Don't know if this has been posted yet, but here's a look at the contents:

I'm not sure I agree with that interpretation of the image. It shows the same digipak three different times in the image, just folded different ways so that you can see all sides/art. I just don't know what that black thing is on the left side of the image, my guess is a slipcover but who knows?

wow, you're right. that's misleading in a way. i mean, i just glanced at the image and thought, "that's a CRAZY amount of stuff in that briefcase!" and it still is quite a bit, but they really shouldn't have put the different variations of the digipak in the same pic. they should've just had a sidebar showing the foldout.

I don't understand how they can fit five discs in the open digipack, as there doesn't appear to be enough room to hold them all.

The first two pages that hold discs have overlapping spaces for them (so 2 discs per page). Fifth disc is on the last page.

So wait a minute--what will be (if there is definitive information) on the 5th disc that distinguishes this masturbatory set from the mundane 4-discer?

Im wondering what the market will be for just the briefcase and extras? I'd like the 5 discs, but have no interest in the bells and whistles.

I'm a little surprised at all the folks complaining about this. Whenever overseas used to get exclusive things like this (the Alien head or the Godzilla head), everybody on the forums would be like "those darn foreigners, gettin' all the good stuff!". But when we get something like this or the Ape head, everyone's all "the studios are bending us over and selling us up the river!"

Which is it people?

And put me down for a briefcase please.

Both? Some want it and some don't. It seems like "everybody" because you mostly heard from the complainers. Those who were content to get (or even preferred) the simple packaging didn't say so.

Exactly. I guess to be safe I will be sure to go into threads dealing with foreign exclusive packaging and share my relief that we didn't get it.

Count me in as somebody who would buy a price reduced 5 disc set without the briefcase. I don't have any interest in the rest of the stuff. In fact, I'm also somebody who would have never bought the Alien head over the Quad box.

I think you might be right, but I was confused by the fact that it doesn't look to be double layer trays on the flaps of the digipak. That would make the most sense, but it just doesn't look right.

If given no other option I'll by the case for the 5 disc package and put the briefcase aside. Unless somebody would be interested in buying the extra stuff alone.

As a fan of the film (and film in general) I have an interest in acquiring the 5th disc with the workprint and the 2 extra docs. I do not have any interest in an overpriced metal case full of toys and extras, for which I have no room to waste on my nearly full shelves.

The hi-def crowd gets to choose from the briefcase and a 5-disc digipak, why not the rest of us???

What he said. My hope is that I post enough complaints about this stupid set that they'll release a regular 5-disc digipack.

Exactly, if given the choice between the four disc set and the five disc set I'd definitely purchase the five disk set, but I'm not going to pay $30 extra for it just to get a bunch of stuff I don't want.
