Much better than the idiotic barrel packaging. Hopefully the pricing is more in tune to what this set should actually cost as well.

I'd actually rather have that than my barrel.

I've finally been making my way through this show. The Blu-rays are plagued with banding, especially in the later seasons. I assume these are the same transfers though.

Probably won't have Vince Gilligan's liner notes talking about the show either since he specifically references the barrel packaging too.

I'm happy with my barrel too. Plus, I also have a Sony Visa with points on it and I was able to redeem the points I had to essentially get my barrel for free. So it was win-win for me.

It would be pretty stupid if it didn't include the bonus disc. There's really no reason to not put it in there. I can see the physical items like the Los Pollos Hermanos apron, the special magnetic disc holders, the coin, and possibly the booklet (although they could just re-do a different smaller sized version for this set) not being in it but I don't see why they wouldn't put the disc in. That's the incentive for people like me who didn't buy the barrel set to buy this eventually.

Anyways, I figured something like this would come along at some point. Eventually when it drops in price I'll probably pick it up.

This is really cool! Designer Created "Breaking Bad" Posters For Every Episode Of The Show. Update...you need to click on the link at the bottom of the last poster to view posters for all 62 episodes. Either way, lots to enjoy!

Cool idea but I'm really not into the style of his artwork. I just looked at the posters shown in the link but none of them are anything I'd really want to put up personally. I would like a nice print from the show at some point though. The only one I sort of don't mind is the one from Blood Money.

Saw this a while back and bookmarked it. It was really nice to go back and try to remember all of those episodes and compare them to the poster. Great idea.

Since this thread was bumped anyways, the pre order link for the new box set is up on Amazon. Hopefully it drops from $208 that it's listed for now. Still no release date yet. I'm still waiting on the final season to drop in price so I can finish up my set and start watching the show.

if you have netflix instant, the entire series is up there. so if it hasn't gone to a reasonable price yet, you can always watch the final season there

I was late to the party and marathoned the series over the last month or so on Netflix. I just finished the series finale last week and while I loved the entire series and would rank it as one of the top 5 drama series ever, I'm not sure I could watch the series over again any time soon. It is a very emotionally draining show.

I love Bryan Cranston though. That dude just seems so cool in real life.

It's easy to get a two week or one month trial for free. You'll blow through the last few eps in a weekend.

New packaging for those who hated or refused to purchase the previous one.

Despite this, I have absolutely no regrets purchasing the barrel.

Should I get this on sale at Barnes and Noble now, or should I wait for a cheaper price sometime during the year or so? I've never seen an episode and this series looks excellent.

I'm not sure what it's one sale for now but I'm sure it will be on sale closer to the holidays.

It's my all-time favorite drama, but given the acclaim I think most people would agree it's the best blind-buy TV series you could purchase and not regret.

You can always stream the show to sample it on Netflix if you have that.

There's a 40% off now at B&N and I also have a 15% off coupon that expires Sunday. I can get it for about $128, including NYC sales tax.

I don't have my set nearby, but I don't think it has this:
“Better Call Saul” matchbook 4GB flash drive

Isn't that kind of a "fuck you" to people who bought the original set? In a way? Sorta? Nah?

That Bob Dylan complete Albums Collection thing had a flash drive, and I think so did one of the anniversary versions of Wizard of Oz. Is it a new trend or something?

Re: Breaking Bad -- The Complete Series -- 11/26/13

The Dylan box didn't have one. That was just an alternative to the CD box. It was a USB shaped like a harmonica and it had digital files for all the albums on it, but it was a separate item. There was a Beatles one shaped like an apple too, and also one made for Radiohead's first 6 albums. A couple disc-based box sets that have actually included USB devices as extras are Shout Factory's GI Joe box and that Danny Elfman/Tim Burton 25th Anniversary box which had the same content on both CD and USB.

I'm sure this one will have some kind of Better Call Saul video or even a web link on it that will promote the new show. That way they can use the same barrel packaging, it would be easier to somehow attach a USB stick to the packaging than it would be to reconfigure the whole thing to include another disc.
