Speaking of, whatever happened to the 3D conversions of the OT? I thought we were supposed to hit theaters years ago.

There were plans to re-release I-VI in 3D. They started out with Phantom Menace, but pulled the plug when that one didn't make any money.

That's not why they pulled the plug (as I said, The Phantom Menace 3D made $100 million worldwide). Disney pulled the plug on these when they acquired Lucasfilm. Part of it was probably because they didn't want anyone to remember those prequels, and part of it was the deal with FOX over distribution of the original trilogy.

Ain't It Cool claims the working title is The Ancient Fear.

That fits with the naming convention above.

They also say the title refers to Sydow's character. That fits with the 4chan claims about a Darth Ruin.

It's supposed to just be the working title, but I kind of like it. It's a lot better than either "The Phantom Menace" or "A New Hope".

And THIS immediately pops into mind:

AICN hasn't had an exclusive, or at least a worthwhile exclusive, in years.

If you want to be the first to know about a Robert Rodriguez (or any other of Knowles' "pals") movie/TV show, then that's where you'll want to go. Otherwise, nearly any other website out there will have the scoop prior to AICN.

These days, all that site is good for is posting other people's stories, usually several days later.

On an unrelated note: I hope Serkis isn't playing a CG character. I hope they don't have any of the main characters be purely CG/mo-cap/whatever. No matter how good the effect looks at the time, it doesn't hold up. Never. Gollum (LOTR, not Hobbit). Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Avatar. Nothing from the newest SW trilogy.

And conning people into paying Harry's back taxes through Kickstarter.

Now it's at least "three" spin-offs. I dunno, Disney seems to be getting cocky. SW is big but I don't think it'll have the mainstream appeal like Marvel.

It'll be interesting... I could see a Bobba Fett trilogy of course...and that'd be one of the easier ones...you could have Vader, the Emperor, etc. Knights of the Old Republic, a live-action Rebels series. One-offs don't seem to make sense imo...they should at least be able to make multiple movies/a trilogy off of each of non-episode movies.

Maybe they can finally make a third Ewok movie and finish the trilogy. As long as Wilford Brimley's alive, we can hope.

I don't know, how many characters in the Star Wars universe could really carry three full movies?

One offs seem to make a lot of sense for non-episode SW films.
