Well, get yourself an internet store and run your sales for decades.

This is clearly a loss-leader that there's no way they're making much more than a literal dime off of (if anything at all), so I think it's a bit tacky to complain.

There are plenty of tools out there that can monitor the price of an Amazon item and send you an email or text alert the moment it goes on sale. So if you don't want to lose, just stop snoozin'.

I might suggest the same to you, sir! However, I suspect you would likely be about as interested in the advice as I am.

These aren't sold by Amazon which is probably why the price is fluctuating. It's sold by Warehouse Deals. Amazon is at $36.49 -- when the price jumped back up it's probably because the stock was initially depleted.

Warehouse Deals is Amazon. They sell returned merchandise. In this case, the set was probably returned by a customer that didn't want it, unopened.

While I don't think Amazon actually does loss leaders, there are plenty of people that do exactly what you said because of the way Free Super Saver Shipping works.

I always wanted it but thought the U.S. price was way too much. Looks like the same set with Region Free BDs and less than 1/2 the price.

The US BD set is currently 27.55 at Amazon. That Uk set will cost at least double that even with VAT removed. Nice looking packaging though.

Does Coppolla like that version? Since it hasn't been released on a video format for more than 20 years, I wonder if it could be in that category of things that seemed like a good idea (to their directors) at the time but weren't in retrospect, like Spielberg's 2002 E.T. Apparently it was done for TV to raise money Apocalypse Now, which had gone over budget.

Speaking of alternate Coppollas, I hope that The Outsiders gets the original version (alongside the "Complete Novel" version) whenever it is eventually released. While I didn't mind the extra scenes at the beginning, I didn't care for the music changes.
