or may not have some problems. My copy also hade a made in mexico sticker on back.

I still wish this was a 2 disc set.

I just check CC's website and it says $19.99 I don't think anyone is going to have this on sale. This looks like a nice Columbia House enrollment in a few months.

yes it does, but the 45 minutes of storyboards are on side one of the disc and not with the rest of the doc.

this should have been a 2 disc release with dts, but it's good and worth the wait.

Thanks to LeeVing for posting details about the disc.

Can someone confirm if french subtitles are available on the documentary and bonus features ? Our overseas edition won't feature the director's cut (can you believe it ?) and I plan to order the R1 DVD instead.

Thanx in advance for you answers !

From what I read on http://tbhl.theonering.net the German set comes with everything the R1, plus the theatrical cut, and it is spread over 4 discs instead of an 18 double sided...

Does anyone know what this means?

"Frighteners: Director's Cut (1996) (Includes King Kong Movie Pass) (FS Only)"

That's the DVD description on Future Shop's website... does that FS mean Full Screen?

The Kong Kong ticket is not exclusive to Future Shop. I've seen that promotion on amazon.com and I'm betting most copies will have the ticket at various retailers.

Future Shop is a CANADIAN CHAIN and IN CANADA THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO HAVE THE KONG TICKET. So, for anyone who can actually shop at a future shop, it is an exclusive and only available there (ie. Canadians).

I was seriously pissed off today, NONE of my future shops have gotten Frighteners: DC or Tremors Attack Pack in yet...I was told maybe thursday... pisses me off since they had TONS of the mummy and jurassic sets...the 2 I don't want to buy! I'll have to wait a few days (which kills since I had been emailing Universal at least twice a month since 2000 asking for a Frighteners SE on dvd).

I don't understand why there was no mention of this release in any of the major B&M stores -- my Best Buy didn't even get any. With Peter Jackson at the helm, and King Kong's approaching theatrical release date (and a free ticket in side, no less), it just seemed to fly under the radar.

Got mine at Newbury Comics (Boston, MA) for $19.99, and came with the Kong ticket.

My local Best Buy (which is one of the biggest, and best stocked Best Buys in the country) only got 2 copies in - they had them in the horror section - I also checked the new release section and table, and no dice, only 2. Well, none now, as I bought one and hid the other for my friend that'll buy it later today.
