Not to keep on a "negative" vein, but I agree with everyones comments that it is ridiculous to question other's lists or complain about any part of this challenge.

We're all different, will interpret some rules slightly differently, have different sleeping patterns, different opinions, etc etc.

I can easily see someone watching up to 20 movies in a day, even more if they find some short ones. I can't imagine complaining about someone else's list. What are we, in junior high school? I love looking at other's lists, reading their comments, getting ideas for what to watch next.

This is a challenge, not a contest. If anyone is focusing on the prizes or "beating" others, you're missing the point. Like the special olympics, everyone who plays is a winner. Personally, I think we shouldn't have prizes at all, or make them totally random.

And seriously, that Showtime Child's Play time comment? Does anyone still watch live TV?

As for comfort movies, I have some, but they are not horror films. Horror films scare me, that's why I watch them. When I want comfort, I don't want to be scared. What, are you guys serial killers or something?

I've actually never seen Nightmare 3, I'll have to watch out for it.

Well, if we are, we probably won't admit it here...I'm talking more about movies we love to return to over and over, dependably good or scary/fun. Probably not the most serious of horror films -- for instance, Shaun of the Dead always puts me in a better mood, Jaws or Evil Dead.

And put me down as someone who does, on occasion, watch live TV. Which doesn't mean the rest of that guy's diatribe had any merit.

I don't think we can go with the "types of deaths" in the stat section. It would just be too large. There are single movies with 10 or more types of death, and the compete list could soon be up over a hundred.

But what about a list of famous horror directors? It sucks that only Boll (infamous for poor quality) is in the section so far. What about John Carpenter, Wes Craven, and Sam Raimi? Definitely not Rob Zombie, but I imagine there are a couple others we could include.

Just for grins, here are all the posted totals 30+ thru week one.

Chad - 37
EdTheRipper - 37
Mister Peepers - 53
Trevor - 39

Sabrett - 43

Looks like it's going to be KISS all day on Halloween, just received...

The Paul Lynde Halloween Special, and will also watch KISS in Attack of the Phantoms which is on the recently released Kissology Vol 2. I will also try to squeeze in my traditional viewing of Mad Monster Party? Talk about reliving your childhood....

For my last entry of the day, I think I'll curl up with either Bubba Ho-Tep or the MST3K version of Earth vs. the Spider.

I sense I'm among kindred spirits here, so: Who among us, admit it now, has "comfort food" horror movies?
A Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream, Halloween, and 28 Days Later are those movies I seem to watch over and over again. This new movie I discovered called "Hard" is another one (I'm strange; a sadistic serial killer movie comforts me).

Sorry! Must have missed it as I went thru the thread. I'll add you and double check the thread.

Edit to add: In my defense, it looks like you were just behind in editing your list, and fixed it after I posted the tally. I'm sure there are others who haven't kept their lists up to date as well.

I watched some boring movies yesterday. Dead Waters bored me to tears but then I hit Rumpelstiltskin. That started out good for 5 minutes and then just crapped out. The Gingerdead Man was bad but after watching those other two before it, it just seemed so much better.

For the "monster or creature feature" part of the bingo, could I count "Arachnaphobia"? I plan on watching some monster movies anyway so I know I'll hit that one anyway, I was just pondering that while I was sitting here watching it.

And yes, I am a serial killer. But when I was a kid I stayed up all night watching horror movies with my brother and I remember watching "Scream" with my friend at a slumber party, and those are really the only happy memories of my childhood, so I go back to those movies for that reason. "The Lost Boys" too, now that I think about it. And "Fright Night." I have fond memories of those movies. Speaking of "Fright Night, it's on Charter on Demand! I know what my ext movie is! Thanks for reminding me. :-p

Isn't there a big monster spider at the end?

I was also thinking of the director section but doing just one of their movies isn't much of a challenge so I was thinking about doing 3 for each director. Otherwise I'd just be filling in the spots already (A few I'd be doing already with the 3 but whatever).

The GF is getting tired of this challenge. She was complaining about me being up at 1am watching Shock Treatment (and that after viewing realized it doesn't even count as horror lol). Of course I also just broke her big bottle of lemoncello so she'll be very angry when she gets home

Yeah, it's not as big as King Kong or anything, but it's as big as the guy's head.

TSk, Tsk.... name calling.

Just stating my opinion buddy, now go back to watching your films

Shaun of the Dead, Shriek if You Know What I Did Last Friday the 13th, there was one I watched that was made in the early 90s and it was about a giant monster in the woods and these friends who stay in a cabin and it possessed people and made their eyes glow green and they went insane and tried to kill everyone...I don't remember the name though, but it was a definite send-up of horror movies, complete with a character who knew about horror movie conventions and talked to the screen. I hear "Return to Horror High" was intended as a spoof as well but I've never seen it.

Does "House of the dead" count as a spoof?

You can argue that it is as good as the original if not better. Plus Dokken... in the imortal words of Stan " The Man" Lee...... 'Nuff said

You could never argue that with me. The third is the worst for me.

Stan Lee is also insane. Who Wants to be a Superhero confirms this.

"Superhero, while on your mission you ignored the people that wanted your autograph. A true superhero will spend time with the public as he is their defender"

next episode

"Superhero, while on your mission you stopped to give an autograph to the public. You were on a mission and should've spent more time focusing on the mission instead of giving out your autograph.

Thats the one with the little green thing. I think its Shriek in the woods or something. I have to be way off. The first kill takes place in a video rental store?

Different strokes for different folks. Though I do not know how you could argue that Fredd's Dead is better. But to each their own.

No the insults thrown towards Stan Lee on the other hand are fighting words. Let me just get my claws out and I am good to go.

It's close but it barely wins for it's use of 3D.
