I have found that Dark KNight and The Incredible Hulk held up (and even got better) upon a 2nd viewing but Iron Man didnt hold up nearly as well. I still really like it but dont think it'll have the rewatchability of The Dark Knight and Hulk 2

Am I only one that was thinking that if Dent really had half his face missing in real life (you can see muscle/tendon fibers in there) that he'd get a bad infection and die?

BTW if you mean that hospital explosion, I don't think he's dead. I think Batman 3 is going to have him as the main villain (or one of them).

Have you finished the movie, or are you posting as you watch? I can't imagine walking away from the movie after the hospital scene to post; the movie just had me transfixed at that point.

Hm... I did enjoy The Dark Knight the first time I saw it (in the Cinerama dome in Hollywood).. just watched it again a couple nights ago on DVD..
I gotta say, I think the emperor isn't wearing much. No doubt Heath Ledger's Joker is magnificent, but he's in the wrong movie. I actually was a bit bored through most of it and found the plot kind of convoluted. It actually feels more like a James Bond movie than a superhero one.
Christian Bale, while normally a good actor, is frankly pretty lame as Bruce Wayne. His "Batman" gruff voice is kind of unintentionally humorous.
The movie also falls victim to Spielberg's recent problem of too many endings... why on earth did it need to cram the Two-Face story into it's resolution? It's like they chopped part 3 to it's essentials and just shoved it in there. Too much.
I don't know. It's not a horrible movie by any stretch, and it has moments of brilliance (basically the Joker scenes), but as a whole I think it pales next to Spider Man 2 or even Batman Returns if we're discussing the same genre.

And they didn't cram Two-Face in because he was never meant to be a villain. He is the Joker's living, breathing trophy and he has nothing to live for, unlike in the comic books where he has a devoted wife. In this universe his burns would have killed him in weeks, if not sooner, and if not there would be no reason for him to become a mob boss like he did in the comics.

Dent dies
I really enjoyed the movie (and I really enjoyed #1 also). I did find the Batman voice comical. I still don't understand the whole thing (i.e. Gordon's involvement with the mob), so I'll do some reading around (imdb boards can be childish at times but I've found it a great source of information for movie questions).

As far as Spider-Man 2 goes, I know everyone went crazy for it at the time and some people have outgrown it. I was personally disappointed while watching it in the theater the first time. I mean, really, the whole driving plot is that Peter Parker's feelings for Mary Jane are the source of his conflict. Fine. But you can't have the guy have anxiety attacks over letting her know he's Spider-Man when he takes off his freaking mask on top of a building in broad daylight! Sorry, but if your secret identity is the source of your issues, then you can't be so cavalier about when you guard it. All I wanted to do was slap him.
