Got the JP set with a Kong ticket so if I can find a Taiwan set of the Frighteners I may get that as well and get a second ticket. I'll check CC tomorrow.

Tried Best Buy, Circuit City and Frys. No luck all around. Off to online shopping.

Got mine at Circuit City yesterday. It was the only copy and it was hidden away in the M section. Best Buy had none. Glad I snagged it because I hadn't even read this thread and had totally forgotten about it coming out this week. Man, I ran home and popped that sucker in my player on side B and practically peed myself when I saw the run time of 3 hr 45 min for the doc and 45 min for the storyboards. PJ even announces himself on the intro that this is all the material from the legendary laserdisc set. Woo-hoo!

Similar story here. None at Best Buy. A blue dude checked the computer to see if other stores in Colorado got copies, and only a handful did! What's that about? Went across the street and found two copies at Circuit City.

Jackson is my hero, man. I wonder if he had to fight to get that whole doc on there. He's really got his finger on the pulse of his fanbase.

My guess is that ticket is only good in the USA... I'd look at the fine print if I were you.

Yeah, like Tim Robbins in "the Shawshank Redemption" this is like chipping away behind that Rita Hayworth poster. Definitly not something you can finish up in one day, unless you really wanted to. Not me though, I have been chipping away at it.

Has there been another dvd from a major studio that's been harder to find on release day?

What's the deal?

The Hammer Horror and Bela Lugosi sets weren't too plentiful when they were released. Both are from Universal. My local Circuit City still hasn't gotten these in yet.

Just wanted to note again that there were plenty at Wal*Mart yesterday. I guess if you hate W*M enough not to even check there...

Lots at Future Shop last night, but they weren't with the New Releases, they weren't in the computer system, and the guy who works the Entertainment section didn't even know what movie I was talking about.

I finally found them by the registers with the JP Adventure Pack, The Mummy Set, and the Tremors set... basiclly all the DVD's that had the Kong ticket in them

I'll have to wait another couple of weeks for mine to come through. The German version doesn't get released for another week, and I'll give a week on top of that for delivery. I'll get it around the same time as my Sin City SE order.

Just got back from my local Walmart. They had tons of them on a mass display along with Jurassic Park, Mummy set, and Tremors.

Finally Walmart does something right.

Your guess is wrong. Future Shop has the movie ticket exclusive in Canada and the tickets are good for just about ALL THEATRES IN CANADA... but you must see Kong before January 1, 2006 to use the freebie...although, honestly, who could wait that long! Got Frighteners and Tremors so will definitely be seeing Kong at least twice (dec. 14 & 15 most likely). Spinning the director's cut tonight! Can't wait.

How do you tell if The Frighteners DC is made in Mexico or Taiwan without opening it up? The one I looked at in a store had no stickers listing the country of manufacture.

Also, Columbia House now lists The Frighteners DC and I thought it would be a perfect candidate for using my Funcash because it's not discounted much at any B&M stores, but it won't let me use Funcash on it for some reason. Does anyone know why?

The "Made in Mexico" sticker on mine was hard to find. It's a clear sticker with black text that sat over the far right section of the movie credits on the back of the slipcover. I found it by running my finger over the case. Not sure if you could do the same when it's still wrapped in plastic.

Hope so, ordered mine quite recently from CD-Wow and going on past experiences with them, titles are often subject to delays in them fulfilling pre-orders etc so will wait and see what happens given that i'm expecting this to have been a popular title for them.
