Re: Mondo/Alamo Drafthouse Screen Printed Movie Posters
I got excited when I saw the twitter update about a Bottle Rocket print, but then I saw the print.
I generally don't like prints covered with characters from the film, but especially when there is little likeness to the characters in the film. Who is that in yellow in the center? (sarcasm)

Cool news about the Academy archiving Mondo's prints. Also like Mondo's new archives site: www.mondoarchive.com

Re: Mondo/Alamo Drafthouse Screen Printed Movie Posters
Totally forgot to mention this... I was shooting the shit in Mondo a few weeks ago after a screening and they're looking to move into a larger space somewhere in the same plaza where Alamo South Lamar and The Highball are located.
I pointed out to the guy that their store is in the area where old Fiesta Mart kept their shopping carts (The Alamo S Lamar used to be a supermarket before they opened in 2005-ish). They work out of a shopping cart nook, lol.
Also, back in the day I saw where they store and ship everything. In theater 1 or 2 there's a hobbit-sized door. They have to go into the theater, crouch down through a half-sized corridor, and their storage and workspace is back there.
They also mentioned that they want to set up an art gallery in there with older archived prints along with screenprinted items for sale. The old store would turn into an Alamo Drafthouse gift shop (which it started out as)

I heard that whole shopping center is being torn down and made into condos. The Alamo and Highball are supposed to be incorporated into the design. Maybe it will be something between the two?

I guess I should get a pic in here of Frankie. You know there are rumors this thing is going to be $250.

If you look in the section with photo montage frames (with matting for several 4x6 photos) they have a 12x24 frame there that I've used for Doyle's prints. I also found a killer 13.5x26" frame that fit my Daniel Danger Royal Tenenbaums poster fantastically.
If you've bought as many prints I have, you start to wonder if the custom framers and the artists have an ongoing deal

It's not hard to matt something yourself. I go to the thrift store and buy some shitty art for $5, rip out the art and spraypaint the usually ugly ass gold frame and then matt it myself. Matt boards are usually only $5-10 at a craft store.

Susan just custom made me some pretty nice frames for that size. I'm pretty happy with their quality. I'll see about taking pictures and posting them as I just got them last night.

ALL of the Rolling Roadshow prints from this year are currently in-store, btw.
They better bring back some of those exclusives with them for locals. Grr.

I can't post the link here, but just Google "inPRNT" and type BTTF into their site's search engine. Both options should come up. Hope that helps.
