14 Cameras (2018)
Even as a sequel, the film fails to say anything new within the Genre. It definitely has its creepy moments but isn't as filled as tension as other films similar to it, such as Vacancy (2007).
There are many issues here, namely the screen time of the villain, whose actions become so redundant, you start to question why more effort wasn't put into the plot (and characters) surrounding him.

Cold Hell (Die Hölle) (2017)
Exciting Giallo-Inspired Action/Thriller.
While the second act drags the film a bit, I can't fault the filmmakers for finding ways to add depth to its cast of characters, as films within this Sub-Genre tend to splash misogynistic tones on its female leads.
Will definitely put this one among my favorite Genre films this year.

Lake Placid Legacy, I've read its supposed to be a sequel to the first film, but other then a giant crocodile it has not one thing to do with the first movie, total waste of time 1/5

Andre the Giant - 4/5
Very good documentary that brought back a lot of childhood memories. It explores the man not just inside the ring, but also his personal life and his branching out into other forms of entertainment.

That was fantastic, and I feel the same way about it bringing back childhood memories. My favorite parts were when they had the cast members and director of The Princess Bride talking about their memories of him. Rob Reiner and Billy Crystal made some especially funny and touching remarks...

Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey (1991)
I didn't remember the first one, having seen it too long ago (plus it hadn't made an overwhelming impression) so I was a bit confused by the story at first. But we get all the running gags in the first 15 minutes so the rest was easier to follow. Not that it's a complex script or anything!
I was mildly amused throughout, probably more from the nostalgia and seeing Keanu pre-stardom than the actual gags. Watchable overall.

Paganini (1989)
Mostly unwatchable last film by Kinski (who also directed - and edited - it after Herzog turned him down countless time). It is said that the actor felt close to the violonist who was immensely talented, unsufferable and a complete hedonist (mostly with young women!) and wanted to put his soul in this film. It turns out its an hour and a half of him playing the violin alone in his deserted house interspersed with him banging countless women in all sorts of positions and places. The so-called director cut is soft-porn at times (including scenes with Kinski's then-wife) but doesn't make it any better. Disapointment.

C'était un rendez-vous (1976)
Mythical long-lost Lelouch short film shot in one-take of him driving his car at full speed (sometimes up to 200km/h!) in Paris at dawn. Scary when you realize it was all done in real time without special effects nor blocking any streets nor with any stuntmen. Just a 35mm camera mounted on a fast car and one roll of 8 minutes of film. Couldn't be done nowadays. With good reason too!
Nice as a curiosity but not a must.
The director of Mission Impossible : Fallout has been quoted as saying that his motorcycle pursuit in Paris was inspired by this. But of course he did it with 130 shots and some CGI!

Damage (1992)
One of Louis Malles' last films has Jeremy Irons as a high office politician entering into a destructive relationship (sexual basically) with his son's girlfriend (Juliette Binoche). Very similar in theme to another Irons film called "M Butterfly" by Cronenberg.
Not very convincing nor too likeable.

I thought I knew about every movie that has come out but I never heard of this back in 1992.
I thought it was good.

Truth or Dare (2018) — Maybe because I'm grading on a curve comparing this to the awful Blumhouse version, but Truth or Dare actually wasn't terrible. Now, it's not very good, but at least the dares were effectively horrific and it didn't have some lame overcomplicated back story. The acting was okay I suppose from this unknown cast (I didn't recognize anybody other than Heather Langenkamp, but she's only in it for a couple of minutes). What keeps this from being a so-so movie to average is the stupid final scene. 2.5/5

Searching (2018)
The chase was exciting, due to the choice in Cinematography.
With that said, I still felt that specific choice attempted to hide a pretty thin plot, as well as a very disappointing finale.

Humorous and fun. Nothing great. A good rental
Saw this in the theater and wanted another look. An OK movie but I preferred the Jolie versions. My son said he liked this one better.

Hunt for the Wilder people (2016)
Superb New-Zealand comedy written and directed by Taika Waititi (who later went on to direct Thor: Ragnarok). Tells the story of a boy placed in an upteenth foster family of hunters in a far remote area surrounded by bush and how he will learn to survive with his grumpy foster father (Sam Neill) once the mother dies and child care wants to retake him. Very original directing, great humour and a fun scene with director as a Maori preacher with absurs speech at funeral. Great discovery!
