Moon is great. Source Code is still very good. Warcraft might end up being his Dune.
Reminds me of another talented young director. Remember that upward trajectory Alejandro Amenabar was on in the late 90s/early 00s, and then he sort of imploded? A shame. What a talent.

The Others was fantastic but a complete and uncredited rip-off of The innocents. I thought his most recent film: Regression was ok.
Jones seems to be a one-trick pony.

Source Code and Moon are the only movies he's made outside of Warcraft, so calling Moon his "only" good movie doesn't mean anything. Your statement makes it sound like he's made more movies.
Also, your opinion seems to be the minority one regarding Source Code.

Yeah, I liked both Moon and Source Code. That aside, this may be good, but it's still going to tank. I think most would rather go watch Cap'n 'Merica again than to see this. I hope this does decent, only to keep Duncan Jones' career moving forward.

That's fine. I don't subscribe to RT's viewpoint. Source Code is not a good film. Moon is great. Warcraft looks to be garbage.

It's not RT's viewpoint, it's the audience's viewpoint. RT does not make up a grade based on it's own opinion about a movie. It simply gathers reviews.

This looked like shit from the get-go, but some recent footage at least looked a little promising, and Jones seemed very confident in the final product being better than the marketing would lead you to believe. Too bad that apparently isn't the case.
Buuut...for every decent bit of footage, there were just as many shots of Paula Patton's fucking stupid looking character to piss away any goodwill previously generated towards the movie.

Facebook is always fun. These people are jumping on these negative reviews because apparently you're suppose to do some homework and learn everything there is to know about the Warcraft universe before seeing the movie and writing your review

"critics" who don't even know that the movie isn't based off of WoW, or have an ounce of background knowledge of the lore prior to watching the movie are calling it garbage, but the fans of the game are saying it's fantastic

It makes sense that WoW fans would be more into the movie. I played for 10 years and I'm looking forward to it. I don't know what's up with critics this year, but it's an absolutely dismal year for tentpole films that aren't made by Marvel.

I am surprised that Universal didn't learn their lesson after Battleship. That Fast and Furious money must go to their head.

IIRC, Uni acquired this film after striking a deal with Legendary, so the project didn't originate with them. I believe their losses can be mitigated as a result. Internal studio docs (leaked?) showed that Uni considered this to be an "problem" film that was expected to perform poorly.

Currently 22% on RT which is not in the least surprising. I cannot tell the difference between the commercials for this film and the commercials for video games.

Damn... all the major theatres by are running this very limitedly. Some with just two regular showings and two 3D showings. I guess this is really being set up to bomb. Not that it would've done well either way...

Tmobile gave their customers free tickets for this movie yesterday. I am still not sure this is worth seeing.
