Was that you, Throwback? Im having doubts since you also been interviewed on wwe.com (saw it in your blog) last February during batista's visit in your country because the guy i saw looks like you but was huge (in terms of physical shape) and sporting a Mohawk (which contradicts to what nodeerforamonth noticed about you)
Yep that would be me albeit 120lbs more bigger & heavier at that time The clip was taken from 3 years ago last September 2006 during Dave Batista's 1st Visit in Manila.

Dunno bout the 2009 interview why my friend who was one of the editors of WWE media department (won't name him here for undisclosed reasons) didn't add that but instead the pudgier 2006 one w/c is funny! a Nice cool rib on his part because i saw my old self & im on a WWE DVD even w/ a small slight second of fame.

Anyways took the plunge & own the dvd myself here are the pics for those who are interested.

It looks like the Batista set is rated TV14, the first in quite a while.

Also according to bestbuy.com the Hogan, Survivor Series Anthology, World Championship and Jeff Hardy are all rated TV14. (Hopefully this means no more black and white and editing which plagued the Stars of 90s and SmackDown sets.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII

Batista dvd is $19.96 at Walmart. Breaking Point was $14.96. Don't waste a dime at Best Buy unless you have to. And with Walmarts good prices on WWE stuff, and TNA dvds being sold at fye for 10-15 buck a pop, thankfully I don't have to! Hell I even brought the BB ad into Walmart and they price matched UFC100 for $12.99.

Add KMart to the list of stores that have downsized dvd sections. They were always on point on release dates with competitive prices on WWE titles, they haven't carried any WWE stuff since Night Of Champions. Man, does the Big K suck or what?!?

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII

I haven't watched a many new Superstar DVDs with matches since WWE went HD.

Do any of the newer DVDs (Batista's for example) put the more recent matches (WWE HD) in 16x9 format so we can fully utilize our Widescreen TVs when possible?

Nope. The DVDs are 4:3, even if the more recent matches were originally shot in HD.

The PPV DVDs however are in 16:9, they started doing it since Backlash 2008.

The Batista DVD has some images of drug use (specifically crack and marijuana) so that may be the cause for the TV14 rating.

We'll have to wait and see about the other ones you listed I guess.

The Batista DVD features the Hell in Cell match with Triple H right? If so...that match was quite bloody..does the screen switch to black and white during the blood or does it actually show it? If it shows it..thats a good sign that blood will not be censored on older dvds

Isn't the Hogan DVD just a repackage of the Anthology from back in 2005?

Do you have Batista's DVD? I know the releases have been all 4:3 since the HD transition but I want to know specifically if some of the most recent ones are also like this or if maybe WWE has changed things since. (I haven't purchased a superstar profile DVD since the Savage DVD)

Im aware of the PPV DVDs being 16:9, however they did not start with Backlash 2008. It actually started the release previous with WrestleMania XXIV (2008).

Did anyone take advantage of the SD vs. Raw + 4.99 DVD sale at Best Buy. Got the first Royal Rumble volume for 4.99. I know they're edited, but a dollar a disc aint bad.

In the beginning of the documentary, Batista talks about how bad the nighborhood was he grew up in, and to illustrate his point the WWE chose to show some stock footage of people smoking crack from a pipe and another clip of some marijuana being rolled into a joint.

The scenes are really out of place on the DVD and not necessary for the documentary. I can't understand why WWE would have made the choice to include them considering all the heat they get from wrestlers using drugs. Seems like they could have just let Dave talk about his old hood and move on without going to such extremes.

I got Breaking Point for my $4.99 DVD . The WWE selection at my Best Buy is fucking despicable these days. The only other shit they had that I would be interested in (Best of SNME, Smackdown 10th Ann., Starrcade), I already purchased when they came out. I tried to get them to let me buy the Eddie Guerrero tin set for the $4.99 but they wouldn't do it.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII

Anyone ever order from wrestlingclassics.com store? They have some choice dvds there that aren't avaiable anywhere else, but I'm hesitant to order as it seems like a ghost site with no contact info, and no kind of updates (that I can find). Any info would be appreciated.

What was their excuse for not letting you pick the Guerrero tin set? The only WWE DVD that was excluded from the offer was the Batista one.

Short answer: Best Buy is full of dumbass employees that don't understand any current sales.

Their only excuse was that the tin set was priced at like $49.99, double (or more) of what all their other WWE titles were priced at. I specifically mentioned that the ad said that only the new Batista release was excluded and they didn't budge.

Truth be told, I didn't really care too much that they denied me because I already have the regular Eddie "Viva La Raza" release. I was just going to get the tin because of the extra value and try to unload it on ebay anyway. It was a bit irritating that they no sold me, but it wasn't worth me raising a big stink over.
