I'm fine with Lando not being in Episode 7, but I think it'd be a shame if he doesn't show up in 8 or 9. In fact, IMO, I think his absence kind of confirms that Han is going to die in Episode 7. Lando can play the "every man" character in Ep 8.

Yeah, maybe Lando will come in in EP8. Though he's not getting any younger, and I think it'd be a bit weird if we have a Lando kid there and no Lando in EP7.

Was it confirmed that they were still looking for another actress?

There was a big stink that there was only one new female actress so they said there was going to be another person hired and it would be female.

Or something to that effect

I loved Lando from the OT, but Billy Dee Williams is a train-wreck these days when he's interviewed. He was on Arsenio Hall a few weeks back, and was talking very slow and was taking alot of time to answer each question. He honestly came off like an older Boxer who took too many punches to the head!

That hasn't stopped Stallone from making movies.

You do know that Stallone wasn't really boxing, right? Sly has done everything in his power to take care of himself... Billy Dee is a mess.

...but actually they WERE really hitting each other - at least occasionally. Numerous stories on this on the Net, but Dolph Lundgren sent Stallone to the intensive care unit of the hospital after hitting him in the heart on Rocky IV.

Also, he tore a vein during Rocky II and got 60 stiches, and actually had screws put in his neck for a cracked vertebrae during The Expendables.

There's probably more that I'm not remembering - he's taken a beating on his films because he insists on doing things as realistically as possible.

Now, back to STAR WARS...

I remember downloading the trailer in March of 1999 while visiting my grandma in IL. She lived in a small town and I didn't realize it but dialing into AOL was a long distance call for her even though the area code was the same. She was pretty mad at me when she got a huge phone bill. Lots happened that week. Kubrick died too.

It's very probable imo that they considered including him, but decided against it. I'd love to see him get a cameo of course....but any kind of screen time is going to give his age away pretty quickly...and I'm not sure that's what we really want to see.... that's just the hard truth. Ford can pull off a 60something, but I think Billy is very much past that...no knock against him of course, he looks to be in good health and all, but that smuggler's ship has sailed.

Yo, remember when Adrian wasn't in Rocky Balboa. Maybe that's...a similar situation here.

Are you insinuating that Han is in love with Lando?

We open with Greedo eating at Han's new restaurant, Lando's, while Han regales him with stories of smuggling. Boba Fett is the maitre d'.

Wait until Lando finds out that Han really does shoot first. Too quickly, too.

Looking at the pics of BDW, I have to agree that he is old. A wig, mustache, some makeup... I dunno. I think it'll be like Shatner and new Star Trek - the merciful thing to do is leave him out of it.

Perhaps Carrie Fisher is only going to be in a flashback scene. They could use computers to make her younger and we see Leia giving birth to her and Han's twins and then she dies in childbirth seconds after giving them names due to giving up and dying of a broken heart. Nah, that sound incredibly friggin stupid and no competent screen writer would ever do that.

Well younger and thinner.

Actually... What is her size now? Cuz old Fat Leia would be an interesting credit.
