Transcendence. Had such hopes for it and it turned out so mediocre. Too bad.

The fact that major studios made a giant monster vs. giant robot movie.

They got Guillermo del Toro to direct it. (Think how insipid the movie might be done by, say, Rob Cohen_.

There's a male-female relationship in it but it's based on friendship and partnership, not romance.

There's decent representation of a wide variety of minorities.

Does any of the above make it a great movie? No. But it's nice to have it. It's nice to see something different.

I'm just amazed that a studio spent $190 million on a film which seems to have had a potential audience of 19 people. Not that I mind, I love the film.
