Actually it's a 16.7% discount nominally, think of it as getting $10 off a $60 purchase. Still it does bring some of the $12.99 AR deals back down to the $10 AR level because with the rebates you are getting cash back that reduces your basis and increases the % savings(though not the absolute amount).
1) Spend $50, get $60 in gift cards
2) Preorder 3 $12.99 AR titles, pick up and pay with gift cards. Total $59.97+ tax.
3) Mail in rebates, receive $21 - $1 postage
4) Net outlay: $30 + tax on $60 for 3 DVDs. With a 5% tax rate, it comes to $33, still about as good as you could do before.
The risk is that they jack up prices again, on the $14.99 AR titles, you would only get $14 net back, it would give you $12 + tax price($13 each at 5%) still a pretty good price.

they'll tell you something like you have to wait 4 weeks from the mail date before they can reissue another one. They will reissue it though but don't forget about it cuz I forgot about a Staples rebate once and they said that they can't reissue the check after 6 months.

Thanks!
I actually found it last night though. Funny thing about step 5 there. This was my first time doing the rebate with them and that time I made a photocopy of everything but instead of photocoping the side that you provided in the Jpeg, I photocopied the side with my address and such.
Live and learn.
Also if anyone is wondering, my rebates for Along Came Polly and Last Samurai came in yesterday. Still haven't gotten THe Company, Bad Santa or the Father's day ones though.

Strawberries
BTW, local Boston Strawberries didn't know anything about the sales circular DB27 mentioned in another thread, so it is possible that the sale was specific to Coconuts or regional.
Girl Next Door 19.99 + tax - $5 MIR
Laws of Attraction 19.99 + tax - $5 MIR
Ella Enchanted 19.99 + tax - $4 MIR
Futurama S4 42.99 + tax - $5 MIR
Apprentice, S1 42.99(no rebate)(if you open the front of the package, Donald says,"You're fired!")
New preorder: Elf(11/16/04) get free Digital Yule Log dvd with preorder.

Anyone get the Girl Next Door poster today? I preordered it a while ago and they didn't know anything about posters. I'm gonna call or go up on Thursday to see if maybe they got them in late, but not a big deal if they didn't, would be cool to have though.

No poster at my location, FYE in mall. For those that got a pre-order for girl next door make sure they give you the correct $10 off rebate slip. My store tried to give me only the $5 off one and the guy insisted that was the only rebate form till I noticed a stack of them sitting on a shelf behind the counter half buried in junk. It is like the kill bill Vol. 2 form having only GND listed on it and saying Preorder only at the top.

I got my poster but it was ruined on the side. I'm gonna try to go to another store to exchange it cuz they were all crinkled at the store that I pre-ordered at.
Besides the Elf pre-order for $12.99 after MIR, I also saw The Day After Tomorrow for $12.99 after MIR, and Fahrenheit 911 for $14.99 after MIR.
The Shrek 2 pre-order comes with one of 3 plush animals (Shrek, Puss N Boots, or Donkey). No price was listed.
As always, the first post is updated.

I got my GND poster when I preordered......Also the clerk couldnt find the $10 rebate for Kill Bill 2 Preorder so she just went back and credited my card $5 and I sent the $5 rebate in and recieved the valid confirmation today, so it worked out.

Yeah, I guess I'll call tomorrow or Thursday. That's what happened with my rebate, they had to go in and credit me back $5.23 when I pointed out the sign in the front of the store says $9.99 w/ preorder. I felt bad because I held up the line and it took the poor girl like 10 minutes to figure it out. I always bitch about people who are in line forever where I work, today I was one of those people. The employees at my FYE are always very friendly and pretty helpful though, so it all worked out okay. Well minus the poster.

damn, they only gave me the $5 rebate form tonight when i stopped by to pick up GND. they had the posters, but the copy i was given had writing on the back (somebody took a marker and wrote "GND pre-order" in big letters.) i don't know how successful i will be if i go back tomorrow and insist on a $10 rebate form. i didn't see any posters anywhere in the store advertising the rebate. what do you think?

A) Get a poster without writing on it
B) Go back and ask for a "Pre-Order Only" $10 rebate form. If they don't have it, then you can probably return it.

A good example is the upcoming release of Angels in America set for release on 9/14. Your post at the beginning of this thread shows a whopping $10 rebate whereas the local stores don't have any information. Are these things discretionary or am I being fed #@*$? Any advice?

This is not the listing they have in a black binder near the registers. This a free-floating set of four or five sheets of paper that are stapled in one corner. My FYE clerks don't mind showing me this because I usually preorder something from it then and there.
I'll be going again on September 7 to pick up my Punisher DVD. I have a feeling I'm going to have a problem with this one. As I reported long ago, this was shown to have a $12 MIR back when I preordered it, making it around eight bucks. I looked and thought about this possible error three times before I decided to put my deposit down. I have a feeling that my FYE isn't going to honor this obvious mistake on their part, but I'm going to try. Since I'll be putting a deposit down for two more preorders, that may sway them to my side.

I just called the local Fye store and they said it was a mail in rebate of $5 for Angels in America. I wish they would get some consistency because $5 off isn't really a deal to go there.

…and I get my information by asking the friendly clerks at my FYE if I can see their listing of future preorders. I don't know how often this listing is updated, but every time I see it, it has new titles listed in it and some titles listed from before that did not have rebate information for it. I never post preorders unless they have some mail-in rebate attached to it. For me, buying DVDs at FYE is only good if there is a rebate involved. Otherwise, it's cheaper elsewhere.

Might be something incorrect with your information mike01.
How can you send for a rebate on a movie not released, or even paid for?
FYE requires proof of purchase and the pre-order only requires a small deposit..

1) If you order it online, you will have to cut out the UPC since there isn't a price sticker on online orders. So, I pre-ordered it in-store
2) If you pre-order it in store, there's currently a deal where if you buy $50 in Gift Cards, you get a $10 one free
3) If you pre-order it in-store, you can get $5 off certain Fox titles. I got $5 off the Predator SE. After New Year, they had X-Men 1.5 and X2 for $9.99 each so you could've gotten one of those for $4.99.
