Here is one side of my buddy's signed barrel. Barnes & Noble sold a ton of them. I got there at 6:30 a.m. & was 14th in line.

I didn't realize these damn sets were so limited! I had it my Amazon cart for a few months now, waiting for a price drop or I'd buy it at the $199.99 price after xmas, but as of today they no longer have it for sale! People on Amazon Marketplace and Ebay are already selling them for some outrageous prices! Oh well, I didn't need that money barrel anyway... HAHA!

Jeez, you weren't kidding.

Hopefully this means a more practical complete series set will be announced soon.

Re: Breaking Bad -- The Complete Series -- 11/26/13

I haven't purchased it yet, but I was strongly considering pulling the trigger. But the last I checked they were all sold out. No more on Amazon and Best Buy doesn't have anymore either.

Breaking Bad Store had it for $179.99 and it's sold out there too.

I guess you snooze, you lose.

This looks like it might be a placeholder for an upcoming normal-size complete set. I'm assuming they're just using the European cover art until official art/announcement is... announced

Any bets on if the normal-packaged set will include the bonus disc?

So some of you will actually consider double dipping if they change to "normal" size packaging?

I guess more people had an extra $200+tax laying around that some of you thought.

Re: Breaking Bad -- The Complete Series -- 11/26/13

Just called an FYE about 10 miles from my house. They have a copy in stock for $209. FYE also takes BD and DVD trade-ins. I think if I bring enough stuff including dumping my BB season 1-3 DVD and season 4 BD, I might be able to knock off $50 maybe $60 off the price.

Do we know if this set is officially limited or not? Possible this was just the first production wave that sold out and more shipments to the retailers are underway. This happens quite a bit with new electronics -- not necessarily a stretch to think it may include BDs.

I'm curious - did anyone here actually say they didn't think it would sell out if it's limited? I know I didn't. Just curious who you're directing this comment at.

I saw 6 of these sitting at Fry's for 229.00 each FWIW.

A couple BB's in my area still seem to have them in stock. Just not terribly motivated to drive out in the snow for one of them.

Nobody. I just got the impression here that the majority thought it was too expensive and probably wouldn't sell out. Just an assumption, my bad if you thought I was directing it at you or being snarky. I know not everyone can afford to spend $200 on media. You already made your point several posts back that you don't need the product even though you think it looks cool.

Re: Breaking Bad -- The Complete Series -- 11/26/13

The funny thing is, if I saw it for $200 in regular packaging on release day I probably would have bought it. It really is the packaging that made me think twice. I wouldn't even hesitate at $150 for regular packaging. I have no problem spending $200 on one of the best series ever on TV. I've spent way more than that to own other series.

Re: Breaking Bad -- The Complete Series -- 11/26/13

I'd be surprised if these are all gone. I think they will be having another production run. I can't see Vince Gilligan doing that promo video if these were going to be such a limited collectible.

Sold out or not, the series is still too fresh in my mind, and I can't see watching it again for at least a year. I will see what's out then.

Re: Breaking Bad -- The Complete Series -- 11/26/13

Just picked it up from FYE. It was the only copy they had.

Holy shit, some of you weren't kidding, it's a monstronsity.

Ended up paying $166.74 after tax and my trade-ins. Got roughly $60 in trade credit for the stuff I brought in including the BB season 1-3 DVD and 4 BD. It was stuff I already watched and was just gathering dust.

Ended up throwing away the plastic case, which I have no use for, but keeping the inside label with the artwork.

Can't wait to make some time to watch the 2+ hour documentary and check out some of the extras for season 5.

Yeah I think they were probably also testing out the waters a bit to get an idea of how many they could shift.

Re: Breaking Bad -- The Complete Series -- 11/26/13

I almost broke down and got this but the way I figure it'll be re-packaged at some point in time. When that happens I'm sure eventually it'll get discounted or Amazon will have it as a lightning deal or gold box deal one day and I'll just pick it up then. The only reason that I really want this set at all is due to the documentary. The physical items while cool aren't really drawing me to the set that much.

Re: Breaking Bad -- The Complete Series -- 11/26/13

I managed to snag the only one at a not so local Barnes & Noble. Had a 30% off BF coupon so it came to $147, plus I had some gift cards there so I didn't feel too bad about the purchase.

Overall I l like the set but I am really disappointed in the outer plastic case. It's extremely fragile (mine came with a cracked back) and the glue that they used to seal it with is an OCD nightmare. I think I'm just going to toss it and find a way to display it with the paper insert. Also while the magnet cases hold the discs safety, they seem like they will get scratched up pretty easily if you're not careful when handling them.

Were they $209 in-store? I saw that was the price on their website, but their in-store prices usually never match up with the website.

Yea, it was $299 with a 30% off sticker on it, and surprisingly the coupon stacked up.
