oh man I totally agree now with the comments about ty.
Spoiler:
I can't believe when he was announced in the bottom 3 and INXS was telling him why he was there he interrupted them and said "Yeah I know how it works"

They should give him the ax for that alone.

I thought Brandon was actually pretty good. And Ty was very good. He actually, for all his possible ego, takes direction very well. He's toned down the "acting" and he's almost completely lost the theatrical vibrato style. Tara was weak, but it was a tough song to do in comparison to the other two.

I didn't like Ty's performance, then again, he made the song something I was not at all familiar with, and I've heard "Kick" before, so it just puzzled me. His downfall will be his pride.

Brandon's performance was credible, though a little shaky, but if I were INXS, I'd have some reservations of him fronting their band.

Tara was bland once again, and was quickly shown the door.

ty is just too dramatic. he's a good singer. but he's not a rock singer, imo.

i'm completely in love with jordis. i can forgive her favorite songs as she is young and hot.

even though she lost on star search

Damn! I can't believe Jordis lost on Star Search, when she is so far ahead of the other singers on Rock Star, IMO.

Good to see Tara gone. She had no chance of winning, so let ger go. I can't see Ty or Brandon winning either, so I thought that the band Inxs might let one of them go as well.

I noticed that Brandon didn't put up his hand when asked who thought they would be in the bottom three. Interesting new look for him though, with the beard shaved (except for the mutton chop sideburns).

Good to see that Jordis got the encore this week. It was definitely well deserved.

I agreed with Brandon that he shouldn't be in the bottom 3. I still think he's the 4th best. Jordis, MiG, Marty and then him. I don't know why INXS liked Ty so much. To borrow a line from Simon Cowell, he belongs on a cruise ship. The only songs he can sing are those that are upbeat and happy songs. He belongs on American Idol really. JD would probably be #5 for me.

Too serious? Marty has the goofiest dance moves of anyone up there. I think Marty's made some good choices to show versatility, doing Nirvana, Franz Ferdinand, and Creed. It's a little hard to do a Creed song without sounding like Pearl Jam

The voters agreed with my bottom 3 (post #254). I'm sure Tara was mentally prepared to go.

I was rewatching many of the performances yesterday, and Ty was actually worse that I remembered on "Everlong" -- I couldn't get through listening to the whole thing again.

I sure hope next week's song list is a little more inspired.

I see the band, INXS, sitting there watching Brandon sing "The Devil Inside," and I just feel their pain, like they've got to be apologizing to Michael Hutchence as they sit there. I'd be somewhat depressed, I think, if I were them...

Why would they apologize to a guy that off'd himself.

Because they are sitting there watching some not-so-good singers slaughter songs brilliantly done by the late Hutchence. That's why.

I've been out of town since Monday, so when I got back into town last night, I got to have a little mini-Rock Star marathon. Jordis really amazed me. Great performance, very emotional. Ty was awful, and the one who did Blister In the Sun (her name is escaping me at the moment) did OK, but she makes every song she does sound like a cutesy punk song. It's getting old to me. And how in the world does someone on a show called Rock Star fail to ever hear the song Everlong? I'm surprised he didn't do a stripped down, acoustic version of it. I prefer the acoustic version the Foo Fighters do myself.

As for the sing-off by the bottom 3, I actually thought Tara did the best, although she was far from spectacular. I would have gotten rid of Ty. His performances make me think that I'm watching "Our Band, INXS, Does Broadway" starring Ty 'Look I Have a Mohawk so I'm a Real Rocker' Taylor. And I also don't like the way he handles even the smallest bit of criticism.

So did anyone catch the show on VH-1 tonight? The rockers had to do a press junket. I couldn't believe it when Ty was asked what his favorite song off "Shabooh, Shabah" was and he stammered "I don't really know albums..." You would think he would learned them when he was going onto the show, no? But then Dave Navarro defended him and said he was asked the same thing when he joined the Chili Peppers. Except he was Dave Navarro and already joined the band-- not competing on a reality show.

Ty also is going to lose votes with people the way he played the race card, crying at the dinner table about how he can count on one hand the number of black people in rock. My husband quickly started naming people counting on both hands.

When they showed that huge table of food for Jordis' birthday, my husband asked "Did she win the food challenge this week?" Snerk.

JD gets progressively more obnoxious every week. He was really shoveling it tonight.

I would have loved to see him act out an entire scene from Night of the Hunter with his tats!

I couldn't figure out what song MiG ended up with after giving J.D. "Crazy", but I hope that act of generosity doesn't end up hurting him. He may just be a little too honest and honorable when dealing with J.D. whom you can never take at face value.

I agree (although, I don't mind that Tara is gone). And let's face it - the criticism really is mild on this show. They really could use a Simon Cowell-like personality because it seems like INXS is just being nice to everyone. I can't tell if they feel anyone is genuinely GOOD. I mean, I think Jordis is extremely talented, but she is stylistically very different from many of the other performers. INXS thought Ty was excellent on "Kick" and I thought, "oh, pack it up already." Brandon was equally lackluster on "Devil Inside" despite the makeover.
