Like Dougboy said, it actually does fit right into the slipcase.

Mine came today, but there was no email about shipment. As for the booklet, it barely fits in the case, but it bends just a little.

BTW, I noticed that the rebate offer will work for Zodiac. I think my mother bought the theatrical version last year. They'll take that, right?

I like how the subtitles are in The Godfather font.

This is how the movies should've been released from the start. Easily, the best set of the year.

Amazon shipped this to me in an envelope as well...Kind of ticked that my copy has a scratch on the front that goes through the glossy blood part - I'm sure over the years of watching the outer case might have gotten a scratch or two but taking off the shrinkwrap to realize that big line isn't just on the wrap but on the actual box kind of sucked.

At first try I didn't think it fit either. Once people here said it did, I tried again, and it does fit. It's just an extremely snug fit. When you pull out the case for the movies, the booklet stays inside, but it's not scrunched. I'm not sure if that's just me, but I think that's pretty cool.

Add another one to the "confused at first as to why they would have a booklet larger than the case shrinkwrapped outside the case" but did just slip it in the case. Snug but works. Not sure why they didn't just put it in the case to begin with but no sleep will be lost. Now time to schedule the marathon Godfather-a-thon.

I think they attached the book to the back because it contains information about the contents of the set that the box doesn't actually have on it.

OK, what are people's thought on the PQ? I just got done watching "I". Although I thought it was very good (4/5 rating from me), the scenes when Michael went to Sicily were eye popping. Much much more sharp and colorful and I'd give those a solid 5/5).

I just got mine today and finished watching the same sequence in Sicily. This is one absolutely gorgeous presentation. Given the history of what's been given to us before on VHS, laser, and DVD, this is the defining release to me. I'm going to savor every bit of it - and that inclues Part III.....

I'm watching II ... in one of the night scenes in Cuba where there are guys trashing things out of the hotel (1:46:50) there appears to be a large, jig-saw piece cut out of the picture at the bottom of the frame ... was that always there in previous editions?

Yeah, that was there on the DVD that came out in 2001.

Finished watching "II". Very very pleased. BD comments aside, HOW in the world did Al Pacino lose to Art Carney for Best Actor that year. I've seen "Harry and Tonto" twice over the years. Both it and Carney were very good. But come on! I don't think Pacino has been better. I watch all three "Godfather" movies every year or so and Pacino still blows me away. Also, I think "II" is better than "I" by a hair.

Having seen all three numerous times over the years, I think II is better than I by a decent degree. Both are all time classics, but II is Coppola's finest achievement.

I had $15 in Borders Bucks (from filling out surveys online) and just placed an order for this set for $50.36.

I've never seen the films before. I hope they are as good as everyone says they are. I am pretty excited about finally getting around to seeing them (and on Blu-ray!).

Is anyone hearing some weird sound, almost like static, on the TrueHD track at certain points during The Godfather Part II? It occurs at various points during the movie, but two time stamps I can definitely point other people towards are:

00:19:16
03:12:14

I don't hear it on the mono track or any of the foreign language ones. I am playing the discs on a PS3 and have tried 2 different copies bought from 2 different stores with the same result.

Sorry if this has been posted, but I was going to send in the $10 rebate since I owned the older DVD box set and I can't seem to find the old set's proof of purchase. There is no tab anywhere to my knowledge on the box or in with each movie. I even had the paper that was glued to the back in the closet and it has nothing either except the barcode. Am I blind or is it not really there?

If you read the rebate form, the barcode is an acceptable proof of purchase.

Just a heads up, if you don't care about owning the SD set anymore, you can get more than $10 by selling it or trading it in at DVDPlanet (I think it's $14.99 in credit there). Less hassle than the rebate, IMO.

Oh thanks I just glanced at it and noticed it said to cut out the POP (which I guess you'd do for the other titles).

I think I'm going to hang onto the DVD set, for not particular reason I suppose.

Re: The Godfather: The Coppola Restoration Blu-ray Collection - 9/23/08

Is it worth upgrading to the Blu-Ray of the Coppola Restoration if I already have the SD?
