Anyone have any insight into the various network TV schedules? I'm sure that several networks will have some sort of Thanksgiving marathon, and/or Thanksgiving movies and specials leading up to the day.

Also, any thought into having a checklist/bingo card like we have for the horror challenge? Here's a quickee:

--- turns to -X- when you watch that item.

* = first time viewing
Thanksgiving Color
St. Andrew's Day Color
Christmas Color
Boxing Day Color
New Year's Color

Bingo Card/Checklist

--- Watch a Thanksgiving movie.
--- Watch a Thanksgiving TV episode.
--- Watch a Thanksgiving special.
--- Watch something animated about Thanksgiving.

--- Watch a Christmas movie.
--- Watch a Christmas TV episode.
--- Watch a Christmas special.
--- Watch something animated about Christmas.
--- Watch It's a Wonderful Life.
--- Watch some version of A Christmas Carol.

--- Watch a New Year's movie.
--- Watch a New Year's TV episode.
--- Watch a New Year's special.
--- Watch something animated about New Year's.

--- Watch something Charlie Brown.
--- Watch something about St. Andrew's Day.
--- Watch something about Christ.
--- Watch something Garfield.
--- Watch an Oscar winner.
--- Watch an Emmy winner.
--- Watch some version of Miracle on 34th Street.

Super Geek Addendum:

Watch one film from every decade, starting with the 1890's.
--- 1890:
--- 1900:
--- 1910:
--- 1920:
--- 1930:
--- 1940:
--- 1950:
--- 1960:
--- 1970:
--- 1980:
--- 1990:
--- 2000:
--- Watch a film/show from the year you were born.

--- Watch the MST3K version of a film.
--- Watch a film/show and its remake.
--- Watch a film/show based on or turned into a video game.
--- Watch a film/show based on a novel.
--- Watch a silent film.
--- Watch a film/show with commentary.
--- Watch a film/show that takes place in space.
--- Watch a film/show that takes place on or under the sea.

Watch a film/show for each rating:
--- G
--- PG
--- PG-13
--- R
--- Unrated

horror checklist linked here. Anyone have any thoughts?

I'll be watching it next week anyway, so if it counts, that's a nice bonus.

Nice list! One correction, the "Met Someone" episode of Mad About You (which is from Season 1, BTW) is a Christmas episode, not Thanksgiving. That's my fault, I had it listed with the Thanksgiving episodes by mistake.

I'll give this a shot this year. I'll have to get over my need to watch TV shows in order and pick and choose.

I can say, with all certainty, that I will not be watching anything Charlie Brown. I absolutely can't stand those specials.

No, the list is just to give you ideas, and let you know that you may already own more Christmas specials, episodes, movies than you think.

A truly complete list of Christmas shows would number in the tens of thousands. These lists won't be even 1% "complete".

I have the same issue. In fact, I just started watching the UK Office again so that when I watch the special it will be in order. I'm thinking that will kickoff my viewing next week, even though it's a Christmas special.

I'm going to be updating the rules tonight to be somewhat more specific on the rules. Nothing is going to change though, just more specific on what can be watched and what will not count.

Wow. No one has mentioned Strange Days yet (New Years)?

Edit: Ok, someone did mention this on Page 3.

The Monkees - Does your posts for Thanksgiving and Christmas consolidate everyone elses posts, or is just your list? Just a little confused

Yeah but those are the ones currently in the season sets. I think there are more and people are welcome to list them from the individual DVD releases.

I'm new to this challenge, so I'm not sure if these count or not but for Christmas TV episodes there is also:

The Sopranos 3.10: "To Save Us All From Satan's Power"
The Sopranos 6.12: "Kaisha"
The Office (US) 2.10: "Christmas Party"
The Office (US) 3.10: "A Benihana Christmas"

For four of the five, why are you asking? It's pretty obvious from the titles.

And googling shows that Kaisha is a Christmas Eve episode apparently.

There is also a SP Thanksgiving episode Tuesday night at 2130 on Comedy Central, and a Frank TV Thanksgiving episode Tuesday night at 2300 on TBS.

Anyone else have more?

And just to confirm/remind, the list thread is up everyone.

I think we answered that earlier in the thread.

Pretty sure it was a yes.
