I know it'll take some work to redo these titles with BD menus etc. but I really hope they do... all of those are MUST OWNS for me.
Well, I think its quite obvious that they will be released on Blu-ray. I have my fingers crossed that they will still be released on HD DVD.

Agreed. You have to assume those titles will be on BD soon. But I need them on HD DVD. I've already mentally categorized them as such, so they need to be available in red cases along with blue ones.

The HD-DVD release of "There Will Be Blood" has been pulled from the Paramount website now, according to highdefdigest.com

I wonder if this mean there will be a Blu-ray. I doubt they will do one day-and-date with the DVD release but I would take one a few weeks later even...

UPDATE: 2/25/08, 3:00pm ET Although Paramount has removed 'There Will Be Blood' from its press site as reported below, the title may not in fact be cancelled. According to retail reports, the studio is still planning an April 8th release date, but has put an embargo on release details until March 4. (Details for the standard DVD have also been removed.) Stay tuned...
I think this is going to end up being much ado about nothing. I think this title still comes to HD DVD.

BTW, it amazes me how many people cannot spell canceled right, even in the professional realm.

Cancelled is correct... Canceled is a British spelling.

As for an HD DVD of There Will Be Blood, we'll know more after March 4th, but it not looking good, if you want to believe the trailer here:

Then Firefox and Outlook must all be British, because they all red flag cancelled . Seriously, I used to spell it that way, but was tired of seeing that I'm wrong!

Actually, I thought the rest of the world used 'cancelled' while it is 'canceled' in the States? Both are listed in most dictionaries. My Webster dictionary claims both forms are correct.

I have no clue. For the longest time I spelled it cancelled, but Firefox, Outlook, etc tell me it's wrong, so I have switched to using canceled.

I refuse to change to canceled. It's not "cancelation", so why would it be canceled?

The Digital Copy banner has to go, then we're talking. Still, nice cover.

I agree. The Digital Copy banner should be a sticker on the shrinkwrap.

I wonder if Sony will release Air Force One on 5/6 as well? Don't know why they'd give preference to Devil's Own over that one...

Air Force One is very high on my list of wanted titles. I thought it would've gotten released last year because of its 10 Year Anniversary. But hopefully they're waiting when Indy 4 comes to video.

I would also love to have AFO but I don't want to spend $40+ for an import of it when I've heard mixed things about the PQ.

The forced subtitles suck for native Spanish speakers, and hopefully it's not the start of a bad trend by the studio. Still, I don't speak Spanish, so the subtitles being forced doesn't bother me for this particular release.

Actually something is incorrect with the announcement and that is why I bolded what I thought was off. You can not have an original Spanish audio track with forced English subtitles and optional Spanish subs (unless, and this would be a new one for me, you get subs no matted what...but then forced English subs would be incorrect of a description as well).

Something is off here!

Ah, good call. I'll bet they're not forced, then.

One Missed Call - Warner has set an April 22 arrival for the Blu-ray (day-and-date with the standard-def DVD), followed three weeks later by the HD DVD/DVD combo on May 13.

Now the studio has set a new (and we hope final) street date of May 13 for the Russell Crowe-starrer, which the studio will release concurrently with two other catalog favorites, 'Mrs. Doubtfire' and 'Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid' as part of a Father's Day-themed Blu-ray promotion.

'Master & Commander's bonus features remain as previously announced, including four deleted scenes and the film's original theatrical trailer (in HD). Exclusive to the Blu-ray are a BD-Java-based "Historical and Geographical Pop-Up Map," a "Search Content" feature, and D-Box enhancement.

Tech specs for the BD-50 dual-layer release include 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video, English DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround (48kHz/24-bit) and French and Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround and subtitle options.

MSRP also remains unchanged at $39.98.

I was on the fence about M&C but now that I can bitstream DTS-HD, I think I'll have to pick this one up.

I thought Master and Commander had one of the best DTS tracks on dvd, so the HD version should be reference.
