Well, you can stop your drooling, as they won't ship that over-seas (unless you try ebay), but still, it doesn't look like they get a Scott commentary, which I'm sure the R1 dvd will have - I'd rather get the commentary than that packaging.

So the question is...what is the problem with shipping it? Cause if you really wanted it, could you not have someone in Australia buy it and then send it to you?

I have no doubt this set will be available in R1, and for a lot less money too, looking at past Warner special edition releases.

No drooling for me as I don't give a flying fuck about a briefcase full of unnecessary junk.

However, it is interesting to see what's included in the final set.

I don't think most people are drooling over the briefcase, they're drooling over the DVD specs (which will hopefully be the same for the R1 release).

Or at least I am...

Holy shit that's nice! I hope R1 gets this with commentaries and DTS tracks but that wouldn't turn me off from buying this.

I wouldn't be too concerned about there being no commentaries listed yet. There still seems to some question about the some of the content (notice how Disc 4 has "TBC" next to it, and Disc 5 says it "potentially" will have the UK doc). Plus, it doesn't have any info about audio tracks.

How good can the transfers of the "original" three versions be if they're all on one disc (that is, can three movies fit on one disc)?

The international and US cuts will be on the same disc via seamless branching and it appears that the director's cut will be on disc 3 with the documentary. It says discs 2-3 contain three movie cuts. So two discs to spread them out

I read that line as:

Disc 2 - 3 Complete Film Versions

not as "Disc 2 and 3", so I think all three are supposed to be on Disc 2.

EZYDVD does ship overseas. I have ordered from them before and they are quite good.
Easy check is put a dvd into your cart and they will ask you if you want to convert prices. 1 choice is for the USA.

The three cuts are all pretty similar. The European version adds a few seconds of violence, and the '92 Director's Cut just deletes the ending, adds the unicorn dream, and removes the narration. So a few minutes of branched footage and an alternate audio track shouldn't hurt too much.

However, in this case they specifically say they will not ship this item overseas.

If there's one thing I've ever wanted, it's for a DVD set that comes in a briefcase.

I for one, hope it DOES come in the briefcase. Knowing 99% of R1 releases, though, it will not and will not come with the extra "fluff" stuff like:

Collectible Model Spinner
Collectible Origami Unicorn
Collection of photographs from film
Letter from Ridley Scott

but who knows?

I feel like it's likely that the text of the letter will appear in the booklet or in some way in the set; didn't both 'Alien' and 'Legend' have one-page notes from Ridley Scott explaining the different cuts?

OK, that makes sense. I'm looking forward to this release.

I know on 'Alien' there was a subtitle track that alerted the viewer as to what was new footage, and on the commentary track Scott admitted that the DC was a marketing tool conceived by Fox; he just went along with it to get the film back into theaters for an Anniversary Release.

Wow those initial specs I read over on DavisDVD are incredible, but no Ridley Scott commentary?
