Alright, fellas, I am out. So often when work sucks this hard I stay after to finish what needs finishing, but FUCK THAT. This is the Dark Knight night and I need a three hour nap prior to. I'm positively giddy.

Our government, economy, environment and prospects suck all kinds of shit, I'm severly underpaid, my car's falling apart and there are raccoons living in my attic but none of that matters. I'm going to get in the car, fire up a smoke and blast some Flogging Molly because tonight a movie comes out that I've been waiting for since, at the tender age of 6, I picked up "A Lonely Place of Dying: Part 1" from a shelf in a 7-11 twenty years ago. Tonight all is right with the world.

Enjoy yourselves, guys! I look forward to meeting you all in the Reviews thread tomorrow for a little bit of "The Chris Farley Show" action (read: ).

Have fun!

Peace.

-Doc

According to SHH:

The film's more than 4,366 domestic playdates is a record, surpassing the 4,362 theaters for May 2007's bow of "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End." Double- and triple-screening at many venues means "Dark Knight" will play on 9,200 screens in the U.S. and Canada.

Its engagements include 94 Imax venues -- Nolan shot long segments using Imax-format cameras -- and most of those giant-screen auditoriums were sold out by midweek. A Warners exec estimated that Imax presales totaled $3.5 million, with advance ticketing for other venues adding considerably to that total.

Just got back from a sneak preview our office was putting off. Freakin' awesome. Ledger completely nailed the Joker. He's completely batshit crazy in this movie, yet he didn't come across like it was forced. It moves along at a brisk pace and doesn't feel nearly as long as 2 1/2 run time.

Haven't posted on this film since Ledger was anounced but I've been reading along the whole time. Can't wait for the film. T-minus 4 hours 37 minutes for us on the west coast.

I'm sitting here watching Batman and Robin on TNT before I leave for The Dark Knight. Don't ask me why I'm watching shit before watching a master piece.

I'm doing the same exact thing.
Makes me really appreciate what Nolan has done with the franchise.

"You...You must be new in Town....In Gotham City, Batman and Robin protect us!! Even from plants and flowers!!.."

Great stuff.

Felt like checking on that for shits and giggles...

The only times available (for IMAX) are 6:15 AM on Friday, 1:25 AM on Saturday (Sunday morning?), 9:15 AM Sunday and 10:15 PM Sunday.... 9:15 AM is just too damn early.

I'm seeing it at that theater, but not on the IMAX screen yet since I'm seeing it tomorrow for a work event

I do plan on catching the IMAX sometime though.

I think I'm going to the first show tommorow at 11:30am. None of my friends wanted to see this tonight at midnight and I didn't feel like showing up alone.

At least I have Batman and Robin to watch on TNT.

IMAX at city walk... while I hate the IMAX there, I couldn't help but love every second of that experience.

Just saw it. Epic. All I can say is epic. The movie is perfect, and I absolutely LOVED the ending.

I will discuss later...time to sleep...

For some silly unknown reason, the film doesn't arrive here in PR until the 24th.
