Nightmare 3 is awesome! Come on, giant Freddy using veins as strings and controlling a human puppet? I love that movie. Might have to watch it again soon.
Can I get triple points for sitting through all of "Audrey Rose"?

Yeah, that's it. I don't think it was called "Shriek in the Woods" but it might have been released under more than one title. It used to be listed on the Stomp Tokyo website but they stupidly erased all their older reviews so I couldn't find it...I was SURE the movie was called "There's Nothing Out There" when I rented it but apparently that's some other movie.

Never mind, I just looked it up (which I should have done the first time my friend argued with me) and the movie I was talking about IS called "There's Nothing Out There."

In the first couple, Freddy seemed more interested in killing than trying to come up with some crazy scheme to kill one person while reciting all the jokes he came up with the night before.
But that's just me. Part 4 is the last one, besides New Nightmare, where I can't remember what happened in which movie. I can remember more about how people were killed than what else happened. All I remember out how some movies between 4 and the last one is that some chick was pregnent, she had the kid, she also went to elm street at some point. I can't even remember how many their are exactly and I own the freaking box set!!!

I grew up on the original too, and I even think the second one was good even though a lot of people dont care for it. Its still very Dark. I saw it in the theatre when I was 4, and when I got home I had 1/2 my ear torn off by a pitbull. Fun stuff.
As for 3 though, it is the blend of darkness and comedy that makes it so good. Freddys wit seperated him from just being some killer I.e the shap or Jason vorhees. And the jokes werent bad yet... ( DO YOU THINK IM YOUR DADDY????? UH_UH from FD?) the kills where still good. ( the tv death is still the best ever in the series I think) and it still makes sense and didn't have to delve into gimmicks ( a child, a real movie, or 3-d.) Even his Lines at each death are awesome. " Welcome to prime time bitch" is probally the most famous line next to " I'm your boyfriend now Nancy."

All this NoES talk makes me regret selling the boxset (unopened) years ago. I have still only seen the original, and loved it. And while I'm sure that I'll be let down by most of the sequels, I'm a sucker for watching a series back to back to back to......
Maybe I'll pick it up again if I start running out of things to watch later in the month.

).I still remember buying 3 on VHS the day it came out. I may not like it so much since I watched it a bunch of times.
As for the box set, I really like the commentary on the first one and was really, really, disappointed that the only other one was on New Nightmare, which was also good.

I would have liked a commentary track on part 4 because that movie catered so well to the MTV crowd that it was genius even though I hated the movie. Watching it with friends to mock the hell out of it was fun.
And I really liked part 2 when I saw it. Not so much now but some of the deaths are creepy, and the premise is awesome, and the gay angle is cool. :-D

does anyone own or listened to the Sean S. Cunningham commentary for 'Friday the 13th' - which annoyingly, is not on the region 1 SE edition. I listened to his commentary with Wes Craven for 'Last House on the Left' last year, and I have to say it was very dissappointing.

I should take a day and watch the NOES boxed set and the F13 boxed set another day. Even when they're bad, I love those movies.
