The one problem I have with this is that Batman looks so freaking fast. I mean, the whole point of the DKR is that he was old and slow.

I actually think the SDCC trailer is still the best one so far. This one showed some cool Batman in action stuff I'll admit. I still can't quite get my excitement for this film very high though. I think it'll be okay but ultimately that I'll be disappointed.

Why would anyone have ever doubted the action in this movie? Man of Steel's problems had nothing to do with its action at all and Snyder is a gifted visual director.

Pretty damn GREAT trailer.

Reminds me of how amazing MoS looked starting with it's second trailer and all through each successive TV spot. Like there was no way it could not be good. And that's not snark, that's just the way it was at the time.

Nice to finally get a couple words (literally) out of Gadot. I sincerely hope I'm wrong about her, and that she makes an incredible WW. That's the property I've most wanted to see executed well in live action for the last 30+ years.

Ha! Even though it's bias confirmation, everything Drew relays in that is what I've expected/suspected. He's hearing the only consistently positive reactions to screenings have been to JE's Luthor and Afflecks Batman.
He has nothing to say about Gadot, other than WW which is in production will be finished and released. That to me speaks volumes.

Yeah, I expect people will lose their jobs over this one and that schedule of upcoming titles is going to be radically revised.
I do expect this will impact Cavill and when/if we get more Superman-centric films. Shame. He's not the strongest actor out there, but the material and vision were more at fault than his effort, imo. With the right guiding light behind the scenes, he could have probably been as beloved as Reeve in time. Unfortunately he'll just be remembered for essaying "Asshole Superman".

You know I'm right there with you. I've been branded a DC hater throughout most of this thread for expressing similar concerns about this film and the way that it seems like the groundwork for this expanded universe has been cobbled together and doesn't feel like there's really a coherent plan.

I don't expect this film to be a flop but I don't think it'll be the massive hit that DC and Warner may expect it to be. Obviously they won't scrap things already in development but I could definitely see a shift in releases and possibly holding off on projects that aren't started yet. I also think that Drew is right on the money about Warner doing whatever they can to get the solo Batman film out as soon as possible. He's by far the most bankable character they have and their safest bet.

What does everyone think the over/under on box office is for this to be considered a hit or a flop?

I'm thinking at least $400,000,000 domestic and $1,000,000,000 worldwide? Anything less is a letdown?
I mean if it matches Man of Steel numbers ($291 million/$668 million) it's going to be considered a flop, right? As crazy as that sounds.

I wouldn't be surprised if they expect this film to at least be somewhere between the two Avengers films. Probably a billion is a bit high domestically but I'm betting they're hoping for that worldwide for sure.
