Considering Warner are scaling back on theatrical releases to focus on Blu-Ray you can tell how serious support for format is. Eventually Blu-Rays will be released say 2 weeks before the DVD and your already seeing DVD transfers getting worse (Sweeney Todd Be Kind Rewind to name a few) it's clear that industry does not want DVD and will do all in it's power to see die as quickly as possible.

If they want DVD to die, then they'd better start pricing Blu-ray a little lower. But I don't believe you, so it doesn't really matter.

Good news on Daredevil being the DC. It's a much better movie than the theatrical so I will purchase this when I can find it for less than 20.

Per one of the mods at blu-ray.com, the Daredevil: Director's Cut release will only be that version of the movie and contain only the DC dvd features.

Director's Cut Commentary by Mark Steven Johnson and Ari Arad
"Making of Director's Cut" featurette

No surprise there. At least Fox is including the DC DVD extras. They don't always do that.

Here's a list of upcoming Universal catalog titles that have yet to be announced but have been confirmed by a Universal BD brochure courtesy of highdefdiscnews.com.

Gizmo, don't freak out since there are no new catalogs that hasn't already been released on hd-dvd.

Yeah, I got the same pamplet inside all my Universal titles today.
Sucks...but hopefully 09 changes things.

I hope Knocked Up ports over the 2-disc's features.

Some titles Universal bailed on the first time I'll grab that hopefully arrive in their second HDM go-around:

Scarface (1983)
They Live
Prince of Darkness
Jaws
Jurassic Park
E.T.
Brick
Cape Fear (1991)
Back to the Future I/II
Mulholland Dr.
Lost Highway
The Last Temptation of Christ (through Criterion)

I thought the HD DVD had everything? I know there was some downloadable stuff...maybe its that? Some extra deleted scenes and a featurette?

From the High Def Digest review:
Unfortunately, it's not the ultimate 'Knocked Up' experience, as several features from the concurrently-released two-disc special edition DVD don't appear here, including a few featurettes, two gag reels, a Katherine Heigl audition tape and more.

...or from DVD Talk's expertly written review...

This HD DVD of Knocked Up tacks on a couple of next-gen extras, but it loses a hell of a lot from the two disc DVD set. The list of stuff on the chopping block goes something like this: one of the takes with Seth Rogen topless for no reason in particular, raw, uncut takes of a pair of scenes, footage of Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann's kids on the loose, two live performances by Loudon Wainwright III, a featurette on the score, a half-hour faux-documentary about all of the actors Apatow churned through before landing on Seth Rogen (remember?), a jokey bit about an unseen sixth roommate, somewhere in the neighborhood of an hour of additional and alternate scenes, a barrage of even more quips about Martin's beard, a half hour set of video diaries, a featurette on comedian-slash-real life doctor Ken Jeong along with a bunch of his improvised dialogue, a few quick comments from Jonah Hill and Seth Rogen about shooting their first sex scenes, Katherine Heigl's audition tape, and even a couple of Easter Eggs.

Wow...it got raped. I never ventured past a few of the features but damn...

Hot Fuzz is the one that got everything from the 3 Disc (which was not out at the time) set then, right?

The Digital Bits has added some titles and possible release dates to their Rumor Mill. Some have already been mentioned here, some haven't.

"Our industry sources have checked in today with word on a number of major upcoming Paramount DVD and Blu-ray Disc releases. Here's some of what you can look forward to (and when to look for them)...

The Love Guru (DVD & Blu-ray) - 9/16
Iron Man (DVD & Blu-ray) - 9/30
Indiana Jones IV (DVD for sure, Blu-ray undecided) - October
Kung Fu Panda (DVD & Blu-ray) - 11/18
Tropic Thunder (DVD & Blu-ray) - December

Here's a glimpse at some of the catalog Blu-ray titles on the way from Paramount and DreamWorks...

Anchorman: Legend of Ron Burgundy - 9/23
Old School - 9/23
Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd - 10/21
Stardust - December
Into the Wild - December

Also, we've learned that 20th Century Fox is working on the following titles for Blu-ray Disc release before the end of the year (or early in 2009 - these are in addition to catalog BD titles that we've mentioned previously)...

Daredevil: Director's Cut
Firefly: The Complete Series
The X-Men Trilogy
The Planet of the Apes Collection
The Deception
Jewel of the Nile: Special Edition
Dude, Where's My Car?
What Happens in Vegas

We'll post more information on these titles as it becomes available. As always, keep in mind that these titles and dates are unofficial and are subject to change until they're actually announced by the studio.

Stay tuned!"

Finally, Blue Underground has confirmed officially that The Final Countdown will street on Blu-ray on 10/28 (SRP $34.95). The disc will be a BD-50 release with audio in English 7.1 DTS-HD, 7.1 Dolby TrueHD and 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround EX, as well as English, French and Spanish subtitles. Extras will include audio commentary with director of photography Victor J. Kemper, 2 featurettes (Lloyd Kaufman Goes Hollywood and Starring the Jolly Rogers), theatrical trailers, TV spots and D-Box motion control support.
$35?

Pass.

The MSRP may be more than what we wanted it to be, but it is a 50GB disc with lossless audio, and it sounds like it contains the extras from the 2-disc DVD that Amazon is selling for $30. This BD should be quite a bit cheaper.

As for what Mr. Cinema posted, great news on Into the Wild.

Still a bit too much for a very unique title that is not going to move many units. I'll probably wait on most of the Blue Underground films. I spent a ton on all the Anchor Bay titles only to see them drop like a rock to $10-$13 within a few months and the ones they released were very popular, cult titles.

yeah, but that's economics. if you expect to sell a small number of units, you price it to get as much margin per unit as you can, at least initially. it'll get a price drop eventually, once they've sold as many as they think they can at that price.

Shnobi and Short Circuit both cracked the top 10 because of their low pricing (very low...but not as low as the Echo Bridge titles). $35 = 23 or so on Amazon...still not cheap enough. I might just initially buy Maniac.

Dude Where's My Car? on Blu-ray.

How typical of Fox, and Alien and Aliens and Fight Club still aren't out.

Well, it was one of the titles they had announced, then pulled in the spring of 2007, so it may already be done. I guess it will be a tie-in for What Happens in Vegas?

I know it's been said before, but in some way I think I'd rather they wait until they improve WRT catalog title pricing and extras before releasing the good titles like Alien and Fight Club. I also hope they'll listen to the criticism about DNR and stop using it.

Alien and Aliens are on their schedule for either a Q4 or early 2009 release.
